You didn’t say a word, just huffed and turned to walk away. Only you didn’t get but a few steps before he was gripping your wrist and smoothly turning your back in his direction.

“Don’t touch me!” You shouted, yanking your wrist out of his already loosening hold.

“You don’t want to dance?” He asked, his eyes shifting into sweet, puppy dog ones.

“I was dancing with someone until you rudely interrupted.” While you had been silently begging for someone to save you from dancing with the sweaty, greasy, uncoordinated fool you hadn’t meant for this oaf of a cowboy to do it the way he had.

The man rolled his eyes. “Oh come on, I didn’t say anything he didn’t need to hear and it got him away.” He wasn’t wrong and you hated that, but you weren’t going to reward bad behavior. No matter how handsome the man displaying it was.

“You don’t know what I wanted because you don’t know me! And I don’t know you and I don’t want to because god I already hate you.” Okay that was a lie, you didn’t hate him but you also didn’t not hate him.

Almost as if he could sense it that charming, shit eating grin stretch across his face again.
