Hey so I was thinking abt my dragon kintype and I'm kinda curious abt something so... Poll!
Dragons of any kind and any origin many answer! If an identity of yours can be described as a dragon, draconic, or in any way related to dragons (wyverns, kobolds, sea serpents, wyrms, drakes, hydras, etc), go right ahead!
This is based on humanity's current basis for taxonomic organization of vertebrates. For example: a reptilian dragon would lay eggs, have scales, and be cold blooded. An avian dragon would lay eggs, have feathers, and be warm blooded. A fish-like dragon would be cold blooded and breathe water. A dragon made of light, or plants, or any other non vertebrate animal thing, would be "something else entirely/not applicable". Etc, you get the point.
I'm making this bc I've realized that my dragon kintype (light fury from HTTYD) isn't fully reptilian: I have scales (and no fur or feathers) and lay eggs, but I'm also warm blooded. So... not quite reptilian, not quite mammalian, but something in between or of its own category. So I would pick "multiple/some combination" on this poll. I feel like a lot of dragons might relate to this experience, of feeling like no category exactly fits.
I hope this makes sense! Reblogs are appreciated!! Feel free to share your specific perspective in the comments or tags <3
Do not make the MISTAKE of thinking you need to put your side forward. The Guardian is transphobic as fuck, and will twist your words. DO NOT ENGAGE.
By the way, this is in the aftermath of the Cass Report, and the goal will be to make Trans DIY something that needs to be regulated or stamped out. DO NOT ENGAGE.
Medieval Monsters is a brand new zine I’ll be releasing online THIS SATURDAY!
It’s all black and white ink illustrations made in a style that is (hopefully) a mesh between traditional art of the times but with some of my flavour flav 😏
This is like complaining that all canines aren't wolves anymore and that fandom is solely responsible for the Chihuahua -- ignoring all cultural context why chihuahua's exist and what purpose they served.
All types of dragons exist in mythos and they don't have to be philosophical and riddle-speaking to be Real Dragons.
Tag yourself if you're Anon's nightmare. A lizard with wings.
I know the word dragon is a wide term for many different types of beast and every dragon is different but honestly, I feel like dragon kind has been way to commercialized by fandoms that it migrated to alterhuman spaces
I’ve seen less dragons that are ancient philosophical beasts and more dragons that are just “lizards with wings”
And I’m not saying “you can’t be a dragon because you don’t act like this!” All I’m saying is that fandoms watering down what dragons are could affect how nonhumans perceive dragons and it could make them wrong about being/not being a dragon
A dragon from Librum Prodigiosum ! The Jawzahr dragon, this immortal beast comes from Persian mythology! After being banished, he chases the sun and moon, causing eclipses- though the celestial bodies always escape!
