Tyrrish Men Headcanon you didn’t ask for - Honey I’m home
How they are after being away for awhile
Garrick:
He’s a soldier at his core, so when he gets home, it’s right to the debriefing and closing up the trip
But this has a purpose because when he’s done with the task, he’s looking for you
He doesn’t want to hear anything about the trip or any other things than you, he gave the report, so leave him be
And he is obnoxiously picking you up and giving you a kiss
Hes like “I’m going to borrow them for awhile” and just carry you away
Or he is the one to surprise you if his return isn’t made public already
Once he’s got you alone
Lolol
You’re not leaving the room for awhile
Bodhi usually leaves food at your door for you both because he knows you’re not leaving
He missed you, and jokes aside he wants to love you all over
He probably plans it so he has a day off after travels so he can spend it all with you
And yes, he usually brings you back something from his travels
Xaden
The moment he lands he’s yours
Garrick can do the paperwork
Bodhi can talk to the assembly
He is yours, you are home to him and he needs home when he gets back
And he doesn’t wait around for it
No matter where you are, he’s kissing you, holding you, and pushing everyone out of the room so he can have you
Literally he cleared out an assembly room, study, classroom
Bodhi and Garrick have “riorson house bingo” going on right now to mark off how many rooms in the fortress you two do it in other than his room
He’s the leader when he’s with others, but he’s Xaden with you
So expect such soft behavior when he’s with you
Cuddles, baths, meals, all together for the first few days
And if he has to meet the assembly or be away from you, he’s giving long kisses goodbye or keeping in touch with you the whole day
Bodhi
He’s so sweet when he’s home, if you’re waiting for him on the flight field he’s the one to run up to you and hug you
If he’s home and searching for you, when he sees you he gives a smile and a little wave, waiting to see if it’s a good time to come and greet you
Bodhi goes from serving the mission to serving you when he gets home
He wants to know about your days he missed, tell him everything
He’s asking if there’s anything he can do since he is back home
Taking care of you helps him work his way off the trip and back to himself
Even if he’s tired, he will still care for you
And the care extends to your rooms as well, it’s not about him your first night back, it’s all about taking care of you
He’s with you all night but waking up to get you breakfast in the morning
And, he does like to gift you small arrangements of flowers from his trips, mostly from the local area he’s at, longer trips he’ll dry them and press them so you still get something
Garrick once teased Bodhi that he’s wrapped around your finger but one time when his sound shield was left off the first night he came back and Garrick heard you, he quickly dropped his teasing remarks and questioned his own ability to take care of his partner
Who do you want coming back from a trip? Tell me in the comments

Soft
AN: I am so excited that Bodhi week was such a success I cannot wait to read everyone’s stories. For the prompt ‘soft’, I decided the only way I wanted to celebrate was for Bodhi to actually get the soft treatment, as I know he’s naturally a soft character and takes care of everyone, but who will take care of f Bodhi? We, the writers of course.
It is said that in the darkness your best thinking can happen. Surrounded by nothing, the brain can formulate elaborate plans, solve problems, and be nimble in ways that the light would not allow. Is that why Xaden was so cunning and witty? Because in his shadows he is the most able to think of the most complex plans. Bodhi wasn’t sure. But, staring at the ceiling of this dorm room from your bed, in the darkness wasn’t giving him the answers he was seeking. If anything, the blankness of the walls was just a open space for his mind to wander.
There was so much to do,. Since bonding Cuir last year, Bodhi had been invited into the ranks of Xaden’s weapons runs. But how he could complete his latest drop while ensuring his absence wouldn’t go unnoticed was the problem of the night to solve. And then there’s the first years. They were…not as prepared as Bodhi would have hoped. He couldn’t blame them, when word got out that Xaden was rising the ranks and all living marked children were bonding dragons, the fear from the citizens grew into newly conscripted cadets with rebellion relics and no training. Bodhi wasn’t going to let them fall behind, he knew that feeling and it would be his second most important mission to ensure all marked ones could bond a dragon and live. To join the rebellion and to just, live.
