NACEN 4 LIGRES EN EL ZOOLÓGICO DE ALDAMA

El lunes pasado, cuatro crías de ligres nacieron en el Zoológico de Aldama, reportaron los cuidadores del lugar.
Los ligres son una mezcla de león africano y tigresa de Bengala, siendo su aspecto es el de un gigantesco león con rayas de tigre difusas, mientras que su pelaje es entre el naranja y el amarillo y llegan a medir hasta 4 m de largo, y a pesar hasta 500 kilogramos.
Al igual que los leones, los ligres machos desarrollan melena y esta especie posee un tamaño mayor que su padre (león) y su madre (tigresa), además de que es considerado el felino más grande del mundo
Los nuevos habitantes del zoológico son hijos de la tigresa “Asia”, de 8 años, y de “Greñas”, un león africano de 6 años de edad, mismo que fue separado de la hembra para seguridad de las crías y nacieron el 24 de mayo.
Alberto Hernández, empresario que atiende el zoológico con su familia, informó que los ligres permanecerán con su madre por tres semanas, y luego se irán adaptando a la comunidad.
Los visitantes es este zoológico (localizado en el municipio de ese nombre a 35 kilómetros al norte de la capital del estado), podrán observar además de las crías de ligre, cientos de animales en un espacio de 100 mil metros cuadrados, donde la distancia entre asistentes es superior a las normas sanitarias que establece la autoridad, además de que se verifica temperatura de quienes ingresan y existen despachadores de gel en todas las instalaciones.
Además, informó que posiblemente esta semana se presente el nacimiento de varias crías de tigre, ya que una tigresa se encuentra esperando el parto y ya ha sido aislada de los machos.

Classic Beans
When I first started looking into the different types of coffee beans I had no idea what flavor sensations were in store. Fruity, rich chocolate, caramel, spicy and smoky were descriptions that were being thrown around. Are we talking about coffee? This was intriguing. Why were there were so many different flavors? Well, it all begins with the beans so let me tell you a little bit about them.
We start with organic green coffee beans. A coffee bean is actually the seed of a coffee cherry. Once the red ripe cherries are picked from the tree, they are dried (usually in sunlight) and then the outer portion of the dried cherry is removed. This leaves the coffee bean which is then sorted either by hand or on a conveyor belt. They are sorted by size and density (lighter beans which are as good to the heavier ones, which is a quality bean). These unroasted beans are green coffee beans which are shipped around the world to become our light, medium or dark roast coffee.
The green coffee beans are roasted in a large drum for about 5 to 7 minutes. It smells a bit like popcorn. The beans double in size and crackle as they get bigger. After the first pop, the roasting process is stopped for light roast beans. During the roasting process the beans have changed color from green to yellow to a light cinnamon brown. The beans still have a bit of a sour or acidic taste; however, the sharp fruity flavor and origin is apparent. Many good quality beans are only lightly roasted.
The beans continue in their roasting process and start shrinking in size. After about 9 to 11 minutes the roasting is stopped. At this point the sugary flavors of the beans start to come out. Medium roast coffee is a bit sweeter with hints of milk chocolate. The coffee has a slight smokiness and the original beans bright flavor can still be tasted.
Dark Roast coffee takes about 12 to 13 minutes and the sugars have fully developed in the dark beans giving the coffee a rich deep chocolate caramel flavor with a hint of spiciness. It is more difficult to tell which part of the world or coffee region that dark roast beans come from as the smokiness and sugars of the bean have become more predominant.
Espresso Roast takes about 14 minutes and, at this point, the sugars in the espresso beans are starting to burn and caramelize. This produces a smokier bean and a smoky rich tasting espresso coffee.
The type of coffee grind that you use is important in order to properly match the type of brewing method you will be using. The objective is to get the most flavor out of your ground gourmet coffee beans when infused with hot water. The fast rule of thumb is the faster the infusion the finer the grind.
The various grind categories are "fine," "medium" and "coarse." The finer grinds don't need to be in contact with water for as long as the coarser grinds. The coarsest grind is used in the classic pot method, the plunger and drip coffee filter methods require coarser grinds. The espresso brewing method need the least amount of time and requires the grind to be very fine.
If you tried using an espresso grind in your drip filter machine, the water will take much longer to filter through and the flavor will not improve. If you would like to make a stronger or weaker brew it is easier to just add or reduce the amount of ground coffee than to vary the grind.
It cannot be emphasized more that grinding coffee immediately before brewing makes a huge different in the freshness of your coffee. The effective life of ground coffee is only a few days after grinding. Oxygen and moister in the air quickly deteriorates ground coffee as it oxidizes and looses its flavor. After deterioration expect to taste stale and coffee with a reduction of flavor.
Grinding beans at home is very easy to do. There are a larger variety of bean grinders available on the market that can either look as a nice appliance in your kitchen or can be quickly put away.
The oldest bean grinders are the mortar and pestle. This takes a while to use and the grind is not consistent. But since we are in living in the electronic age there are simpler and faster methods.
