Q3. HOW DID YOUR PRODUCTION SKILLS DEVELOP THROUGHOUT THIS PROJECT?
Pre-Production:
I had several struggles with the  pre-production process. in this process it was really difficult to arrange the lights and the equipment needed to take good shots. i had to find a track to take a moving shot and even HID colour tans to make the lighting dull and bright in some areas. to find a good combination of colours to make the video attractive to the audience.since i was doing this project by myself i had to handle the lights the rehearsals and the camera by myself. it was a hard task to pull off by myself. but with alot of hours and brainstorming ideas to make it better i managed to push through.

Q2. HOW DOES YOUR PRODUCT ENGAGE WITH AUDIENCES AND HOW WOULD IT BE DISTRIBUTED AS A REAL MEDIA TEXT?
My target was the young adults from the age of 16 to 30. electronic music is the new pop and rock. since everything else is electric why not introduce a new type of music to my country which the new generation will enjoy.
if i had to choose from a distribution network that does promote the electronic music genre, i would most probably go for the internet the best of all distribution networks. it has a mass following and it has no age limit. everyone uses it. specially the targeted young adults. how ever an official release on YouTube is also admirable on my channel.  It would help reach out to not a single state or a country but almost the whole world and people who use these websites.  This is a great way to mass distribute my product.

Q1. HOW DOES YOUR PRODUCT USE OR CHALLENGE CONVENTIONS AND HOW DOES IT REPRESENT SOCIAL GROUPS OR ISSUES? (evaluation)
My music video follows the codes and conventions of modern days vocal house music. This is because i used indoor and outdoor facilities to properly arrange the music video. from the shots to the editing everything enriches the song even more. The costumes were dark because i wanted to show happiness and sadness at the same time. the guy was wearing dark clothes and the girl was wearing bright clothes to show happiness. and the effects used in the music video were used according to the beat count. everything in the video revolves around the music.

Insidious-soundtrack analysis
At the start of the film there is non-diegetic sound. It starts of a little high pitched and slowly gets deeper, this confuses the audience because there is only a young boy, peacefully sleeping in bed as the camera pans, so this plays with the audiences minds, building a lot of tension and makes the audience want to see if anything happens next. it gives off a bin aural effect. A bin aural sound often helps trigger things in the brain, such as concentration or happiness, so there is a possibility that in this soundtrack there could be a 3D sound that triggers the brain to become more fearful and curious as to what is happening in this scene. This same soundtrack still continues as we see a shadow upon the next rooms window, but as this happens, the soundtrack's pitch becomes higher and more vigorous, almost like sharp-played violins, almost assuming some is angry. This begins to make the audience feel more scared yet attracts them to want to keep watching so they can find out who is there or what will happen. As the camera turns into the little hallway, the violin sound slows down, this could be to release the tension and direct the audience to what is finally showing, which is a creepy woman. When the camera zooms closer to this persons face, the sound seems to get louder, telling us that this is the antagonist, and that this person is the reason for such intense sounds. What I learnt is that intense sounds, such as the soundtrack in the opening of Insidious, builds tension and also captivates a viewer/audience into watching it more out of curiosity as to what will possibly happen next.

Soundtrack Analysis: The Conjuring (2013)
The super natural horror movie, The Conjuring, directed by James Wan is known for its marvelous sound effects. Based on a real family’s experience with spirits in their new farmhouse, the movie tells the horrifying tale of a family under siege by ghosts and the demonologist couple who try to help them. THE CONJURING stars Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Ron Livingston and Lily Taylor.
With so many horror movies coming upfront, the directors have eventually understood that beside the gore scenery of blood shed, Sound effects could be efficiently used to produce terrified frenzy in the audience.
The frequent near-silence that penetrates the story’s central haunted haus to create the idea of a place that hums with danger. “The sound team literally built in humming, a deep vibration in the bass that frequently crops up just to mess with our perception. There’s the hard flatness of the “normal” sounds, which produces scary sensations into the ears. The sound contributes significantly to the feeling that this house where so much of the film’s terror occurs is a dead, suffocating place. The sound, thus, succeeds in creating the overall aura of the film.

