Things to note;

The bed is already converted by @platinumaspiration, you can find all the converted beds here - I have included it, so if you only need one file!

Sofa and living chair have morphs,

Tons of slots on surfaces,

Included walls and floors - so if you have them already feel free to remove!

So, ages ago, I saw (as I'm sure a lot of us did) THIS post about the Middle Eastern, men-only cover of The Sims 2. I kind of thought it was a hoax, mostly due to the crazy high price tag and the fact that I'd genuinely never heard of it before. But a couple of replies on that original post had owned that copy or seen it before.

Anyway, a few weeks ago I'm searching through ebay for the thick Sims 2 expansion pack cases when I find a listing from the UK for around $70AUD, with three expansion packs and, the best part, a version of The Sims 2 base game with the all male cover! I'm happy to say it wasn't a scam and it arrived today, photos below.

Left is the all-men cover(a 2009 copy according to the box), right is an Australian version (2006). I think my favourite part about this difference is how the guy in a brown shirt on the very left is the same in both copies, he just doesn't have the woman with him anymore.

(When I say "Australian Copy", I mean sold in Australia. I'm about 90% sure most copies of the sims 2 have either this cover, or the later produced cover with additional sims, such as an alien and a man in black, on it)

The back of the cases, left being the all-men cover, right being the Australian 2006 copy. There are more differences here, notably almost all of the women are gone except for the scientist lady in the top right. The sim in Create-A-Sim is a man on the Middle Eastern copy, the children in the top left are different. The poolside hang out on the 2006 copy had women in bikinis in it, but the Middle Eastern copy instead has a photo of men reacting to a kitchen fire. The women in the centre are gone (once again leaving brown-shirt guy maidenless) and replaced with a butler, a feature that isn't even present in the sims 2 base game. Both the image of the villa and the Grim Reaper have been removed from the Middle Eastern copy.

Inside of both cases. Interestingly, the Middle Eastern copy (bottom) has women on the disc, but the top 2006 copy is just a plain blue disc. I haven't read the manuals to compare them extensively but both seem to have the same information, just in a slightly different order. The Middle Eastern manual is thicker as it has both an English section and an Arabic section.

I won't be able to install this base version onto my pc due to catchment, but if you did play this version please let me know if there were any differences! Thank you for reading along with me, I hope you found this as interesting as I did.

The Chapel of the Sacred Heart is the church on the Capp side of Veronaville (which I've dubbed Old Towne). I love building church lots in my game, I just need to find more stuff for my Sims to do there so it's actually worth visiting!

Sim Dump: TS1 Console

Hi, hi! I've been playing the console games lately. Figured I'd share my re-creations of the sims from there. All CC is included, and they're all shared in one 7z. : D

Because their faces in the original game are kinda low res and basic, I just went and did Pooklet's method on them for the most part so they look a little more unique.

First: The Roomies! In order, Betty, Carlos, Layla, Leon, Zara and Bingo.

Next is none other than MOM, who will nag you to fix the tv, yell at you for studying Mechanical so you don't shock yourself, and then yell at you some more for not fixing it fast enough because you have 1 skill point and just want to fix the TV and move out... yes I'm salty

(*) I know @lilbabydilljr released a Dreamer trait already as part of the hidden/scrapped TS3 traits collection, but I wanted to change the flavor text and concept of it. My spouseman is a real dreamer-content-to-dream and I felt the TS3 scrapped version was too close to Ambitious. So @cityof2morrow made a different icon for it, and changed the GUID as well because Dill's conflicts with HB's simlife goggles. However, the file name is the same as Dill's and will overwrite it.

What's coming next: Updates to existing traits mods that are plausibly affected by these traits (plus some personal preference tuning). Check out the to-do list here. Suggestions welcome and encouraged! Anyone who would like early access as a beta tester, please let us know!

Retro Bodacious Loveseat / "Floral Fantasy" by Plastiqkue From The Sims 2, The Sims 2 Console and The Sims 2: Pets Console for The Sims 2, The Sims 3 and The Sims 4

Just a small conversion to check off the list! The Retro Bodacious Loveseat is from The Sims 2: University. In The Sims 2 console and The Sims 2: Pets console, it was renamed "Floral Fantasty" by Plastiqkue and given an exclusive blue swatch. I figured it was best to combine this conversion and use the PC version. This download includes a recolor for The Sims 2 and a full conversion of the model and Sims 2 PC swatches for The Sims 3 and The Sims 4. It is $450 in the console game, but I went with the PC price.

