/r i wish it was more normalized to call someone your lover. like when talking to someone ab them, “yeah i said the same thing to my girlfriend/partner” doesn’t feel right. i don’t refer to them as girlfriend when i’m talking to them. i don’t call “hey girlfriend”, i say “hey lover” because that’s a better description of what they are to me. but i can’t say “i told that to my lover” because that isn’t socially accepted. why must i refer to them differently in public. unfortunately lover almost has a connotation of being your secret partner apart from your first, and the one you may love more. which is stupid. if my father ever said “my lover did this” i might assume he was having an affair. i just want to say “my lover” :p anyways back to league with my incel friends.
