FBAA/AKOFAF/TCOGB SPOILERS/RANT

I’m sorry, but can all the people who shit on Poppy for not knowing things or how many questions she asks put themselves in her shoes for like FIVE FUCKING SECONDS?? My girl was out here with SEVERE religious/purity culture trauma, not to mention the mental and physical abuse she endured for YEARS. She had to literally steal from the library if she wanted to read a novel. Any time she thought to question what she was being told she was gaslit and made to question her own worth as a person. The fact that she even knows anything beyond the approved history/religious texts she was allowed to read is a testament to her own ingenuity and determination.

AND THEN she learns that her questions were not in vain and quite literally everything she was taught was a lie?? Can you imagine how that must have felt? To have to basically relearn EVERYTHING?? As someone who shares quite a bit of that religious trauma it really fucking bothers me when people call her annoying or are bothered by her trust issues and lack of knowledge. And what I love about Casteel is he NEVER makes Poppy feel less than for not knowing about the world. Why can’t readers do the same?

It was so satisfying as Cas gets to see how much Poppy loves him and how she’ll go down defending him, as he’s never experienced that all encompassing love in a relationship before from both sides, as we know with the clues we get of his past with Shea it was way more one sided. He’s finally experiencing what love should be like with Poppy!

Ok but I kinda love this because, jealousy issues aside, I think it's nice for Casteel to hear. Like Casteel is always threatening people and defending/being really protective of Poppy and I think it's nice for him to hear Poppy being just as protective of him as he is of her. They're really a "you touch my wife/husband you die" couple and I love that for them

MORE BOOKS NEED THESE DETAILS it’s so simple to add in those little things in the writing in books, but it adds so much as a dynamic for two characters
