A Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) is a digital equivalent of a physical or paper certificate. In other words it validates the identity of a person digitally issued by a Certifying Authority(CA). Class 3: These are issued to vendors who wish to participate in e-auctions, online tenders anywhere in India. It is a must for a vendor to have a Class 3 certificate in order to participate in an online tender. 

DGFT Certificates: For transactions that need to be made through a DGFT web portal, an electronic format of a signature is mandatory. This can be used by group exporters and importers who are already registered with the DGFT.
