As a thank you for getting me to 1000+ followers on Cat Fortress, I would like to host a raffle!!

I will pick out 3 (or 5, depending on how many people participate) lucky users to draw for ! Whoever’s names I randomly pick out, will earn a drawing, or cat-ified character design, by me, of their TF2 OC ! (No worries if you don’t have an OC, I will also be willing to simply draw a TF2 (cat fortress) character of your choice!)

- Must be following Cat Fortress of course^^

- Please comment your favorite Cat Fortress character on this post to participate! - if you have questions, you may comment them, the character thing is also to help separate actual comments/questions from entries^^

- Reblog isn’t required, but appreciated

- Comments will be turned off and winners will be picked on May 25.

- If you get picked, I will ask for character/artwork information in DMs ! (If you have a TF2 OC, You may pick the type of cat they are ! - And of course provide photos if you have a specific color in mind.) On smiles

A thing I’ve noticed in the tf2 fandom goes roughly like this.

Artist: posts art of a merc (sometimes engineer or more often medic) smiling big and wide, with gums showing or at least noticeably peaking out.

Everyone in the replies, and often the artist as well: man look how creepy/ scary/ etc they look, isn’t that funny?

But if you consider it for even a second it’s not really particularly funny. Not when you remember that real people have those traits. I smile Alllllllll gums and it’s incredibly disheartening to see my smile represented in characters I adore, just for it to be called a joke.

This is no one call out to a particular artist or individual, but lore a wide thing, trying to get folks to think, to consider their views.

There’s always been discussion on tumblr of how insulting someone you hate based on a physical trait does nothing to them but instead simply tells your friend you think they’re ugly. That’s very applicable here I think.

This is not me telling you do not draw the characters with big smiles with their gums peeking out. I want more of that in fact! Of all the mercenaries even! But I want it to be done genuinely, and without the mockery. I do hope that’s not too much to ask and you’ll consider a little of what you see more as you scroll. Have a good day folks
