My name is...was... Camden Lahey. My name is...was... Abel. I am the Shepherd of the Dead and Living, but, seeing as I died in Iraq, it is mostly the dead now. Necromancy and Persuasion are my arts. The reasons I haven't moved on... Two people. The first, and most simple, is my brother. Isaac Lahey. Cain. The one I love most. The second is a lot more complicated. The one I should hate, but find myself falling in love with. One Luke Kitridge.

Camden's gaze hardened and his voice lowered to a whisper, "Look, you wanna know the story? I'm his brother. I went missing in action over in Iraq a couple years ago and they called me dead for awhile. In reality I got captured by Al Qaeda. He doesn't know I'm alive, and until he can see me for himself, he won't. Got it?"
He groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose. "As for jumpy and avoidy, that's half memories and half knowing how Izzy'll react if someone just tells him." The glare returned.
"So please, don't screw up my reunion with my brother."

Damn. It would happen that the kid knew Isaac.
"Uh, he doesn't know I'm in town," was all he said, face paling. There was the unspoken "or even alive" that rung in his ears, but the kid probably wouldn't figure that one out.
He handed the kid his coffee and grabbed his own, the Vietnamese iced coffee he'd referred to as Vieticed since meeting Luke. "Look, don't tell Isaac I'm here. It's uh, it's a surprise. Sorry about your coffee."
He turned to leave, frowning, before stopping with a chastised shake of the head. He pulled out a scrap of paper with his own, not Luke's, phone number on it and handed it to the kid. "Uh, if he gets into any trouble, just call me, kay? Or if you need anything." He would kill himself for the last bit later.

Truth || psychoticalpha
Camden lay on the grass of the preserve, letting memories fly through his mind. He heard the rustling of leaves, the obvious sign of another person being there. He didn't make a move to get up, simply raised his hand in greeting.
His eyes fluttered open as the person got closer, so soon he was staring up at the man. Handsome, older, with a face like a smirk was his default expression.
He rose to his feet and gave the shorter man a hard stare. "You're Peter Hale... I was a classmate of your niece, Laura." Laura hadn't been a favorite, but they had traveled in the same friend circle. Which meant the occasional turn at the Hale house.

Bam! || argentstella
Camden swung his shepherd's staff hard, letting it's harsh contact with the man's head resound through the forest. He finally let it rest vertical, more holding him up than any pride, when the man (a rogue hunter) collapsed into the dirt. He squatted by the man, still holding the staff vertical, "This is why you don't mess with Beacon Hills."
He turned quickly to catch sight of the girl. "Oi! You're one of Isaac's friends, right?" He'd seen her around, when he was following his brother at a careful distance. Of course, said brother didn't know he was back in town (or even alive) yet. Which might be problematic if that Stiles kid got involved.
He was still completely nonchalant about the unconscious (he hadn't hit that hard, jeez) man beside him.

"I'm here. I'm going to protect you. He will not be taking you back, or getting close enough to try and kill you. You are my little brother, and damn it if I don't kill him first."
Cam could cry, but he needed to stay strong for his brother. He pulled him into a hug, “Isaac, I don’t care. It isn’t safe. And he can’t just tell you not to talk to someone! What if he told you not to talk to me? You are getting out of there. At least take a break! Date other people! See what a real relationship is like!”

"I'm right here, Izzy." He wrapped him closer in his arms, whispering soothingly into his ear, the lullaby their mother used to sing them. "And nothing will ever make me leave you again."
"If you were dreaming, it would be like all the other dreams you wrote me about, wouldn’t it. It would be me coming home and then something bad happening right when we touched. That isn’t happening, Isaac." He pulled his brother into a hug. "Isaac, I’m right here."

"Isaac." Camden was having to stop himself from screaming. His brother didn’t need that. "What he’s done, no matter what you did unless you decided to throw that first punch, no matter what you do not deserve that!" He pointed to the blooming bruise on Isaac’s neck.

He can feel the glare set in, same with the smirk as he grasps his brother's chin and presses a firm kiss to his forehead. "We'll see, Cain. We will certainly see." With that he rises from the bench to leave. He pauses a moment and drops a piece of paper in his brother's lap. "You can reach me there if you need to. If you wish to. Probably not immediately, it is Luke's number after all."
"True. So very true." He gave a part sigh, part chuckle. "Can’t help but think, this may turn out like the first time. Hopefully not. But your personality is now pretty damned close to that first time." He turned to the wolf, and smiled, eyes going a vivid, warm brown from their normal blue. "We’ve done so well till now. too."

"Isaac, I don’t care how fast it will heal, I don’t care what they could do to me if I confront them, just tell me. Who. Did. This. To. You."
"It was an accident… He didn’t mean to. I made him mad, I knew better. I’m so stupid, it’s my fault. I have to take responsibility Cam."

|REACTION MEME| Bruised and Broken Version
"Woah, when did you get that?"
"Who did this to you?"
"How many time have I told you to be more careful?"
"You’re saying this was an accident?"
"What a shiner!"
"If you look like this, I’d hate to see the other guy."
"I’m not buying it, you don’t walk into a door and get a bruise like that!"
"Does it hurt when I touch it?"
"Let me kiss it better."
"If you don’t rest, you won’t heal."
"Another fight?"
"What happened to your face?"
"I don’t think your arm is meant to bend like that…"
"Let’s get you to bed."
"Let’s get you to the hospital."
"Why are you so calm about this?"
"You’re bleeding!"
"What are friends for, ey?"
"So, instead of helping you, they ran off the moment they saw what was happening?"
"You need to look where you’re going."
"I’m not accusing anyone, I’m just saying it looks suspicious."
"Do you want to tell me what really happened?"
"Don’t move! You’ll faint!"
"I’ve got some bandages, wait a sec."
"You’re the clumsiest person I know."
"I won’t let you be on your own, not when you’re like this."
"How could you be so careless?"
"I can’t even look at you, you promised not to get into any more fights!"
"H-how many of them were there?"

"I didn’t quite mean the werewolf thing, kiddo," Cam replied, smirk on his face. "You’ve thrived better than you would have even if I’d have gotten you out of there as soon as I turned eighteen. The only thing I’m upset about… I’m upset I missed all these years. And that they never told you I was alive."
