Can't praise this detail enough.

Magical Girl shows very often include a fancy transformation when the girls go into their superhero 'Magical Girl' forms.

It's a CLASSIC.

And like, we all poke fun of it, like we poke fun of everything that isn't realistic.

BUT IT'S FUN. OKAY?!?! I LOVE THESE!!!

But with Aika, it's the complete opposite.

She just poofs into her Star Guardian form.

(Is that a reference to the Sailor Moon Manga???)

At first you think "Haha, parody. They're making fun of Magical Girl transformations being unrealistic."

And it technically is that, but it's also very showing not telling of Aika's character.

Her magical life is the 'normal life'.

So her 'magical girl transformation' is her DE-TRANSFORMING into a normal human.

THIS is what she's enthusiastic about. So THIS is what she puts the energy on to have a full blown transformation.

All I'm saying is, this little animatic is amazing at introducing a character and getting you a great grasp on who they are.
