So, uh, how are you feeling after that 4/20 debacle?

"I had felt weird a few days after. I'm never accepting sweets from strangers ever again."

Midori awoke with a minor headache. He groaned as he put a palm on his head. "My head... That was an... odd dream... What on Jupiter happened yesterday..? I cannot recall anything..."

Hey Greenie are you still high?

"Witchy! We have a talking fox in the house! Get your broom!"

Midori is decked out in a trenchcoat and a gas mask, two unnecessary pieces of gear in this time of year, but for him, it was necessary, as he is going on an important mission: Finding the source of that particular smell, you know the one.

"Why are you dressed like that?" Witchy asked.

"Today, I am going to get to the bottom of where that smell is coming from." He answered.

"Didn't you shower today?"

"Yes, after my training exercise after lunch, but I am not referring to myself."

"What smell you mean then? That "4/20" smell?"

"Yes. You should stay inside."

Witchy shrugged. "I wasn't planning on going out today, but good luck."

"I'm going to need it." Midori leaves.

[A Short While Later]

Midori comes home, but he seems... out of it.

"Midoribon! You're back! How'd it go?"

He didn't reply as he wordlessly went to the sofa to lie down. He looks like a cat on catnip.

"Uh, Midori?" She went over to him and waves a hand in his face, but he doesn't react at all.

"Master, are you okay?" He was starting to scare her.

"It went... I don't know..." He finally answered to the first question, though he spoke a bit oddly.

"What is wrong with you?"

"There waaaas no smeeell, but I'vvve found the delinquentsss, but they offeredd ssommme brownnnies with strawberriess in them. They were soooo good, I had a few." He paused for a bit too long. "Aaaaand they might've been laaaced with soooomethiiiing, and noow... I feel weiiiird, but gooood."

He slowly turned to her. "Was your face alllways covered in stars?"

Witchy was pretty weirded out by the way Midori is acting, and she has no idea what to do about it. "Ummm... Yeah... Maybe you should stay inside for a bit."

"I can tassste colllooors."

"Three showers and I still kind of smell..."

"You need a mask?" Witchy says as Ryuusei holds a mask on its hilt, within Midori's reach.

"No, it's... bearable." He did put some deodorant on to hopefully mask the faint smell of gross. He also (reluctantly) took some medicine to help with his sore throat, and it seems to be helping, though his voice still sounds rather rough.

He sighed. "First I become a wereron, then a zombie. What next? A bonpire?"

"Don't jinx it."

"... Right."

"Come on, take it!" Witchy shouts while wearing a mask as she tries to get the tied up zombified Midori, now out of the magic bubble to take the potion that would turn him back to normal with no luck.

Midori turned his head away like a child who refused to take their medicine. "Blech..."

"Midori, this will cure you! Please stop being a baby and take it so I can still go to the Halloween Party!"

The zombie soldier just blows a raspberry, before staring intently at her arm.

Witchy immediately knew what that look meant. She moved away in time as he lunged at her, but being tied up, he didn't get far, and practically fell onto his face.

"Don't you try to bite me!" The zombie just groaned in annoyance. "You're still hungry, but you won't take the potion."

That's when an idea hit her. There was still a strawberry puff left over since it didn't fit on the tray. Maybe she could cover the puff with the antidote and trick him into eating it!

She goes to kitchen, gets the left over strawberry puff, covers it with the antidote, and brings it over to the fallen zombie. "Oh Zombidori, brought you something.~"

The zombie smelt it before he saw it. He lifts his head up to confirm what he smelt. "Stawberrr... pof..?"

Witchy placed the puff in front of him and he hopped onto it and ate it immediately. His content face contorted to a disgusted one once he tasted the antidote, and spat out what little he didn't swallow.

He glared up at the witch with a snarl before suddenly moving around erratically and making noises as the antidote took effect. Before long, he goes unconscious, but his skin tone goes back to its original color as he is being brought back to life.

When fully back to normal, he opens his blues eyes as he comes to, no longer are they glossed over like before. "Wha... What...?" His voice still sounded raspy, but that's due to a now sore throat.

He sits up and looks around, bewildered. "That was... so strange..."

"Great! You're back to normal!" Witchy unties him before pointing to the bathroom. "Now go take a shower. You reek so bad."

"Huh?" He lifts an arm up to smell himself and immediately recoils. He smells like an awful mix of sweat, death, and strawberry puffs. No wonder Witchy was wearing that mask.

"No need to ask me twice." He gets up and heads to the bathroom to shower, for a long time. His bandana and beret also need to have an extensive cleaning.

The zombie sergeant pounded on the magic bubble with rigor. "Rrrrm... hunger... Borrrderrrland..." He moaned in a raspy voice.

"I just gave you a bunch of burgers. How are you still hungry?"

"Wan... strberrberrs..."

"Huh? Oh, you want strawberries? Sure, I guess." Witchy heads for the kitchen, then comes back with a tray of strawberry puffs, Midori's favorite sweet.

Seeing the strawberry puffs, the zombified sergeant started pawing at the bubble's wall in an attempt to bust out to get his treats. "Pof... wan... stawberrs pofs..."

"Whoa whoa. Easy now." Witchy ushers him to calm down with one hand. "I'll just teleport them in like I did with the burgers." Her hand sparkles with magic before covering the tray of sweets, then said tray of sweets gets teleported into the middle of the magic bubble.

Zombie Midori wasted no time stumbling over to them, and then trips face first into them with a comical splat. There was a pause, with Midori just laying there for a second, before he went on to eating them up. He seems content, all things considered.

"Hmm... I wonder what has happened to your sergeant, Witchy... Would you mind elaborating...?"

"He got thirsty after training a bunch outside, and thought it was a good idea to take a sip of a prank potion I was working on brewing in my cauldron." She says as she briefly looks up from her potion recipe book to give undead sergeant a look.

The zombified soldier rolled his eyes and groaned from annoyance.

"I at least now know that I did the potion wrong, but now I have to find an antidote to fix Midori, as potion spells gone wrong don't always wear off on their own."

Of course something had to go wrong.

Witchy had Midori, who looked much greener than usual, contained in a magic bubble.

His eyes were somewhat glossed over, and he was groaning with the occasional babbling about Borderland or something while pounding against the magic bubble every now and then. Basically, he is a zombie, but he seems to still have some sentience.

Witchy was looking up potion recipes to hopefully find a cure.

"Of course I would! It would be rude of me to decline an invitation from Mizuirobon."

"Yes? A lot of games feature our kind in them."

His father couldn't get the time off due to something coming up, so Midori took it upon himself to at least make one of his dad's favorite desserts for him: a Black Forest Gateau, with a little help from Witchy as well.

Once finished, he put the treat in a nice box before he and Witchy visit his father during his downtime to deliver it to him. They couldn't stay long, but they did get to talk to him and catch up while sharing some the Gateau before they had to leave and their dad having to go back to work.

Even the little time they got to spend with one another was fun.

"I have the Green version, but I have not gotten around to finishing it, not to mention that some of the sprites are... rather off-putting."
