“How about we save each other?” lowly spoke an unusually sombre Freddie. “I did something really stupid, and I need to do something distractingly stupid so I can forget that really stupid thing I did in the first place.” The possibilities of the distractingly stupid things they could do had almost brought him out of his funk. Almost. “How about it, McKinnon? Wanna do something stupid with me?”
“Please do not tell me that you broke into any more apartments” he spoke in a joking tone shaking his head a little as he raised to his feet pressing the phone between his shoulder and his ear. To most it would sound like Frederick was a crazy but Seth had grown used to his antics. “Alright, I could go for some stupid right now” he answered as he crossed the room slipping on a pair of trainers. “Where are you?” he asked almost afraid to hear the answer.

Oakleigh shrugged. Her apartment screamed nothing of her. It seemed like a princess lived in the penthouse. It was filled of soft pink and cream colors. Fluffy blankets and chandeliers were found in numerous rooms in the building. Fashion magazines sat neatly on the glass coffee table, ones the girl had yet to even touch. “Want anything? Maybe some wine?” Red wine was her favorite drink. She started walking toward the kitchen before noticing his bag. “May I?” she asked, pointing at the item. Without waiting for his answer she lifted it up by it’s strap and putting it neatly in the floor of the coat closet, out of the way.
As he looked around he frowned a little, it really wasn’t what he expected at all, almost as if she had decorated the place to give an unrealistic impression of herself to others, he decided however to keep his mouth shut, it wasn’t his place to judge. “Maybe just a glass of water, I can’t do wine this early in the morning, I’ll be asleep before the sun sets” he answered shrugging his shoulders a little, he liked to drink when the time was right but day drinking wasn’t a habit of his. “Oh by all means” he answered and chuckled softly, it was sweet how she seemed to want to keep her place pristine. “So was there anything you had in mind to watch?” he asked as he took off his shoes making a point to place them neatly on a shoe rack to the side shooting a look in her direction as he did so.

Oakleigh shook her head, quickly regretting the decision. “Stay.” She took his hand, gently leading him back into her apartment. Just like any other time, her room was in pristine condition. The only thing out of place was a single wine glass drying on the counter top along with a pair of heels by the front door, “We can watch a movie? Well, try to watch a movie. I don’t know how far into it I’ll make it.” she explained. The girl walked backwards toward the couch, leading him along with her, “Please? What if I get sick?” Though honestly, Oakleigh was never one to get sick after drinking.
“Leigh” he said softly as she spoke her words, he was about to argue that the last thing she wanted was him boring her to death right but somehow he still allowed himself to be lead into her apartment his eyes scanning the room as he did so, it was ridiculously tidy which surprised him. He was trying to think of a reason to turn back around but her words struck something in him and he paused letting out a defeated sigh, he knew he’d probably go to the moon for this girl if she looked at him the way she did then. “Fine” he answered and tilted his head a little, setting his bag down by the doorway he stepped into the room his eyes still scanning around. “Somehow this isn’t what I was expecting” he commented and smiled a little.

Oakleigh looked away, unable to make eye contact with the male, “I think all of last nights drinks are finally catching up with me.” She felt dizzy, weak, sick. Not that Oakleigh would ever admit to these things. She prided herself on being able to take care of herself and not reply on anyone. She wasn’t some princess that needs saving. She didn’t need him to baby her, no matter how much of a child she felt like.
Seth didn’t search for her eyes, he could tell that she didn’t want him to invade on her so he stepped back leaning his arm against the door frame and let her do as she wished. “To be honest with the amount you drink I’m surprised you can actually stand up” he teased to try and lighten the somewhat awkward silence before he chuckled a little. “Well I’ll leave you to sleep it off then” he added giving one last concerned glance in her direction and then pushing off the wall to head back the way he had come.

Note
what's your favorite childhood memory?
Seth’s favorite memory of his childhood was when his parents took him to the beach for the first time (or the first time he could remember anyway). His family were usually busy with work so for the first time all the attention was on him and he loved those precious hours they spend not worrying about the world around them, as a child he was pretty carefree but as he got older he found himself becoming more and more rigid and awkward.

