Life was very different for a young Egyptian boy in 1954 and so much has changed since then. Aside from the technological hurdles as an student of engineering, raising a family in a different country with open ideals while maintaining some semblance of cultural traditions and religion isn’t easy. I didn’t appreciate it then but each day I recognize his dedication to our family more and more. His perseverance rewards his patience. Know I love and appreciate you more everyday, @tareq54. We’ve all felt it. These past 4 years have been one hurdle after the next. Whether it’s divisive grandiloquence from the man in the big White House, juggling new business decisions, family issues or personal battles it’s been a rollercoaster. Some people did not make through the years. At the hands of covid or their own, some did not. I’m glad you made it. We are fortunate to have been dragged through the muck, admonished by a fine patina unique to our experiences. Sowed relationships indelibly rooted in darker times. Yesterday was D. O. P. E. The Biden/ Harris ticket isn’t the best America has but is better than what we had. I put my criticisms aside for a day and felt overwhelmed with the amount of love, joy and relief that washed across this nation in a moment. I sat on my back porch, in tears, listening to celebratory speeches, laughter and a while a city sighed Yesterday was D. O. P. E. The Biden/ Harris ticket isn’t the best America has but is better than what we had. I put my criticisms aside for a day and felt overwhelmed with the amount of love, joy and relief that washed across this nation in a moment. I sat on my back porch, in tears, listening to celebratory speeches, laughter and passerby’s honking their horns while a city exhaled an enormous breath of relief in unison. Yesterday, was a successful incremental step in moving towards MLK Jrs Dream. The larger steps are at our front doors. Securing runoffs and supporting our neighbors at home and around the world regardless of color, race or income. The fight continues. This guy was there, too ... @tonyhawk rode his signature wood laminate skateboard displays Hawk’s Birdhouse logo designed by Vernon Cortlandt Johnson that Hawk used in competitions in the mid-1980s. An archaic lapper band is attached to the rear truck and was used in 1980s vert skating to make the transition to the half pipe rail smoother. Tony donated the board to the @smithsonian at the "Quicksilver All '80's Vert Challenge at @surfexpo in 2011.
