[Reactions to a tweet of A Wrinkle In Time poster focused on the girl hero, with a a comment “This is a GREAT poster - but don’t they want little boys to see this too?”]
“If we keep teaching boys they have to be centered they will never learn to listen to anyone else’s stories.” -  Mikki Kendall
“This tweet is why so many men had brain meltdowns over Last Jedi. Society has told them if they are not centered then it’s not for their consumption. They can’t/shouldn’t connect with it. Stop teaching boys this bullshit message.” - @mel_thegreat

Great read by feminist writer Amanda Hess on why James Deen was never really a feminist hero.
I’ve been a feminist organizer since I was fifteen. Not all porn is exploitative of women and I stand with performers, sex workers, and their allies in their right to organize and protect themselves, including legalization. Let’s not confuse embattled women with criminals. Focus the attention on the ones that forced them into servitude.
Every time I see a feminist praise a porn company for dropping James Deen I want to throw myself into the sun.

Young feminists in Canada have declared today #CropTopDay in protest of sexist dress codes that sexualize and dehumanize students. (More info on their action and the overwhelmingly positive response here.)
100,000,000% in solidarity with this.

Who says feminists don’t have a sense of humor?! Some great, tongue in cheek gear out of the Hillary campaign today. Check out the rest here.

What does “feminism” mean today? That is the question at the heart of “We Should All Be Feminists”, a personal, eloquently-argued essay—adapted from her much-viewed TEDx talk of the same name—by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, the award-winning author of Americanah and Half of a Yellow Sun.  With humor and levity, here Adichie offers readers a unique definition of feminism for the twenty-first century—one rooted in inclusion and awareness. She shines a light not only on blatant discrimination, but also the more insidious, institutional behaviors that marginalize women around the world, in order to help readers of all walks of life better understand the often masked realities of sexual politics.  Argued in the same observant, witty and clever prose that has made Adichie a bestselling novelist, here is one remarkable author’s exploration of what it means to be a woman today—and an of-the-moment rallying cry for why we should all be feminists. Read more about this and other #VintageShortshere: http://knopfdoubleday.com/book/246919/we-should-all-be-feminists/ #feminism
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s “We Should All Be Feminists” — adapted from her much-viewed TEDx talk of the same name—is now available as a .99¢ EBook!

So for the last four months or so, I have taken part in the body positivity movement on Instagram, including posting photos of myself in my bikini and underwear/bra. Keep in mind that none of my photos have ever been sexually explicit or suggestive and that I have always been fully covered. As far...

So many of you had awesome responses to this black card (only ~60% of which were variations on masturbation, nice work ladies!), but these three were the ones that made me lol. Clockwise from top, white cards by katrinarosa, @rock-it-ship, and @bigawkwardgirl.
