Skyscrapers
These types of buildings are mostly made for the wealthy and appeal to those with luxury taste. It is hard to watch the skillful workers building these types of places and hear them talk about how they can only wish to afford things like this. I think the people putting their lives at risk to build these skyscrapers are more important than the function of the skyscrapers themselves.

They’re Made Out of Meat
Im not to sure what to think about the conversation going on in the video but what I took away from it is that they are confused about how the human body, which is made of meat, can do so much and think so much. I think this is an interesting concept because it is kinda crazy what are bodies can do considering that we are mostly just muscle and water.

Spent
The u.s has been struggling with poverty for a very long time and has been swept under the rug ever since. I believe dealing with unemployment would solve many of these issues especially because many people below the poverty line struggle to find jobs that suit their situations. The u.s can end poverty but i believe it is something they dont see as important.

The Hill We Climb
This poem makes me think about how others view america and gibes me a chance to step out of the bubble that i live in and hear how others find it a struggle living in this type of country. I think it is very important that we understand others points of view and realize how privileged we are.

Hound Dog
I find the evolution of this song interesting because as we move through generations each singer keeps the same idea and rhythm of the song but adds new cultural touches to it each time. I think this is evident in many things that get picked up by social media, especially songs, which can bring light to the old generation and appreciate it more for what it was.

Song Titles as Research
I think that for something like the US education system to change it needs to be criticized. If no one ever said anything about the lack of preparation the US education system has we would never realize that it is a problem and it will go unfixed. You need to identify what is wrong with a situation before you can start finding solutions and I think that not determining a problem or making it not seem like a big deal would do us more harm than good.

Everything is Lava
This reading made me think about my own experiences during the pandemic. I relate to the boy in the reading. I also found it hard to "do nothing" while having to isolate at home because I always found myself to be an active person who needed to keep myself busy throughout the day. Switching from in-person to online classes was also a struggle because it was hard to stay engaged for a whole school day when you were sitting on a computer all day. I think the pandemic was a struggle for everyone in their own way.

Bigger Fish or Bigger Pond
this podcast made me think about my experiences with the recruiting process for college soccer and how what team your on can majorly affect the type of colleges that see you play. If your a stand out player on a lower level team you will definitely be seen by college coaches but because of the lower rank of the team the colleges may not be as prestigious as you would like. I think it over all depends on the situation and who you are to determine which one matters more!

Constitution Day
I see the song and the video as an encouragement to get people to vote, this is important because even though people may not believe it their vote matters and it is very important to be i formed on what is going on in the world around you

Pizza Boxes
“keeping expenses low is more important than marginally improving the pizza experience”
this made me think about the fact that in america we always go for the more convenient and self serving option than the one that is smarter or more sustainable. we are more focused on ourselves and out benefits than the benefits of others
