I don't know how prolific it is elsewhere, but in the discord servers I discuss Yellowjackets in in the question of what Kodiak's real intentions were or who he might have been connected to is still being speculated about. Mainly a lot of Cabin Daddy's Son theories and the idea that he had some alterior plans with the froggers or the Yellowjackets, perhaps having killed the froggers' original guide and stolen his clothes. But, to me, this is all sounding pretty familiar.

Hannah didn't have a concrete reason for killing Kodiak. He was a somewhat mysterious guy who had one odd detail that didn't add up in Hannah's mind, even with an explanation, and that made her paranoid enough to kill him. She did have other reasons for making the kill, but the label on his jacket was clearly a huge red flag in her mind that pushed her along the way.

Shauna didn't have a concrete reason for killing Adam. He was a mysterious guy who was caught out in a lot of lies. Ones that he had reasons for and offered to explain, but by then, all of that had built up alongside the ongoing blackmail and was enough to make Shauna kill him. And it turned out Adam wasn't the blackmailer, he was just some guy, and Shauna's paranoia had lead her to believe he was out to get her. Not only did this all happen, it was all reiterated by Melissa in this episode. The writers wanted this on your mind as you watched.

They've been drawing some pretty clear connections between Shauna and Hannah. Nevermind the fact Ashley was heavily theorized to be Shauna's mother before the season even began, her being a brunette girl with big brown eyes who was a teen mom that was still able to be successful in sports and going onto a fulfilling intellectual career is a clear parallel to Shauna. And now, after killing Kodiak, Hannah's clearly impressed Shauna, and the way Hannah talked certainly sounded like she was operating on Shauna's level.

And the reason why I say all this sounds familiar? People are still theorizing who Adam is! He's been dead two seasons and mentioned as being just a random guy multiple times, with the entire point of that plotline being to show how Shauna's paranoia was going to land the Yellowjackets in hot water, and yet I still see theories that Adam was Walter's younger brother or that he's going to be related to Cabin Daddy. And I imagine Kodiak is still going to be suspected of being part of a grander conspiracy long after his death.

Was Kodiak up to something suspect? Guess it's not impossible. But to me, the parallels are pretty clear. Kodiak was just a guy, just like Adam was.