Speaking of live, how was he going to live through the drop when he knew for certain Cat was going to be there. Fuck, no wonder why Xaden and Garrick keep passing the Krovlan drops to him. Every time Bodhi shows up for a drop and Cat’s there, he’s always the target of her advances. First, she always thinks he’s Xaden from a distance, and then she’ll still advance on him thinking that word would get out the two of them were in a relationship - to be clear, he is not, in hopes to make Xaden bitter and want to come back to her. How humorous, Xaden had nothing to be jealous of Bodhi. Bodhi lived for Xaden, not the other way around.
But, back to the matter of plan, find a way to get to the drop and then worry about Cat’s flirty advances later. Perhaps if he did accept the challenge from that second year, take the loss in a match and get himself bruised enough, not enough for the infirmary, but enough for some bed rest so he could easily sneak out and -
Oh, Fuck.
Bodhi’s ramblings were cut short as a hand slowly crept up the base of his neck toward the crown of his head, settling against his curls in slowly, precise circle. His body instantly relaxed with an exhale as the hand moved up and down his head, grazing against his skin, almost flushing the thoughts that burrowed a the top of his head down towards his spine and out of his conscious.
As much of a relief that it was, Bodhi couldn’t help but to feel guilty. Not turning to look he asked, “I wasn’t thinking out loud, was I?”
“No.” The soft voice responses, her face hidden in the darkness, “But your muscles spasm when you’re lost in that beautiful head of yours.”
“Sorry.’ He couldn’t help but to apologize, “I know its kind of late and-oh.”
Blessings of Amari. She flexed her hand against his scalp, the tip of her nails now pressed against his head. Not too sharp to cause pain, but just the right amount of filing to make his toes curl and scratch at even his most complex thoughts. Bodhi felt like the mattress was going to envelop him whole, and every spasaming muscle his back and legs were limp. Blessings of Amari, this felt, yes, amazing.
SHe worked across the crown of his head, starting with circular movements at the top of his forehead, across to the flesh behind his ears, and back down his neck, stopping at particular spots, as if she knew what lay beneath his curls was a tangled knot of indecision. She worked through them unknowingly, making each clouded thought more untangled and clear. For the next, well time didn’t exist in Bodhi’s world for him to measure, but she spent the next several, whatever, scratching at his head and temple, dispelling his thoughts away. Her movements across his scalp were magic, he swore she was weaving a rune with how particular he fingers drew lines and circles across him. There were times her love spread to his hair, taking curl after curl into her fingers, twisting each loc into a perfect spiral. When his mind drifted back into the mess of planning, on instinct she gave his hair a firm tug, pulling him back into reality…amongst other bodily reactions he was careful to hide from her.
“Thank you.” He said finally once her hands slowed and she kissed him on the shoulder, her work now complete.
“Go to sleep, love.” She spoke into his skin, “Before I have to switch to more desperate measures.”
“Oh?” Bodhi finally peaked over his shoulder, meeting the green eyes of the healer he’d been blessed to have sneak into his life and heart. “I like desperate.”
“You will be if you stay up for much longer. Get at least an hour and I’ll give you something before sunrise to keep you desperate for the rest of the day.”
Bodhi rolled into his stomach, his head turning towards his bedmate, making sure she saw him close his eyes as he pressed his head against his pillow. He could hear her small laugh and her lips on his skin before he heard the shuffling of the blankets, signaling her rest as well.
In the darkness, may not be able to untangle his thoughts, but he was most certain, it was most clear, that he was loved.

Still finalizing Bodhi week content but here is a paragraph with the only plot being that it’s Bodhi being the best partner
Bodhi was the first to sit, only to quickly reach into his bag to pull out his spare shirt, setting it on the ground before motioning you to take your spot next to him. His eyes warmed when you smirked, trying to downplay his chivalry as you sat next to him. As if second nature he’s pulling your leg into his outstretched lap, untying your boots .
“Here?” You ask, eyes moving around to the other riders who also sit in the clearance.
“We just hiked for hours. Of course here.” He responds. He takes your free foot in his hands and begins massaging them, kneeding out the pain and pressure with each touch. You tilt your head back. Hands resting on the ground behind you, only thinking of how you were so grateful to be so taken care of.