“Well maybe dress the part from now on and we wont have to worry about it,” Oakleigh joked, “Besides, it’s not my fault they ended up broken. Stupid Finn pushed me in front of that damn train and I was a bit more worried about climbing back up before I got killed. I lost my favorite pair of shoes that night too. And Finn threw up on me.” The blonde sighed, “I hate when I get left to babysit Finn.” During her rant, Oakleigh looked down, noticing his hand in her’s. Her freshly painted nails poking out between his fingers, “I promise. I wont touch your glasses. Unless I get drunk, In that case I can’t make any promises.”
Seth raised his arms in defense as he grinned back at her “You can’t drag me out of the dorms and onto the roof with no warning and expect me to know what I’m dressing for Leigh” he argued and laughed shaking his head a little. Remembering the time she had taken his glasses and proceeded to get them crushed by a train he shrugged his shoulders “All I’m saying is me drunk and blind was a really bad combination” he argued nudging his shoulder gently against hers causing their hands to swing a little. Seth didn’t really know what exactly him and Leigh were, all he really knew was that he was happy when she was around. As they climbed into the helicopter he rolled back his shoulders preparing himself for the flight. “So what’s the plan?” he asked as he looked back at her for a moment.

“Huh?” Oakleigh asked, her head slowly looking up, “Oh. It’s 267.” As her nose brushed against his neck she felt his heart racing. Though Oakleigh was normally very confident, something about the way she felt his heart beating made her scared “You can put me down if you want,” she insisted, trying to make her voice not faultier.
As Seth stepped he noted the numbers on the doors heading in the direction of the room she had stated. Hearing her voice he couldn’t help but notice the tone that she spoke in and it intrigued him, he had never known her to be anything but this fiery ball of energy able to take on the entire world, it was strange to see another side to her. Reaching the door he set her down gently on her feet making sure to keep his hands on her elbows to help with her balance. “Are you going to be okay?” he asked his voice a little concerned as he looked at her.

Logan nodded in response, even though he knew that Seth couldn’t see him. “I can’t say that I disagree with you.” he chuckled, listening as he spoke to the other male. “I drink sounds pretty great. I could go for about seven right now.” he admitted, not even the slightest bit concerned that he sounded like an alcoholic. With the comment of his actual studying, Logan shook his head, chuckling again. “No, not exactly. I mean, it depends on what you consider studying. I’ve mostly just been staring at the few notes that I have written down, I don’t know if you’d consider that studying or not.”
“I guess that’s about the closest you get to studying Logan” he answered and chuckled softly, Seth was probably the best at keeping on top of his grades in the group but somehow the rest of the bridgade managed to pull their way through too and still get wasted most nights. “I don’t suppose you feel like ditching the half studying?” he asked debating the idea of going out drinking instead of studying, which for him was pretty new.

Oakleigh squeaked with excitement before running over to the helicopter. She returned a few moments later, offering the headpiece to the male. That was when she finally had a chance to look at his outfit, “What? You think we’re going to that stupid annual Yale Winter Party? Oh no. We’re doing this LDB style. In New York. And first things first, we’re getting in that helicopter and the second we land, we’re getting you something new to wear.”
“You know how much I hate flying right?” he grumbled with a half smirk in her direction as he took the headpiece she offered out and put it on. Sometimes he debated in his mind the things he wouldn’t do for this girl, there was something about her that made him let go of the usual fence he surrounded himself with. He gave her a disgruntled look as she mentioned changing his clothes but after a moment he gave in. “Fine” he conceded shaking his head “But there is no way in hell you’re making me go without my glasses again”. He chuckled softly as he walked towards the helicopter slipping his hand into hers as he did so.

Seth had no idea what was going on, he had been preparing for the winter event that was going on in town when Oakleigh had showed up and dragged him without a word, he was dressed in jeans and a plaid shirt paired with a jacket and his usual black framed glasses, enough to keep him warm on a winter night like tonight. As they reached the roof his eyes widened as he saw a helicopter and he stared down at the blonde who still had her hand latched around his wrist. “Leigh I..” he trailed off feeling a little out of place but after a moment he took a breath and rolled back his shoulders. You’re a member of the life or death for God sake he reminded himself before nodding his head. “Ah fuck it” he answered as he looked back at her wondering what her angle was with all of this, all he knew was that an evening with her certainly wasn’t the worst way he could spend his time.
@sethmckinnon
“Seth!” Oakleigh giggled. Both of her tiny hands were wrapped around his wrist, tugging him towards the spinning helicopter, “Do you know what all I had to go through to get Logan to let me borrow this?” She pouted finally deciding to pull off the sex card, “Seth.” She whispered, steeping closer, her hands still holding onto his, “Pretty please?” Due to her heels she now was tall enough for her nose to bush his cheek, “I wanna go ice skating. And see the lights.” The blonde had been dreaming about this for months, She had never been besides going to meetings and such with her father. And instead of her fancy attire, Oakleigh could no wear what she wanted. Even if it included a tight black dress that she would clearly be freezing in in a few hours.

