Editorial work is the creative lifeblood of a working photographer. Limited time, limited opportunity to make an impression. I recently wrote and photographed a feature for Iron & Air Magazine, surrounding the book release of Todd Blubaugh. Todd’s book Too Far Gone is a story of loss and reinvention, and it was a pleasure getting to sit with him for a bit to talk about it.

Steve West (of Silver Piston Jewelry) and I were cut from the same cloth. He’s been making custom and beautiful rings and accessories for men for the last handful of years, and when I asked him about a ring, he asked for some photos in lieu of payment.
Considering we both come from the garage world, I asked him if I could shoot something a little different than he’d been used to seeing with his pieces. He agreed, and I was happy to experiment outside the bounds of our usual boxes.
Many thanks to Lexi Stellwood for being my muse on this one, and Bobby Green for letting us use the Highland Park Bowl for some photos.

I let my instagram take a chill pill last week. So, the blog gets to home this little gem from the weekend. Party time in Portland with the best of friends.

Nicky Hayden and Kenny Roberts at WSBK. Thanks to CycleWorld for the assignment that finally got me on the grid at Laguna Seca.

I don’t get asked to do fashion all that often, so when I do it’s always a pleasure. Many thanks to the folks at Brylcreem for trusting me with their rebrand.

Carah Faye launched her solo career last night at The Troubadour. I grew up down the street from this talented lady, and have watched her career grow since she was singing for Shiny Toy Guns in 2003. It was wild to watch her pack one of the most iconic venues in Los Angeles for her first solo.

Steve, guitarist for Carah Faye, at the Troubadour last night in Hollywood. It’s been a while since I’ve shot a stage, it felt good to stretch those muscles and go back to where it all started.
