Marv Group CEO Zygi Kamasa has said that filmmaker Matthew Vaughn is plotting “something like seven more Kingsman films” as part of the company’s expansion plans.

“We want to grow the business and the output,” Kamasa told the Winston Baker UK Finance Summit late last week. “We have a Kingsman TV series in the works and there are two-three other franchises that are being developed alongside the Kingsman world.” Through two movies, the Kingsman franchise has grossed $825.2M. Covid-delayed prequel The King’s Man is due to hit cinemas in February of next year for Disney. Starring Ralph Fiennes, Daniel Bruhl, Stanley Tucci, Gemma Arterton, Matthew Goode, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Djimon Hounsou, the film could feasibly take the series past $1BN.

The pub scene with Eggsy and Harry has a lot of revealing moments about Eggsy’s life, both past and present, but I think no line is as revealing as this one:

This statement comes after Harry has told Eggsy about Eggsy’s father; that he was a brave and good man, a selfless hero, an admirable and honorable man, and then immediately insinuated that Eggsy was none of those things. The interesting thing is that Eggsy doesn’t deny it. “You can’t talk to me like that; Yeah, well, when you grow up around someone like my step-dad, you pick up new hobbies pretty quick; Because my mum went mental; We ain’t got much choice.” He never once says ‘You’re wrong’ because, while initially offended and hurt by Harry’s brashness, Eggsy doesn’t actually disagree. He didn’t see himself as a brave and good young man, selfless, admirable, or honorable.

In fact, the single good thing he can say about himself is that he is loyal and can be trusted.

But Harry wasn’t being hurtful for the sake of being hurtful. He was testing Eggsy. By saying what he did and accusing Eggsy of leading a life his father wouldn’t have wanted for him, Harry wanted to see if Eggsy cared; if there was a passion, a fire, in him—the same passion and fire Harry had seen in Lee all those years ago. And after testing Eggsy’s loyalty and seeing that he was indeed trustworthy, Harry knew everything he needed to know about Eggsy: that Eggsy was a brave and good young man, a selfless, admirable, and honorable man his father truly would have been proud of.
