Final Reflection Video

Here is my final reflection video! Throughout this semester and self-study, I was able to learn a lot about stop motion and how much time, patience, and effort it takes to go into filmmaking. This creative process and self-study helped improve my creative skills with the different apps I used during this journey. I enjoyed posting on Instagram and documenting my process throughout this semester.

Whatʻs been happening over the past 2 weeks?

Over the past 2 weeks, I have been working on the post-production phase of my stop motion film.

Whatʻs coming up for the next 2 weeks?

I will be finishing editing my stop motion film and continue documenting and sharing my progress on Instagram.

Hiccups/Hurdles/AHA moments

While adding foley into my stop motion film, I realized how paying attention to detail is important in order for the sound to go with the action that is taking place on screen.

Over the past two weeks, I have started the post-production phase of my stop motion film.

Whatʻs coming up for the next 2 weeks?

For the next two weeks, I will be finishing up adding foley into my film and editing as well as continuing documenting that process and continue with my self study on Instagram.

Hiccups/Hurdles/AHA moments

I struggled a little bit with adding foley into my film as I tried to figure out what sounds would work and what sounds would not work. However, the more time I spent on adding foley, I was able to figure out what would work into my film.

Over the past two weeks, I have consistently documented my self-study and stop motion film progress on Instagram.

Whatʻs coming up for the next 2 weeks?

For the next two weeks I will be adding foley into my short stop motion film and documenting that process and continue with my self-study on Instagram.

Hiccups/Hurdles/AHA moments

I struggled a little with my time management as I griefed the loss of my grandfather and celebrated his life with family. However, I was able to finish my stop motion film and I am now going into the post-production phase of my self-study.

Since my last update, I have been continuing on working on my short stop motion film and consistently documenting my self study on Instagram.

Whatʻs coming up for the next 2 weeks?

For the next 2 weeks, I will be finishing with my stop motion film and working on adding sound and possibly music into the film. I will also be continuing documenting and sharing more content of my self-study on Instagram.

Luckily I have not encountered any hiccups or hurdles since my last update. However, I have been enjoying learning and creating my own stop motion film.

For the next 2 weeks I plan on finishing my stop motion film and start on the post-production phase of my film. I will also be continuing documenting and sharing more content of my self-study on Instagram.

My self study involves using Legos and I ran into the issue of building a coffee machine out of Legos and realized it was way too small for my film. I decided to take it out of my film and go with a different approach.

I do have a small draft of my stop motion film so far. I am also using a stop motion App to create my film.

Whatʻs been happening over the past 2 weeks?

Over the last 2 weeks, I have made some changes for my deliverable. Instead of doing a social media campaign, I decided to do a self-study. I've also created a content schedule and Instagram account.

Whatʻs coming up for the next 2 weeks?

In the next 2 weeks, I plan to start the study of the process of creating a small animated film and start posting on my Instagram account.

Hiccups/Hurdles/AHA moments

Having to make changes in my deliverable has caused a little set back but I think I now have a better idea of how the rest of the project will go. I'm also trying to manage my time wisely to avoid being behind. I've also never created a film before let alone an animated film, I think it'll be interesting to see how everything will turn out in the end.

I don't really have any deliverable drafts to share yet. I'm still in the pre-production stage, but I do have a screenshot of my content schedule of what I plan to post on my Instagram account.

I'm a little behind on my timeline but I'm hoping to catch up and post my introduction post within the next few days. I'm also planning on finishing my research of how to/the process of creating a small animated film soon and then start the study after.

Tumblr Update #1

Since the start of the semester, I have been trying to figure out what exactly I want to do for my deliverable. I have also been trying to prioritize being organize and getting the hang of setting a schedule to avoid overwhelming myself with my busy schedule.

For the next 2 weeks, my plan is to set up my social media account for my capstone along with coming up with the branding of the account as well as working on creating a list of ideas of what kinds/types of posts I plan to put up each week.

As for hiccups, hurdles, or AHA moments, I am running into the issue of credibility and what type of content I would want to post each week.

Introduction video for my senior capstone.

After looking through past senior capstones, Melanie Denda's capstone stood out to me. Her research question was "why is social media important for Esports marketing?" I like how she went about her deliverable and it was similar to something that I would like to do with my own capstone and deliverable. I also liked how each post on her capstone's Instagram was about a different topic and about topics that would catch a viewer's attention.
