Hi this guy from your vlog - the heart on the car guy - is he a close friend you can trust? Or someone from the internet? If he's not someone you know too well please stay safe - I don't mean to make you paranoid but the heart left on the car might have been a way to scope out whereabouts you live. And now you've confirmed where you live.. stay safe!
He’s someone I have met before! We have hung out a few times, so we do know each other irl. We aren’t like *~*~bffs*~*~ but I also know the area he lives (which is hella far from mine). I shall be careful though and all my very close friends are aware of the situation and know where I live- just to be safe :D <33

is it possible/common to do double majors/minors at eiu or at korean colleges in general? im considering either linguistics and visual arts double major or a linguistics major with a double minor in 2 languages ;-; thank you so much for taking the time to answer ❤️❤️❤️
I just woke up so i’m sorry but- eiu?? And yeah it’s no problem! Fairly easy process. I’m actually a double major and it took like 5 seconds to apply for it online. Usually you join with 1 and then add later

~15~ Visa/Arc/Gap Semester/etc
Hello everyone~ So first of all, this seems to be the end of my online ambassador postings. I don’t think I will be continuing the next semester, so I will try to peek on this Tumblr now and again to answer questions. All the resources will stay up, but i’m not sure how often i’ll check in...
So now this topic was a bit broad, but very important. I get TONS of questions about ARC cards and VISA’s etc.. First off, when you want to come abroad, you need to get your visa. This means you will need your letter of acceptance and a few other documents. You should check with your states/country requirements about this, as I don’t want to be your legal adviser and end up giving wrong information :(
Once you have your visa, you can get your ARC! Actually, when you get to Ewha, Ewha will help you with this! However, unless the process has changed, I actually chose to do this myself. I think, Ewha would have to have my passport for a while, or something along those lines, and since it was my only “ID” at the time, I decided to just DIY the ARC process and I had the card mailed to me!
Now once you’re at Ewha for a while, you might want to take a semester off or so! Ewha allows this and it seems like a fairly easy process. However, you can’t just decide to not show up for the semester, you will need to give Ewha a warning (or I think you can apply online). Make sure you keep up on the notifications on when to apply for this! If there’s an emergencies during the school year, you should contact Ewha ASAP and follow whatever steps/advice they give for your situation.
Good luck~

Hi! I saw that you mentioned that there was an LGBT club at Ewha, is there anything else you can tell us about it? The fact that it's there is making me feel a lot more safe (if that makes sense?) and accepted
I don’t know too much about it personally. I’ve heard a lot about Ewha actually having quite the Lesbian/Bi community, but I still think a bit of it is underground? However ive never heard anything bad against the LGBTQ community and actually think Ewha is one of the more liberal unis in Korea! Especially as foreigners, a lot of the other foreigners seem to be open to others who are LGBTQ!

[14] Ewha vs. American Unis
Hey guys! So today we are going to talk about some of the differences of Ewha vs Unis back at home in america! There’s a LOT of things to compare, so i’ll just try to stick to a few. keep in mind, i’ve never been to an American university before, so my views are kinda from the outside (?) so if you have anything to add, just send me a message :D
1. Safety
Korean uni’s are superrrrrrrr safe. Now when I talk about safety in Korea, Korea is safe RELATIVE to other places. Nowhere is 100% safe, but I feel a lot more comfortable on Ewha campus, than I did in my own highschool. Security guards, CCTVS, ID checks after hours, You need an ID to get into most places on campus as well, so The campus is pretty safe! I don’t know many American unis that take safety so strictly, but I do love how much effort Ewha has!
2. Social life
With no Frats or sororities, it might be harder to make friends as a foreigner. Most people tend to go on MT’s, or trips with their major once they enter as a freshman. Most of our “parties” happen in public spaces, meaning, not so much a house party, but lots of kids go clubbing or out drinking in public spots, not private homes. Clubs are quite popular here too though, but many foreigners are a bit timid to join.
3. Classes
Classes are a bit more tricky to touch on, as I have no experience in America. Most students in Korea tend to take around 6 classes a semester (at least from what I have heard and what my friends and I take), and also Korea is surprisingly huge on group projects! Ever semester I have several to do, not sure if anyone I know in America has as many as me!
So yeah! These are the 3 big comparisons I think I have to make with Ewha vs/ American unis! There’s tonssss of unis in America, and in Korea, so it’s not universal, so feel free to tell me your experiences too :D

Hello !
Hi Gwen !! Really love your channel ! I wanted to ask you, i’m going to study during the Fall semester in Hannam University in Daejeon and I wanted to know if you’ve ever been to Daejeon and if you have what is it like compared to Seoul? Thanks youuu !
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Never been around Daejeon but I have heard a lot of good things about it! I heard it’s fairly new? So maybe it won’t be /as/ popping as seoul but in many of these newly developed cities the gov gives extra attention so whatever is there, is probably a lot nicer/newer than what we may have!!! Let me know how it goes :D

This is gonna sound so creepy- but I'm pretty sure I just saw you a bit ago at sinchon station but I was too nervous to say hello and I didn't want to bother you;-;
OMG You can bother me whenever you want!!!! 100% Won’t be creeped if you say “Seoulbot”. Trust me, i’m more nervous to meet y’all than the other way around HAHAHA (Also i’m always in Sinchon/Ewha so it’s 99% likely me even tho i’ve been bus’ing a lot lately)

hi!! trans guy anon again~ i plan on majoring in linguistics and yonsei doesnt really have a linguistics program. it has "(language) and (language)'s linguistics" which is fine bc i wanna also work with languages in college but its not preferred. snu has a decent looking lgbtq club too. im more worried abt the fact that im a trans guy going to an all female university and how that would affect my dysphoria. thank u for helping tho! im gonna look into ewha more just in case!
Okay! Best of luck on your decisions and if there’s anything else I can help with just let me know!

Hey Gwen! I wanted to ask about this because I'm really curious and I haven't seen it being mentioned anywhere before; Do Korean Universities limit you in applying for what you want (i.e If your undergrad was in Law and you want your grad to be English or something)Do they only let you apply for a graduate degree that is the same or similar to your undergrad or are you free to choose whatever you like? Also thank you for all the helpful information and posts. Stay awesome!
I know almost nothing about Grad school so I hope someone else can pitch in but I would assume you could apply for whatever, but priority will probs be given to those with related degrees?

hi gwen! is your visa single entry? im wondering bc i received my visa to study abroad at ewha for a whole year (well, the fall and spring semester) and it says single entry, and im worried that i won't be able to enter back to korea after going home for the break between fall and spring semester. please let me know if you have any insight! tysm!
Mine is multiple! I’m not sure all the single entry rules so I would check online or call an immigration office for details!
