Wedding Dance

The couple's first dance

Simon was never really into dancing. Moving his feet to anything except walking and running wherever he needed to go was almost impossible to see. You had never him so much as tap his feet to a song if he enjoyed it.... maybe his finger every now and again if he really liked the song.

But dancing.........?

You didn't except it from him..... even on your wedding day.

It didn't bug you at all, the excitement of just saying your vows to him and being able to be called Mrs. Riley was all your beating heart wanted.

But your husband's behavior changed when things settled during the reception. Not that it wasn't a ton of people there other than Taskforce141 and their wives, and maybe a few colleagues from work, but Simon was..... dare I say.... nervous? Maybe it was the day wearing on him just as much as it did you.

Your hand would find its way into his when Kyle, Johnny, and Price gave their speeches. You tried not to cry when he stood up and gave his own speech that you didn't know about. But when the photographer announced to everyone - except you and Simon - to step out of the room, you were more than confused. Eyebrows drawn when they all happily agreed to, leaving the two of you, the photographer, and the band.

Simon extended his hand for you to take before leading you to the center of the dance floor, giving a nod to the band to start playing. When I Fall In Love by Nat King Cole began, the singer's voice resembling one of your favorite artists. It was the song that you and your husband loved - the song that you heard him hum to every time it played on the radio.

Your eyes widened slightly as he pulled you into his embrace, and you both swayed to the melody. He was dancing... with you. You couldn't contain the tears that slipped from your eyes, the photographer capturing it with his camera.

Simon had gone through the weeks leading up to this moment, practicing when he could. He'd beg his captain to never speak of giving the advice to take lessons with this company in the city, and the older man couldn't help the smile on his face when he told him he'd keep that promise.

And so here you were, dancing with your husband. He twirled you under his hand, held you in the correct positions of them..... even dipped you at the end, giving you a loving kiss. The shutters from the camera going off to get the perfect shot.
