This was a pretty experimental and fun project on the part of our musicians because internally we decided to make a concept album. The story? Each contributing musician’s mascot meeting the label’s mascot, Audrey! This one’s fun so we hope you enjoy listening to it :)

It began with a sound. A massive rumble like none heard before. It ripped through the cosmos, traversing dimensions, and in the wake of its massive energy, a caretaker awoke from the recesses of the universe. AUDREY A being destined to bring auditory order to life as we know it. With teeth sharper than the fabric of time itself, she bit open a hole in space, and peered into realms never before seen, never before heard. A pirate, a bunny and a bat, a pulsating box, and a monster. Her mission was clear. Something had brought new life to the universe, and it was up to her to find it, to understand it, and ensure its safe crescendo to a sound future. This begins her tale of an AUDVENTURE.

How tf is maebae unhealthy

Alright, listen, I welcome anybody to propose why they think the opposite of me. I’ve only played through NITW once so far so I only saw some of Bea and Mae’s conversations, but here is what I saw, what I understood.

Almost every interaction between Mae and Bea was a series of awkward trials and tribulations. Mae has the worst case of foot in mouth disease around Bea. Bea is highly unsupportive of Mae, with reason sure but her negativity does not encourage Mae to grow as a person. If anything it seems to put Mae further in the dumps and desperate to retrieve the friendship that once was.

In most of their interactions they are upset with each other, or at least someone is. In Bea’s apartment, on the road, in the forest, at the party, everywhere! Sure, they don’t fight every time, not so extremely anyway. That said, the numerous instances of it were so common it got to the point where I didn’t want to go hang out with Bea because I was sick of listening to the two argue. I just knew there would be an argument and I didn’t want to bother.

Bea is dealing with running a company, and Mae doesn’t understand the importance of the responsibility because she’s ignorant and has to deal with her own personal shit (which I won’t describe for spoiler reasons), which Bea can’t comprehend because Mae spends the longest time not having a real conversation about what happened at college. So Bea is always stuck being an adult, Mae always wants to take Bea out of adulthood but fails with some inconsiderate comment, Bea expresses how frustrated/hateful/jealous she is of Mae, and Mae can’t answer to this because she’s a wreck and doesn’t want anyone to know what’s going on.

Every interaction feels like frustration and sadness.

And I’m sure everyone wants to disagree by using the couch conversation, and you know what, yeah sure. I accept that they resolved their friendship, but I don’t accept that that suddenly makes them gel together for relationship purposes. Emotionally they still seem very at odds with one another and I think that constantly runs them the risk of falling into that conversational spiral which inevitably results in them hurting each other. 

Anyway that’s my two cents. I welcome anyone to argue me on this because obviously I haven’t seen the whole game and probably missed something.