It's time to get nostalgic.

With this update of my Sims (2000) world, you can revisit every lot and every household from the Sims 1 in an open world experience in the Sims 3! This addition adds the Magic Town and Vacation Island area's, making this a complete Sims 1 world, that includes every Sims 1 neighborhood.

I apologize for the long delay in releases this update for this Sims 3 world. My real life has gotten very hectic, so it's been hard to make time for this project. I hope it was worth the wait and that you'll enjoy reliving the Sims 1 in this Sims 3 world.

This world was made with every Sims 3 expansion pack (except for Into The Future), in addition the the High End Loft and Town Life stuff packs. You can install the world even if you do not own all of these packs. But the save file (which includes all of the premade sims, ghosts and some fixes) can only be played if you have all of these packs installed.

To everyone who has installed and played the previous version of my Sims (2000) world: to install this version, you'll need to uninstall the old one. If you have an active save file with the previous (1st) version of this world, please backup any households and builds you want to save to your library. Because that save file will probably become unplayable after installing the updated world file.

I have one little request… If you know any other long time simmers, please share this project with them. I would love it if as many people as possible get a chance to enjoy this nostalgic experience <3

Also, if you enjoy setting up high quality screenshots, I'd love to see them and use them to promote this world.

Olde Thyme Restored Oven and Olde Thyme Victual Preservatorium from The Sims to The Sims 2

Happy 24th anniversary to The Sims! I wanted to convert more for the anniversary, but I hope this suffices for now. These two beautiful gems were created by Lazy Duchess, (credits go to them!) All I did was edit the model in hopes to achieve a seamless conversion from FreeSO. Since these objects are unique, I had a hard time getting them to function the way I wanted in The Sims 3 and The Sims 4, so this download is only for The Sims 2 right now. Price and motives are the same as they are in the original game, info below the cut.

This is from the “reference card” that came with the original Sims in 2000.

I vaguely remembered those pie charts and have wanted to track it down again ever since, because the concept of a sim’s motives requiring strategic planning for every single moment of their 24-hour day is such a huge contrast to how sim motives are handled in the present day of the franchise.

The entire point of the original game was to strategize out handling a sim’s motives, which were constantly lowering and constantly needed direct attention (this was also intended by design, I’m pretty sure sims were “stupid” with their motives on purpose to motivate you to micromanage them). It wasn’t an obstacle for getting to the “real” gameplay (at least not in 2000′s The Sims), that literally WAS the gameplay.

Now, sims don’t even need you around. Their motives decay extremely slowly, and when they reach levels that require attention they can take care of them on their own. The point of that shift in dynamic was so you could use more of your sim’s time for all the fun stuff they added later (Hot Date, Vacation, Makin Magic, Superstar, Pets, etc. was only fun up to the point where you had to stop exploring things to refill your sim’s needs).

Honestly I feel like the balance between need management and open time for fun stuff is part of what’s made the gap in The Sims 4′s content so obvious. Maybe it wouldn’t feel so hollow if there actually was more stuff for sims to do with all the time they don’t have to spend fulfilling needs anymore. Or maybe if the slowdown of their need decay hadn’t changed so dramatically then the lack of stuff to do would be less obvious while you’re focused on need management. I’m guessing EA’s intent was to go with the former, but how successfully they handled that depends on who you ask.

TS2 Nectar Bar Revised

Default / Recolours

I've included two default replacement files - bar mesh only AND mesh & textures & nectar bottle (all in one).

*Texture layout is unchanged. Recolours will also work with original nectar bar mesh.

I highly recommend this fix/mod by @jellymeduza that allows to pick up and drink nectar placed on tables etc. And also this mod to let Sims fulfill drink-related wants when using nectar bar.

Mesh & texture default contains a few other resources, one extra recolour and Nectar bottle mesh that has been remapped and linked to bar texture (original bottle has its own texture).

Mesh-only default also contains more resources, but no bar textures - it will change the bar shape, shadows and the non-recolourable glass. It works perfectly fine with recolours like these by @shastakiss . But please note it won't work with Shasta's default as that one also contains GMDC resource.

New bar is more compact and a bit lower than original so it can be fully covered by counters. You can access bar options by clicking on the bottle.
