Might be insane for saying this but can we also hold the Israeli citizens accountable, just as much as the government and idf soldiers? Too often I see this mindset that because they’re civilians and presumed to be away from any bloodshed, they suddenly can’t be perpetrators of any colonial violence (which is a narrative I see parroted in media as well) and it’s pissing me off. Because at the end of the day, they’re still settler colonialists. If they were truly just ignorant to the genocide, why would they be making TikTok’s mocking the deaths of Palestinian children and their mothers? If they were truly unaware, why would they be blocking the aid trucks, preventing food medicine and help to Gaza? If they were truly not the enemy, why did they gather together to watch Gaza be blown up by their own military?

I’m not saying they should all be killed. But we can’t absolve them of all blame either.

I’ve started reading Ramesh Menon’s “A modern retelling of the Mahabharata” and Amba and Bhishma made me cry so much I thought I was going to throw up. I’ve always been interested in the Mahabharata but never knew where or which version to read. After some research I was recommended Ramesh Menon’s and wow. One thing I’m curious about is, did Bhishma love Amba and only refused her due to his oath. In Menon’s book, which I was told was the best English rendition to read, it’s expressly mentioned that he loved her. In the og Sanskrit version is he mentioned to love her or is it just one sided?

Important update! Please read!

First, we want to once again deeply thank everyone again for donating to and sharing the campaign to help @moatazart, Mariam, and Maria evacuate Gaza for Egypt! They were able to transfer the money they raised into Egypt and begin the required paperwork!

Unfortunately, complications have arisen

The original sum ($20,000) included the cost of traveling to and entering Egypt for all three of them, as well as basic expenses required for starting a new life in a new country. In numbers, that is ($5,000•3 people)+$5,000=$20,000.

However, the cost of transferring the money was more than 20% of the initial sum, over $4,000. This was so high that nearly all of the money alotted for living expenses is now gone. Their paperwork is started and they are preparing for the dangerous journey south, but as of right now, they have nothing to live off of once they reach Egypt (God willing).

It is frustrating and disappointing that it costs an additional +20% just to begin the process of reaching safety. Now, Moataz, Mariam, and Maria are in need of $4,000 in order to be able to have a place to stay and money for food in Egypt. The goal of this fund is $5,000 because it is now known that 20-25% of funds transferred will be lost to fees. $1,000 will go toward these fees, while $4,000 will cover living expenses.

Please help this family rebuild their lives! If you cannot donate, please reblog Moataz’s post and this post, repost the fundraiser link on your own blogs, and on your other social media accounts.

Hello, I am from Gaza, due to the shortage of medicine in Gaza, my mother who is a type 1 diabetic and was supposed to undergo urgent eye surgery, has not been able to get insulin or any medical care for the past three months. .