 Technology used
shot on ARRI ALEXA Camera, Leica Summilux-C Series Lenses. In The Conjuring 2, the main antagonist, Valak, takes on several forms while scaring the bejeebers out of the Hodgson family and the supernatural investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. One of those frightening forms is The Crooked Man, an impossibly thin figure inspired by the children’s nursery rhyme.
The figure came out so unnatural that audiences were convinced that The Crooked Man was CGI. He wasn't. In fact, he was played by Mama actor Javier Botet.
 How was it marketed
Social media websites are great platforms to market a movie. On all the websites shown, the theme is kept to its original and conveys a imagine of uniformity. This reinforces the movies brand and marketing campaign by trying to make it instantly recognizable to audiences. Social media is also a great form of marketing outlet due to most of their target audience being a member in some shape or form. By releasing these pages, audience feel excited and can keep up to date with the trailers and hints towards to films plot.

The movie was released in Blu-ray and DVD format. James Wan, perhaps the premiere modern horror director (“Saw,” “Insidious”), makes graphically regal films that often exceed the genre’s visual conventions. His popular “Conjuring” films give him the opportunity to show that skill. With gorgeous period-piece settings, the general warmness to the coloring works as a nice counterpoint to the scares. While this newest entry doesn’t quite sidestep all of the clichés in modern horror (giggling children, creepy toys, red herring scares), it does askew some. The just-brainy-enough storytelling mixed with the super strong direction make it a distinctly solid studio horror trip. Based on “true events,” we find paranormal investigators Lorraine and Ed Warren traveling to the UK to study a peculiar and sinister haunting of a young, single-parent family. Along the way, some plot conveniences and illogical creature rules haunt the proceedings. Luckily, these are overshadowed by some fantastically creepy monster designs, including a boldly sadistic nun-figure and a terrifying rendition of the “Crooked Man” nursery rhyme, all underscored by effectively cool music and sound design. By now, Wan has proven he knows what he’s doing in the scare department. However, some surprisingly adept humor cuts through the horrific drama, allowing the themes of family and dangerous commitment to shine through. But what really makes the whole thing work are the people. In spite of the few plotting flaws, in the center of the story are characters you wanna root for. They are funny, loving, sympathetic and real; they are human-feeling people who make human-feeling decisions. With this beautiful control over tone and character, Wan feels only a step away from making a true masterpiece. Until then, this will more than do.

Saw 1
Saw is a 2004 American psychological horror film directed by James Wan. It is Wan's feature film directorial debut. The screenplay, written by Leigh Whannell, is based on a story by Wan and Whannell. In the film, Elwes and Whannell portray two men who awake to find themselves chained in a large dilapidated bathroom, with one being ordered to kill the other or his family will die. It is the first installment of the seven-part Saw franchise
The debut of Wan and Whannell, the screenplay was written in 2001, but after failed attempts to get the script produced in Wan and Whannell's home country of Australia, they were urged to travel to Los Angeles. In order to help attract producers they shot a low-budget short film of the same name from a scene out of the script. This proved successful in 2003 as producers from Evolution Entertainment were immediately attached and also formed a horror genre production label Twisted Pictures. The film was given a small budget and shot for 18 days..

Shoot Ideas -Preliminary Task
We want our movie to start in a lonely deserted walkway or a path that will add a sense of loneliness, of being deserted and at the beginning of the film.
The female character will look afraid and in a hurry.
The male character (Devil) will be waiting for the girl to come to him and plead.
Girl walks up to the door, opens it and enters the room/house.
The two characters come face to face and exchange dialogues. The girl is desperate and pleads. The devil is devious and rejects her pleas.
Night time and outdoor where the devil looks on as the girl digs a hole and buries a mysterious object. The audience will not be told what that mysterious object is and it will be left to their imagination.

Script Idea for Preliminary Task
A girl walks into a room where a sinister looking person is sitting. He is the devil and the girl is in his debt. He tells her that she is going to die soon. The girl pleads with him to give her more time. The devil refuses and demands his payment. The girl is helpless and cannot do anything. In a later scene she is seen burying a mysterious object in the ground while the devil watches on.

Idea for Preliminary Task
We want to do something that adds value to the task. I have always been intrigued by the idea of devil buying the souls of humans and fulfilling some wishes in exchange of those souls. Movies like ‘The Devil’s Advocate’, ‘Bedazzled’ and ‘The Ghost Rider’ are just some of the examples of movies that focus on the ‘Deal with the devil’ idea.
I also love movies that leave some questions un-answered or contain a sense of mystery. We will try to add some mystery to this sequence of shots.

Preliminary Brief
We are required by the brief to create a preliminary task that has the following:
It is a continuity task involving filming and editing
-          a character opening a door,
-          crossing a room and
-          sitting down in a chair opposite another character,
-          with whom she/he then exchanges a couple of lines of dialogue.
