Okay this is actually funny, I'm a long time Odd Squad fan, and recently I went ahead and watched the other famous kid's show with the word "odd" in the name... the fairly oddparents! Here are my thoughts (LONG):

Timmy would make a great Odd Squad agent. He's just the right amount of zany and clever. You can't change my mind.

(Well, you could change it if you convince me that he'd end up like Todd)

He, Chester, AJ, and Chloe are the "two agents, scientist, and boss" quartet

Olympia is what Chloe would've been if the writing in the final season was done properly

Jorgen and Oprah would lift cars together for fun

Meanwhile, I feel like Orchid would get along with both of the Flannigan sisters (Tootie and Vicky) for some odd reason

Crocker and Todd are the same amount of unhinged (well, I think Todd hangs on to his sanity a little more, which is saying something)

It's actually insane how similar these shows are, what with the dumb adults and "ridiculous, dangerous, and scientifically impossible" shenanigans. I'm tempted to say they're in the same universe.

And if they are, Odd Squad is in contact with Fairy World for sure

Fairy godparents are absolutely the source of all the Oddverse's chaos. Dang godkids never unwished any of the flying books and sea monsters they poofed up, so the child government agents have to undo it 🙄

Cosmo and Wanda have the serious/silly partner dynamic! The only difference is that every single "silly" partner (Otto, Olympia, Omar, Orli) has way more brain cells than Cosmo lol

That being said, I'm actually glad I watched Odd Squad first. I learned so much from OS as a kid education-wise, and as funny as FOP is, I wouldn't have gotten that. Plus, the last three seasons are... not so great. It's like the epitome of seasonal rot.

Also, compared to FOP, OS feels more... grounded? I can't believe I'm saying that about Odd Squad of all things, but FOP was on a whole new level. It felt like every other episode was written on drugs, with the way the plot went off the tracks. Special mentions go to the episodes Moving Day (think MLP's 28 Pranks Later but more unhinged), Beach Bummed (Timmy wishes to be hot and accidentally turns into the Hulk, then gets chased by the air force), and Just Desserts (I can't even begin to describe that one...), and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Those are just the three I thought I'd mention.

Oh, one more! They both got 2024 reboots that I've had no time to watch all the way through! I do know of their basic plots though

TLDR: Fairly OddParents and Odd Squad both rock, and are super similar in a lot of ways, but Odd Squad is better overall

Honestly, I have seen VERY little of FOP, but what I have seen...really wouldn't be so out of place in Odd Squad.

...Which reminds me, there actually IS an FOP episode called "The Odd Squad". Never watched it, and it predates Odd Squad by far too much to be a reference, but the way I laughed when I found out both shared a name lmao
