When I’m working abroad, and a colleague gives me a strange look and asks me to go to a quiet place with him, I know it’s one of two things: he just resigned from his job, or he has scrumptious tea to spill.

But when I’m in the Philippines, and a friend gives me a strange look and asks me to go to a quiet place with him, I say no. Because that’s probably not him.

Engkanto, our local word for fae, live in the provincial parts of my country. They show up as someone you know, but there’s something always off in their eyes. They steal people away either for bothering their home or for having supernatural gifts they covet.

But to be honest, they tend to be really kind and loving towards those they take. So much so that if those people ever come back, many end their lives in hopes that it will bring them back to the other realm.

These otherworldly beings abandon cities. They live in trees and hate noise. They retreat where it is calm and lonely. Where it still feels like the world they were born into. Not the one we humans constructed.

If that sounds scary, know that being in a place where malicious fae abound has its benefits too. It means my magic is stronger here.

Instead of prophetic dreams, I get waking visions.

When I cast a protection spell, more spirits come to my rescue.

And when I cast a curse, more creatures deliver my wrath.

Traditional Spell for Changing the Weather

Resharing this old post because we did it this morning, successfully. There had been many weeks of no sunshine in my part of the world, and mild Vitamin D deficiency symptoms were starting to show.

There are witches who accidentally conjure the rain when they are sad… thunder when they are mad… sunshine when they are glad. Unfortunately, if this is not something you have noticed yourself capable of, you will need other witches’ help. Because changing the weather demands a wealth of power.

THE INSTRUMENT

Acquire a bell at least as big as your hand. The material is of no consequence. Brass, plastic, glass. As long as the bell rings when shaken.

THE CATALYSTS

Four practitioners are needed. A Fire-dominant witch. An Earth-dominant. An Air-dominant. And a Water-dominant. Someone to represent each of the elements. Otherwise, the weather will not bend.

Make sure that all of you agree on the weather you wish to attract and when you want it to come.

THE BANISHING

Day or night, in a quiet and private place, let the four of you gather. Sit around the bell, hold hands, and close your eyes.

Together, chant these words four times: Dum turbor procul cedant ignis grandas tonitrua. Fulgor fames pestis gladius Satan et homo malignus.

Memorize it beforehand. It is meant to drive away other entities that are manipulating the weather in your environment, freeing it up for your own request.

THE CONJURATION

Using any sharp metal, such as a knife or an ice pick, write around the bell the reverse of the words you uttered.

The Earth-dominant should start the engraving. “Sungilam omoh te Natas.” With these words, he or she will summon the weather you all desire.

Followed by the Air-dominant. “Suidalg sitsep semaf rogluf.” With these words, he or she will convey when you want the weather to come.

And then the Water-dominant. “Aurtinot sadnarg singi.” With these words, he or she will ensure this weather can do none of you any harm.

Finally, the Fire-dominant. “Tnadec lucorp robrut mud.” With these words, he or she will seal the ritual.

THE PAYMENT

This spell is a kind imploration to nature, not a command. You are not demanding anything from anyone. Therefore, payment is not required.

However, nature is capricious. So if you conjure cold weather, you will enjoy the breeze but could later get a cold. Or if you summon hot weather, you will enjoy the sunshine but its touch could be too warm at times. Short-term side effects. Nothing too perplexing.

THE AFTERMATH

If you pronounced the chant phonetically and spelled the carvings correctly, the weather you conjured should arrive when you want it.

Given the above, the spell could only fail if the four catalysts were not in fact the right kind of dominant, or were not in complete agreement in what you desired.

Once the spell has given you the weather you asked for, the bell becomes a talisman — charged with the power of the four elements. So each time the weather is bothering you, just a few shakes of your bell will have you feeling more than well.

I love how real traditional astrology is offensive in the Western world.

Leo is a masculine sign. Apollo. Sun. Lion. That is why Leo men are more mentally stable than Leo women.

Taurus is a feminine sign. Venus. Sirens (throat and vocal cords). Sensuality. That is why Taurus women are more beautiful than Taurus men.

Libra is a sign of equality: masculine and feminine. The scales. Balance. Justice. That is why Libra men and women are equally stable and beautiful.

Negative aspects to the Fourth House are hoped for by children looking to inherit from their father’s death.

Mothers would ensure that their sons do not marry a woman with her Moon in Scorpio, because that indicates madness and hysteria.

This is why I don’t share much about astrology. Because there’s no audience for the kind that my elders taught me.

I have noticed a big shift in my practice.

I've said years ago that my channel is my platform for service — a way of giving back positive energy, which the craft endlessly delivers to me.

But before, I performed these readings completely the way I wanted. I'd choose the topics, and ask for divine guidance on how to interpret the messages, but I did them my way.

Now, I've been receiving a lot of "calls". They sound like, "Please say this"... "Someone needs to hear this"... "Can you tell them this?"... "This is for somebody who..."

So it's not my decision per se to do these channelled messages. But as it's how I serve, I answer the calls anyway. Even if I know that not as many people will resonate with them compared to my usual Pick a Cards.
