8 years ago even a few weeks before this game-changing gay movie was out, I knew my life as a longtime Yugioh fan, as well as my life in general, would never be the same. I owe the DSoD a bunch: I drew hundreds of pieces of fan art; I met awesome friends both online and in person; and most importantly, the DSoD was what significantly helped me get through hard times. 🥹🥹

I tried the pixel art style this time. I'm not sure it worked the way I had intended to, but I did my best😆

As always Twitter has no understanding of nuance. Everything has to be black or white.

Nicholas Galitzine gave an interview where he was said he was greatefull for the doors that RWRB opened for him. And that is a completly normal thing to say from somebody who looks at this as a job. He is an actor, that is his literal job. He seems like a nice human being [based on interviews], so of course he is gratefull for the rare 3-fecta - a film that is quite commercially succesfull, liked by critics and allowed him to show his acting range [he has one]. Most actors dream of such opportunities and this is the first one he has where all 3 are there.

The two camps are like "he hates RWRB" [quite minor, I actually haven't seen it, just seen other people writing about it] and "he loves RWRB so much" [quite larger]. I think both are missing the point and projecting their feelings on him. Of course he shows appreciation for it, as mentined even by him, it opened a lot of doors, and as mentioned by me, he seems like a decent human being. But I don't think he looks at it any different that most of his other roles. Of course he could have enjoyed it a little bit more [like we also have projects at work we enjoy more than others], but we're not a fan of the products, we make it. I have seen some actors who are also big fans of the product [but that is rare], but I haven't seen anything NG do that matches that. That doesn't make him bad. Just an actor looking for good opportunities.

The only twinge I had when hearing that quote was the fact that another straight actor has benefited from this, but as the other option is forcefully outing people for jobs, which I am fully against, I got over it.

Just needed to rant and get this out of my head so I can enjoy the fics and the RWRB world.

The main reason I prefer the movie heights in RWRB is because the difference is very small. And one thing I've noticed in written fandom works where there is a more noticable height difference in canon is that a lot of people default to gender steriotypes (both in behavior and what 'role' in the sex they take [which is a thing I hope we can leave in the past at some point]) for the shorter person, even when canon doesn't support that. Even in writing that is otherwise objectively very good.
