current vibe: working hard and making myself happy

College is hard but it's feels so much more freeing than when I was working. I can fill my day going to different places, work at more of my own pace and can spend my time with the people I choose.

I'm really going to focus on appreciating this peace and enjoying my lessons. Gonna romanticize this journey best I can ❤️

ways to romanticize school

🎀 listen to non-lyrical music (jazz, lofi, classical, etc.)

🧁 drink something you like out of your favorite mug - tea, coffee, chai, matcha, etc.

🎀 set your preferred ambiance. light a candle, turn off overhead lights, spray some of your favorite body mist, etc.

🧁 if you’re having trouble pushing through, watch “study with me” videos on youtube

🎀 cute stationary

🧁 use your breaks to do something you really enjoy. workout or stretch, take a bubble bath, bake or cook, go for a walk, etc.

🎀 have study icons to look up to and watch them when you feel discouraged - elle woods (legally blonde), rory gilmore or paris geller (gilmore girls), spencer hastings (pretty little liars), etc.

🧁 do your makeup, outfit, and hair with what makes you feel happy and productive. wear comfy, but cute clothes, maybe tie up your hair in a different way, and do makeup that makes you feel confident.

🧁 create a vision board and look at it frequently

Hey there!

I'm a slightly older student who's returned to school to study computer science! :) I'm a hot mess, I worked as an engineer for some years, then as a data analyst and am trying to raise my skills to get more job opportunities in this awful market. I'm also completely burnt out and this is my "career break" 🙃

After my first introduction class (java based) I am super overwhelmed. This is my blog where I hope to encourage myself and other women in STEM/adult students to get through this! :) I'll also share cute studyblr content, lofi aesthetic and work life balance stuff! I'm hoping to graduate between Fall 2025 and Spring 2026!
