Women are allowed to express themselves masculinely for one, saying they're not allowed to is bio-essentialist bullshit… TERF.

Gender expression and identity are different, have you not ever heard of butch? Have you not ever heard of a tomboy?

And even then, completely ignoring intentional/desired gender expression. We should absolutely not put down women for not fitting into hyper feminine stereotypes. A black cis woman almost got arrested for using the women's bathroom not that long ago because she looked "too much like a man" which is an extremely layered nightmare situation with both racism and transphobia.

Projecting this same mindset of hyperfemininity onto trans women believe it or not harms trans women and reinforces bio essentialism. Trans women should not have to strive for unrealistic standards of femininity not every women needs to look like they'd could be on the cover of Vogue.

It's extremely transmisogynistic to deny the reality that trans women who have any masculine features whether they want them or not don't face discrimination because of those features. Trans women even in "trans-friendly" communities will often be seen as uncomfortable to be around if they aren't playing up to some hyperfeminine standard because the people there are literally seeing them as men. Playing fully into the "trans women are just men pretending to be women to prey on people" bigotry.

So yes, I think it is very nice and good and benefits trans women greatly to not sit there treating any trait associated with masculinity as a danger. Especially for trans women who do not "pass", especially for trans women who choose to keep certain "masculine" features.

Yes, I think people, especially queer communities should absolutely stop playing into TERF rhetoric overall.
