I just want a place to rant about Seraph because I have something to rant about it probably once a week (if not more). I love this story, and am *slightly obsessed with it... my rants will include stuff from the anime, manga, and light novels. So if you don't want spoilers... run away while you still can!
during their first reunion, after yuu figured out it was mika and he started crying and walking forward, in front of everyone, in the spotlight, not asking how or why mika was alive, yuu apologized for running away
and the silence that fell on yuu after like he was waiting to hear mika’s response, if mika forgave him (even though it’s not yuu’s fault but yuu doesn’t understand that) just was so groundbreaking
someone probably made a post like this already but i’ll always cry over this chapter
This is the question I get often, like very often. Here’s all I have to say about it atm.
There was no official announcement about volume 3, and it looks like Kagami avoids mentioning anything about it for now, which likely means he’s not finished writing it, or, as another possibility, since volume 3 is hinted to be about Ferid’s past, it would spoil too much about him and his motifs if the release wasn’t timed right, so there might be a need to wait until the manga reaches a certain point. In any case, once something about it is confirmed, you’ll know it very fast, if not from me then from other blogs like namanari’s that keep up with everything OnS-related, so rest assured, you won’t miss it.
Considering that volume 7 of the Guren novel was delayed by half a year, my most optimistic estimates regarding when we might expect volume 3 of the Michaela novel would be July. But frankly, fall 2017 (probably October) looks more likely. So… still a lot of wait ahead.
Well, just in case, my reply will spoil volume 2 of the Michaela novel if you haven’t read it, so this is your cue to close the window and get out while you still can.
So I’ll just pretend that I meant to hold off posting last month’s ONS quiz until we got the answers in the most recent issue. Ya. Sorry ya’ll can’t win a new PlayStation 4.
Guess who’s frustrated because they keep getting GAME OVER messages over my Mikayuu decisions.
So this is what happens if you choose to run away with Mika when they meet at Shinjuku (right after Shinoa screams when she’s caught by Crowley). I’m really curious about what happens afterwards, like… will Mika still become a vampire? Where would they go live? How far would they go considering they are surrounded by vampires and the JIDA?
This is for @nara-maru, who had to endure me during all my rantings. Sorry and enjoy!
EDIT 2: Finally got the subtitles right (I think?). If there’s a problem just tell me, I promise I won’t bite lol
I don’t know what to make of the new discourse of Yuu faking all his smiles and suffering inside, other than I personally don’t see it.
If anyone can show me proof of any indication that Yuu does, in fact, hide his feelings behind his smile, I will gladly read.
On my end, I just don’t personally found any indication of such thing. For one, because, with characters like, say, Mika, there were several instances where the narrative showed us it was all a mask.
Exempt from the drama CD translated by @eccentranslations:
“He didn’t complain even once. Since he was the leader of the kids of the orphanage, he always smiled for everyone. But he was probably being driven into a corner. Which is why unlike an idiot like me, he went to the nobles in order to truly get us out of that world ruled by vampires.”
It was even further explained in the light novels.
Basically, the story itself was preparing us for the reveal that Mika was actually suffering from the beginning and had been hiding it from everyone the whole time.
On Yuu’s side, however, it’s not the case.
What the narrative has been showing us is that Yuu’s mentality is fucked up, but he doesn’t see this as an important matter, so long as he can be of use to his family.
This is definitely a twisted way of thinking, born from his obsession with his family and need of being loved by it. Definitely something that grew from his traumatic past, but not quite proof that his cheerful behavior is fake.
Rather, Yuu’s overly optimistic personality seems to be a defensive mechanism to the hardships he faces.
He truly, wholeheartedly believes he can save everyone and won’t take a no for an answer. He would so much as going to the point of killing himself for this motive. Asuramaru pointed it out many times already.
Yuu doesn’t care about this. He only cares about his family.
I’m really looking forward to see what he’ll do if he falls into the realization that he can’t save everyone, because I think this greedy “I can protect everyone” pov has also come from all his experiences in the past putting his life to its limits to save his family. So far his unorthodox methods have always worked positively for him in the end: he got Mika back, he got Guren back, he has been told he can bring the Hyakuya kids back.
What will he do if he fails? But most importantly: will Kagami let us see it?
The above pages are the first and last two of the chapter. Chapter 71 will be released in next month’s (October) issue which will be out on September 4th!
This was a quick job, so the editing is shoddy and therefore the images are not all the exact same size. Probably off by a few pixels length wise, width should be good. But it shouldn’t interfere with casual viewing (o^-^)b
warning: spoilers for the new chapter of Owari no Seraph (chapter 69)
haha okay WHY WAS YUU ALIVE A THOUSAND YEARS AGO
WHY WAS YUU ALIVE A THOUSAND YEARS AGO
WHY WAS YUU ALIVE A THOUSAND YEARS AGO
WHAT
and does that mean that this might be approving the headcanon that Mika and Yuu are like revived spirits descended from god or like Yuu and Mika were opposing rivals from heaven and hell that fell in love instead of conflicting with one another??
