I've been working on a long (50p+) moshang doujin for a while now, and today I finally managed to wrap it up and post it for my patrons. So as celebration, I'm finally taking out of the vault this one! It's the art that sprouted the idea for the comic and kept me going strong at it until now!

Look I love unconditional devotion love stories as much as the next person, but there's really something so deliciously raw about conditional devotion.

I have served you and I have loved you for decades, but I will not give up my principles for you. You cut out part of my heart and took it with you down that path that you insist on walking, but you walk it alone. Even when the bleeding, gaping hole you left in my chest kills me, I will not follow you.

Something something Luo Binghe is textually transgender because his body goes through a dramatic change in his adolescence without his consent (puberty) that disturbs and frightens him, leaving the ruling class (jianghu) disgusted by him. No matter if he tries to live as all demon or all human, it will tax on him trying to keep up the facade (stealth). The thing that makes him happy is finding a support network or queer people who love an accept him as he is and moving beyond dysphoria.

He’s treated by PIDW as inherently sexual, deviant, and a natural outcast. His father figure (ish) kicks him out (throws him into the abyss) when he comes out (demonic heritage exposed). In SVSSS and PIDW so much of his character is wrapped up in how he chooses to preform gender (toxic masculinity vs blended masculine and feminine). His body is constantly objectified and othered by the narrative. He has to reach so much higher than other for acknowledgment from demons or humans because of his status. His two adult paths are literally big brother and little sister.
