Melissa and Shauna did genuinely grow to really care for eachother, but were never quite on the same wavelength and never quite able to be the person the other needed them to be.

Jenna goes on to say that Melissa would have loved her relationship with Shauna to be the love story of her life - and guesses in a way it is, even if it's not perfect.

I wonder what Mel's reaction would be if, when she was choking Shauna, she managed to make Shauna faint and think she killed her.

How do you think her reaction would be?

And that look that Melissa gives Shauna at the end of episode 10, when Shauna was dressing up as Antler Queen, how do you interpret it?

She would have definitely started panicking, like "Oh no, what have I done?"..

She would be begging her to wake up because she didn't want to kill her, deep down in her heart. But she was trying to follow her mind, to do what she believed was the right thing for everyone..

As for the last look Melissa gave Shauna I really don't know how to interpret it. And it's also the way she placed that piece of hair over her heart..

To me it seems like a look of admiration or even love. Melissa seemed to always like seeing Shauna like that, strong and in control… just like the way she looked at her during Ben’s trial.

Also in Melissa’s mind, they’re even now like Shauna tried to kill her, and she tried to do the same.

I could be completely wrong, but I just can’t see it as a look of hate or disgust and honestly, not even as guilt or regret for trying to kill her

Do you have any headcanons? Or what do you imagine their relationship was like in the summer?

I can definitely imagine them sitting in a quiet place in the woods alone and just talking and getting to know each other better. Also, I can see them doing their daily tasks side by side and Melissa chatting about something random, cracking jokes, and Shauna just quietly listening, maybe smiling to herself.

They definitely had more soft moments like cuddling, with Shauna being the little spoon, or going for swims in the lake together..

I can also see them making breakfast or dinner for each other, swapping chores just because, washing each other’s clothes or taking care of things for each other without making a big deal out of it.

I feel like they both slept better next to each other like there was a sense of safety in it. And maybe Shauna didn’t have as many nightmares anymore, just from having someone there who made her feel a little more at peace.

Also, I think for once in her life, Shauna was actually having normal sex (and that’s probably why we didn’t see it)

None of that “Tell me you love me” or “She was thinking about Jackie” crap..

Do you think Melissa and Gen were dating or is Shauna Melissa's first relationship?

Honestly, I don’t see anything that suggests Gen and Melissa were dating. It just came off as a close friendship to me.

I also think Shauna was Melissa’s first real relationship. Melissa seemed so shy and awkward when she first approached her, and that makes me believe she probably didn't have much experience. I could be wrong though..

Do you think Mel faked her death before or after Shauna got married?

I can definitely imagine Melissa faking her death before Shauna's wedding, and that being the last straw for Shauna.

Maybe part of her still thought she had a chance with Melissa, even after everything. But Melissa’s ''suicide'' just confirms that Melissa left her too.

So to Shauna, this proves that anyone she lets in ends up getting hurt or leaving. So she punishes herself by marrying Jeff and settling into a life she doesn’t even want.

She doesn’t believe she deserves love, or the right to go after what she really wants. She decides that happiness isn't meant for her.

Honestly, that would be so beautifully tragic..

Do you think Melissa forgives Shauna, since she wrote in the Letter to Shauna Forgive Herself? Why do you think Melissa sent that letter?

I think Melissa’s life became a little too boring for her. She missed the thrill, the chase… maybe she even missed Shauna.

She’s trying hard to believe her own words, to convince herself that she truly likes the life she’s built and that the letter was just for closure.

But deep down, she doesn’t like her life and that’s why she sent the letter. She’s searching for something, even if she can’t even admit it to herself.

There’s no way she didn’t hope, deep down, that Shauna would come looking for her.

I have a feeling she’s gonna pull a Taissa next season..