I am already getting myself ready for the next Bodhi week prompt. Since you liked Dad Xaden, I give you this preview
Xaden drew his hands to his ears as Cuirs roar rippled the air around him. He knew nothing of dragon languages outside of Sgaeyls voice through the bond, but he could tell whatever the reason Cuir was roaring about, it was somehow prideful?
He felt Sgaeyls chuff against his back as he leaned on her scales, and her own amusement through the bond.
‘What is Cuir yelling about?’
‘He celebrates.’ Sgaeyl responded, ‘it appears his rider and their mate finally had their little hatchling’
Wait.
Bodhi.
‘What? Mal wasn’t due for another week.’
‘Don’t look to me as if I know the answers.’
Xaden leaned forward and took off in a sprint across the field back towards Aretia. After all they had lived through, he had missed out on so many moments of joy in his life, they all have. And he wasn’t going to miss Bodhis.

Perfect
Day 4: Perfect | Violet said she forgot how perfect Bodhi was…but we didn’t! Highlight Bodhi’s perfections, whether that be as a rider, cousin, or something else.
Bodhi would be gasping but the thought of expanding his lungs any further sounded more painful than the bruise forming on his face. Breathe through the mouth? No his nose is absolutely broken.
He sat on his bed, his one arm bracing the mattress to steady himself while his other was at his side in Mal’s careful touch. His mind was elsewhere but he could hear the drip of water as Mal wrung out the cloth in the bucket and proceeded to wipe down his shoulder and arm. “Let’s get this arm cleaned up and see what’s still bleeding. After that we’ll start on your ribs, okay?”
He nodded, but he didn’t have the guts to tell his beloved that the blood he was covered in wasn’t his own. It belonged to two of the third years who wrongfully cornered Violet in the halls, intent to kill her. Luckily Bodhi had been doing shadow assignments of his own and was able to thwart them on the one night Liam wasn’t watching, he was still recovering from the games.
He didn’t just fight back, he destroyed those students. Breaking his own body in the process but some carnal desire came over him when he saw the fear in Violets eyes and he couldn’t stop himself from grabbing the first student and slamming him against the wall. Most of Bodhis wounds were the result of his own recklessness but it didn’t matter, he knew that Violets was tied to Xaden, and the revolution couldn’t lose him. And he couldn’t lose him either.
The door to his room opens, and Xaden appears, looking panic stricken, but only in his eyes, the rest of him composed and calm. Mal looks up from her spot at Bodhis side, her fingers still threading the needle to begin the stitches on his ribs.
“Violet,” Bodhi began, slowly speaking through the pain, “is she alright?”
“Fine.” Xaden responded while walking over, “you?”
“Fine.”
“And the third years?” Mal asked, “did you take care of them.”
“There was nothing left to take care of.” Xaden said, “they’re unrecognizable, which makes clean up easier.”
Bodhi dropped his head, “I’m a fucking monster.”
He feels the touch of his cousin gently pat against his head. Just like Xadens own father did when he was a kid. A pat on the head from Uncle Fen felt like the touch of a king. You know you did well when he acknowledged you.
“No. You’re perfect.”

Bodhi Week Day 2: Mirror
Day 2: Mirror | It’s mentioned repeatedly that Bodhi looks a lot like Xaden. Mirrors can show your reflection, but also your insecurities. How does it affect Bodhi to be so similar yet so different to Xaden?
Bodhi stared down his greatest foe, weapon in hand. He could do this. Of all the fights he’s been in his whole life, he can take down this enemy. It was a time of peace in Tyrrendor. His cousin back on the throne, his closest friends having made it through it all. He would not lose this fight. He will come out the winner.
“Bodhi you alright?” Garrick asked between bites, “You haven’t touched your cake.”
“I’m fine.” Bodhi responded rather too quickly, shoving his weapon, aka the fork into the monster that was the chocolate cake and pushed it into his mouth.
Ugh. Chocolate cake.
Disgusting.
He took a deep swallow, and reached for his coffee to drown the overly sweet taste. Garrick smiled, seemingly pleased and went back to eating his own bite. Bodhi looked across the table at Xaden who was eating away at his own cake. And then he glanced at Imgoen who glared at him.
Great.
After managing to defeat his foe, the cake, Bodhi stayed behind to clean up. Xaden and Garrick had gone off to finish up work for the evening, which meant a little bit of drinking before Xaden would slip away up to his room to be with Violet. Bodhi found peace in the kitchen cleaning up.
