The bombs of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which marked the end of World War II, are harsh reminders of nuclear weapons' destructive potency. These were the only recorded cases of atomic bombs being used in combat, resulting in unfathomable devastation and giving rise to the hibakusha, a distinct survivor group.
The Hibakusha: Survival Voices
These survivors provide firsthand accounts of the reality of nuclear warfare, grouped according to how they were affected by the explosions and their aftermath. The tales of the hibakusha are devastating reminders of the profound human cost resulting from nuclear explosions in today's world. Their legacy inspires us to work toward a future in which such devastation is unfathomable and difficult to understand.