As he stepped closer, Oakleigh looked up at him a bit shocked, “Um, hi?” The next thing she knew he had lifted her off the ground. A small squeak left her lips in shock, not expecting him to actually do it. Not to mention from the embarrassment of not even having time to brush her teeth this morning due to her sleeping on someone’s random couch the night before. She just hoped the mint she had found in the bottom of her backpack was enough, “Take your first left. Then up the stairs.” she instructed, her head resting on his shoulder.
He had to admit that he felt seriously out of his element in that moment, he didn’t exactly feel like he fit in well with the bridgade, sometimes he wasn’t sure how they all tolerated his natural awkwardness. Feeling dazed he followed her instructions heading down the hall and turning left before starting to walk up the stairs. He could feel her head nestled against his neck and he knew his heart was beating faster than it should. “I...uh...” he went to speak not really knowing what to say so instead he fell silent for a few moments. “Which room number is it?” he asked as he reached the top his eyes trailing to hers for a moment.

“Wouldn’t we have heard something if there was a fire? Like fire trucks? Someone screaming? At least a rumor or something?” As soon as the sun stuck her skin, Oakleigh turned her head, shielding her face in his side, “Seth.” she whined, “Trun the sun off. To bright.”
Seth mostly ignored her babbling and whining humming softly under his breath as he continued to lead her across the campus, he wasn’t exactly the biggest fan of public attention which tended to circle Oakleigh. As they reached the inside of the girl’s dorms he slowed to a stop turning towards her, he took a small moment to take a breath before he stepped a little closer. “You’re going to have to tell me where to go” he spoke softly before smirking and in one swift moment slipping one arm behind her back and the other under her knees and lifting her off the ground. He looked at her for a moment before realizing how closely their faces were and turned away a little.

Logan had been studying for a final - why, he honestly still wasn’t sure - and the words on the computer screen were starting to blur together. Nothing was really making sense anymore, and he just wanted something to distract him from the test he was already prepared to fail anyways. With his phone sitting next to his computer, he sighed, picking it up just as it started vibrating. “McKinnon.” Logan started, looking over the notes he’d handwritten all throughout class and looked back at his screen. “I’m guessing you’re studying too? Trust me when I say I feel your pain.”
Seth laughed as he glanced at the textbook sitting face down on the table “Yeah, well attempting to...” he answered leaning back in his chair a little “Honestly I think a drink sounds so much better right now” he added before pausing. “Hang on a minute.” he spoke bluntly “You’re studying?” he asked rhetorically and chuckled “Who are you and what have you done with Logan Huntzberger?” he questioned as he raised to his feet heading into the kitchen to see what was in the fridge, opening it he wrinkled his nose a little, he really needed to start keeping on top of general life things.

“And stairs.” Oakleigh added, “Stairs are not my friend this morning.” She tucked her bottom lip in between her lips, pondering for a moment, “I guess we can go to my place? Though I haven’t been there since yesterday. All I remember is a ton of take out and a faint smell of orange chicken. I might have left a candle burning too. Only issue, it’s upstairs. So either your carrying me, or I’m crawling.”
.
“Not the kind of stairs I meant” he commented with a chuckle listening to her babbling, he had to admit that she was probably one of the better drunks of the group, considering they all often risked their lives sober and all that. “Alright, your dorm it is” he answered not worried by the idea of carrying her, it wasn’t like there was much to carry she was so small. “Hopefully you haven’t burnt it to the ground.” he added as he tugged gently on her arm in the direction of the girls dorms.

Oakleigh softly shrugged, “Logan’s just protective is all. Like a prison guard. He’ kill me if he knew I drank this much to be honest.” As the blonde slowly followed after him, her fingers gripped tightly onto his shirt to keep her balance. “Where are we going? ‘cause my dorm is a mess.”
Seth kept walking at a decent pace ignoring anyone who stopped to gawk like they were crazy, he hated people who judged people but first looks. “Well you know, he does have half a point” he answered and laughed “Not that he can talk” he added after going through the exit doors, slowing to a stop he glanced back at her for a moment to answer “I don’t know, the plan was just to get away from” he waved in the air “stares” he added and sighed running a hand through his hair “Where do you want to go?”

As he used her nickname, Oakleigh’s eyes flicked up to the male’s. She couldn’t hold the smile back on her face. Something about him being the only once to call her that always made her little heart flutter, “You don’t have to miss class you know.” she explained, “Just-” she paused, looking around for a moment herself, “Point me in the direction of my dorm, or someone’s dorm.”
As he caught her gaze he returned her smile without a thought, there was something about her that could always make him smile. Hearing her words he chuckled “It’s not important” he brushed off her comments with a shrug of his shoulders, he normally did his best to attend his classes but there were often other things that came up thanks to the brigade. “Besides your brother will kill me if I leave you to pass out in the halls” he teased as he started walking towards the dorms going slowly to make sure she wasn’t going fall.