“I saw that.”
So much for peace.
Bodhi set the plate down and turned towards Imogen who was standing behind him with her arms crossed, “Saw what?”
“You know what I’m talking about.”
“Do I?”
She let out a groan and took a kick at his boots, “Xaden walks with his head up his ass, you walk your head up your ass. Xaden likes to train with swords, you train with swords. Xaden likes chocolate cake, you like chocolate cake. Xaden became a Venin and you-“
“Dont.” Bodhi warned. But he got the point.
“You aren’t Xaden, and I know for a fact you hate chocolate cake.”
Bodhi shrugged, trying to muster his best Xaden-like stoic face, “Its grown on me over the years.”
“Give me a break.” Imogen reached to Bodhi’s side and pulled out one of the silver plates that was set to dry. She shoves it right in front of Bodhi, barely missing his face but with enough space for him to take in his own reflection, “Look at yourself Bodhi. You may look like Xaden and try to act like him. But you. Aren’t. Xaden. The war is fucking over and we don’t need another Xaden.”
“Imogen I-“
“We dont need another Xaden. We need you, Bodhi. I,” She pauses, her face hidden behind the silver plate, “I’ve lost too many people and I’m not losing you. So drop the act and be Bodhi Fucking Durran, alright.”
She didn’t give him an opportunity to respond, rather she sets the plate back down and storms out of the kitchen. Bodhi lets her leave, knowing it wouldn’t be the best to chase after her. Rather he finds himself looking at the plate and his own reflection. Gods, even looking at himself he sees Xaden. But, Imogen was right in her own way, after years of being the spare, deep down he didn’t want that anymore. He wasn’t sure what he wanted but…perhaps Bodhi needed to find Bodhi again. So, he rehashes the plate alongside the others, and strides out the kitchen, a plan formulating in his mind.
*Two Months Later
“Xaden we have a problem. Wait-“ Garrick should have known better than to start that with Xaden. Even after the war he was still on edge and ambushing your friend at one of Tyrrendor’s first multi-provience parties wasn’t the best idea. Garrick put a hand on Xaden’s shoulder in an attempt to soothe shadows that was swirling at his feet, “Its not! Not an emergency but just”
“But what?” Xaden eyed him, the gold in his onyx eyes looking extra bright.
“Its Bodhi.”
“Bodhi? Is he hurt?”
“No but, okay just come see.” Garrick guides Xaden away from his spot and towards the crowd, concealing them just enough for Garrick to point towards a table with Bodhi and a young woman sitting together sharing what looked like a tart.
“What am I looking at Garrick?” Xaden asked with no amusement.
“He’s flirting!” Garrick exclaimed in a hushed whisper. “Our sweet innocent Bodhi is flirting with a girl. And he’s actually doing a good job.”
Now Xaden was paying attention. Bodhi was flirting, with a healer. Same girl from Bodhi’s year back at Basgiath.
“Look at him, by the gods he’s going in.”
Xaden and Garrick watched as Bodhi cut into the tart with his fork and pass it to the woman, letting her take a bite right off of the utensil. And with such confidence he glides his finger against the side of her lip to wipe the extra jelly before putting it in his own mouth with a smirk. The healer smiles, a heat warming against her ebony skin.
“Did he just! Damn Durran when did he get slick?” If anyone was looking at Garrick they’d see him with his mouth hung open in shock. But for Xaden, he always knew that Bodhi was a bit of a flirt. Everyone seemed to gravitate towards Bodhi’s kindness and sweetness as a kid. It only was after the apostasy did Bodhi fade into the background behind Xaden and Garrick.
“Oh shit, he’s asking her to dance. Can Bodhi even dance?”
Xaden knew the answer to that one as well. Yes, Bodhi could dance. He was an excellent dancer. And, it wasn’t until Xaden stopped taking lessons himself that Bodhi stopped too. Xaden only stopped because he was jealous at how much better Bodhi was at it than him, he felt guilty thinking about it. And as he and Garrick watched Bodhi spin and twirl his partner, he knew that he hadn’t lost his talent at all. And they were both smiling and laughing. Xaden couldn’t remember the last time Bodhi had a genuine laugh before.
“Something is wrong with Bodhi.” Garrick finally said while turning to Xaden, “We should step in.”
“We should leave him alone.” Xaden responded. “Bodhi’s growing up, let him live. He deserves it. And don’t give him shit in the morning for this.”
“Like he’s going to have any stories to tell in the -Oh shit.”
Xaden turned Garrick away, giving his cousin the privacy he clearly wasn’t giving himself as he and the healer were kissing in the middle of a crowded party. And even if he did have to deal with Garrick’s ramblings at how different Bodhi was acting Xaden knew that Bodhi was simply, no, finally being who he was always meant to be. Not the shadow or the spare, but just, Bodhi.

Bodhi Week: The Right Hand
I’m going to try to post something each day for the prompts so here’s a little for the first day of Bodhi week. Also, happy mums day to all the moms, mothers and m(o)therly figures. I also am posted without a deep proof read so enjoy lolol
Day 1: Right Hand | Bodhi said he is Xaden’s right-fucking-hand. Wherever Xaden goes, Bodhi follows. Explore that.
Xaden had faced many trials in his life. Raised in a fortress to become a duke, his mother’s abandonment, rebellion, his father’s death, fostering, Basgiath, the whole becoming a Venin for love. War. Loss. From the moment of his birth, truly he had few moments in his life of peace. Yet, when peace had finally found him, foes vanquished, a rightful heir on the throne of Navarre, and his own duchy returned to him. Finally he himself being fucking cured. All of the moments of the present should surpass any pain of the past.
Yet.
Xaden still had trials and tribulations. And of all the creatures who bested him, it was his very own genetics.
Aurora was crying again. HIs sweet, perfect little girl was a mess in his arms. Thrashing and kicking and wanting nothing to do with her father. He couldn’t blame her, they both had been up since midnight and after he walked her up and down every hallway and corridor in Riorson House, they both stood exhausted in the kitchen with Xaden holding his girl in one hand while the other desperately tired to fiddle with the stove to heat up some milk. One thing was certain, he would not wake up Violet. Absolutely not. He could handle this.
War. Rebellion, Veninism, he overcame it all. A teething daughter, this was a walk across the parpet for him.
“Can I-“
“I don’t need your help, Bodhi.” Xaden snarled, his eyes half on his crying daughter and on the flame of the stove. None of his attention on Bodhi who stood next to him. But even he could tell he was fighting a smirk.
“I was going to say assist.” Bodhi corrected, his smirk finally forming, “Not help. But assist.”
“What do you know about assisting a child who wont sleep for the second night in a row?”
He shrugged, moving the kettle off of the flames to a back burner, “Rowan and Kiara were both little monsters when their teeth came in. And I imagine the boys to be the same in a couple of months.” Right, Bodhi had been a father for years now with two additions to his growing family. Garrick had joked he and his wife were taking the rebuilding of Aretia as more of a repopulation. And honestly, Xaden couldn’t be more proud of his cousin. He was an excellent father.
But that doesn’t mean he gets to know that. Xaden couldn’t help but narrow his eyes. Bodhi kept smiling.
“So, can I be of assistance?”
“You’re really making me ask?”
“I mean I could tell you to say please, but then I would just be mean.”
His daughters wails were now pressing into the depths of his soul. So he would do as any father would, swallow his pride. “Fine, please assist me.”
“Gladly.” Bodhi turned and opened the drawer in front of him to pull out a cloth. Next he walked into the cold room, to retrieve a vase filled with some unknown liquid. Dipping the cloth in the cold water he walked back over Xaden, gently pulling his free hand and wrapping the wet material around his finger tip. “This is chilled chamomile tea. Lucky for us, you’ve kept the family chef hired since we were kids, so I always know she has some stored in the cold room. A little bit of this on a wet cloth, and Aurora will be soothed in no time.”
Bodhi guided Xaden’s finger towards his daughters wailing lips, gently settling his finger along her sore gums. And, as if Bodhi grew a third signet, Aurora became silent as she gnawed on her fathers finger.
Xaden closed his eyes, letting out a sigh. He stood there, holding his daughter as her eyes began to grow heavy with sleep. Just a few more minutes and, yes. Asleep at last.
“Try it in the morning and right before bed. It can help with any restless nights.” Bodhi adds while he walks over to sit at the kitchen table. Xaden turned slowly, eyeing his cousin.
“Suppose I owe you for this.”
“I’m your right hand, Xaden. It’s my job.”
Xaden paused. The war was over, he was cured, and they’ve all grown in the years. But, throughout those years, Bodhi was always there. Even if it was a step behind. Helping everyone hide in Riorson House during the battle of Aretia. Soothing the smaller kids during their days at Calldyr. Always watching out for everyone. Protecting Violet when he couldn’t. Taking the duchy when Xaden couldn’t. Yet, as much as Xaden thought he made it public that he didn’t need a right hand, Bodhi was still there. Just as he is now.
“Thank you, Bodhi.” Xaden finally said.
Bodhi tilted his head, “You should get some sleep, you’re starting to sound…nice.”
Another glare. But Bodhi was right, Xaden was exhausted. “What are you doing up anyways?”
“I figured I’d make the kids breakfast, save Mal some trouble this morning. Get some sleep and I’ll make some extra for you and Violet.”
“I’m tired but I’m not weak enough for you to feed me.”
But Xaden didn’t really protest when Bodhi helped fasten Aurora to his chest with a large cloth so he could close his eyes just slightly so he could get a small amount of rest. He knew Bodhi would wake him if overslept or if Aurora needed anything. Still he kept his arms wrapped around her, knowing that even if occupied, he always had his right hand.

I am swooning at the Headcanon of Bodhi being the type of guy to bring his partner breakfast in bed every day.
Even if he’s been up at night he still gets you breakfast. If he has to wake up early to do something for Xaden, he will still have the tray ready for you.
And he switches it up too. Eggs somedays, oatmeal other days. He knows if you have a big day of training ahead it’s extra potatoes and protein. If you had a long night he’s got a strong cup of tea for you. And if the kitchens don’t have it made already, he will do it himself.
It’s one of the ways he shows his love. He wants to provide and take care of you. And yeah he’s going back to the kitchens if you want more and want seconds.

I am starting to fall back in love with Xaden (I was hooked on Brennan for a bit) so could you pretty please do a scenario when Xaden seems tired from the day and just wants to cuddle up with the reader and they wind him down, with affection and lots of soft, sweet kisses. He gets really soft and just so cute and feels as if he can't physically leave the reader's embrace for even one second, but then Garrick comes barging in and teases him about it.
Yes the third book really made me appreciate Xaden and I can see the love around him. And he does so much for the Marked Ones, his people, and Tyrrendor.
I hope this brings your headcanon request to life!!
Xaden walks into your shared room and the moment the doors click behind him his posture drops and he begins to shed black attire. Xaden didn’t even bother to put his clothes in the bin. They just drop to the floor. You know he’s in need of care
“Come here.” You call from your spot on your mattress. Your arms open wide to receive him. He stares at you with beautiful yet fatigued eyes. And then he steps forward towards the edge of the bed frame and begins to crawl on his hands and knees towards you. Once he’s close enough he lays his head in your lap. His arms curling around you in your seated position much like you’ve become his pillow. You begin to run your hand just to his hair and he lets out a sigh you know he’s been holding in all day.
Your nails begin to scratch at his scalp, slow upward motions around the top of his head and down to his neck.
“Beautiful.” He mumbles into your thighs, “I don’t deserve you.”
“Yes you do.” You remind him, “you deserve love, peace, your province, and you deserve rest and for me to take care of you.”
You continue to play with his hair and Occasionally you’ll lean down to kiss his head or he’ll lift up off your lap and give you soft kisses before resting his head back down. Sometimes he spoke about his day, sometimes getting your opinions on matters of the province. Other times it’s silent and that’s alright too.
There was that time though that you were interrupted by Garrick wielding himself into your room on accident. It was noted when he ‘walks’ he can actually go through wards. He suddenly appeared and starting laughing, teasing Xaden on how cute he looked snuggled up against you getting loved on. Xadens shadows moved so fast Garrick wielded out of the room but still got a bruise.
It didn’t matter who saw in the end, Xaden deserves love and care. He deserved it all.
