{ the castle grounds hadn’t been disturbed for hours, she had been a prisoner to one of gisborne’s dull and rather amusing attempts at trying to win her affection. all day, he had been on her mind, he being the most notorious outlaw of nottingham. an argument with a couple of the guards, that would certainly land her in trouble with the sheriff but other that, it was an easy transition. }
{ the sun cast; orange and pinks splattered. } { leaves crunched at the sound of her light footsteps, now in the land of outlaws; sherwood forest. she rested her hues on the ground, her features softened, the sun setting rather quickly. a smile touched her lips, how familiar his presence was to her. }
❝ It’s rude to sneak up on a w o m a n. ❞
( The rest of the day he'd been hunting. Lately the group had been running low on food for themselves, given that they kept handing it over to those worse off than them. ) ( But here he is. Not really one to miss an agreed time. It was almost an assigned meeting place they came to -- the location was not exact, but more or so a general span of area. Robin had always been quite good at finding things, after all. ) ( He approaches from behind, eyebrow raised at the statement as he s t o p s a foot or so distance from her heels. ) ❛---- Is it ?❜ ❛I never realized.❜

« wonderful! i shall leave you to it, man. » with that, he takes the bow from his back and hands it gently to the stranger. but as he reaches for his quiver — oh, he took it, didn’t he? oh, god, didn’t he take it? oh, but what if he didn’t?
« oh, goodness — oh, my — i — i — i fear i have forgotten my arrows… ! »
❛Oh, I wouldn't worry [ too ] much about that if I were you !❜ ( As a smirk curled at his lips, he took the proffered bow. He balances it in one hand before crouching low towards the ground, running his hand over the layer of dirt. ) ( He had not expected a situation like this one to occur, hence why he did not possess his own weaponry at this moment in time. Those he left back at the camp ; he'd only been hunting firewood. ) ( When he stands once more, in his hand is a small collection of pebbles. They wouldn't do much d a m a g e , but they could certainly hurt enough to put the assassins off. Unless he aimed straight at their foreheads, but he'd avoid that if he could. ) ❛Any idea where they're coming from or is this a game of hide and seek ?❜

‘ oh — ? and who are you to decide what’s true and what isn’t — ? ’
❛Well I'd ask the same of you !❜ ❛Maybe you just don't have a sense of humour !❜ ❛Meanwhile, I only EVER tell funny jokes.❜

He was aware it was a test - a clever one, laid with care and the tiniest hint of truth to bait a man in. Allan frowned as he paused in his path, his bright eyes narrowing as they met the practically gloating expression on Robin’s face… but how could he take the chance that maybe it was true?
It just wasn’t in his nature, and the outlaw began to walk once more: although his feet placed more carefully on the ground with each step, as though even the journey there was laced with traps.
❛F i n e. I’ll come. But I swear: you’d better have something good, Robin. It’s not nice to trick your friends!❜

The irony of his statement was not lost on Allan - but perhaps it would draw some part of his conscience to the front of Robin’s mind.
❛Isn't it ? You know it would all depend on what you view see as being a 'good' reward.❜ ❛Is it 'good' if you deserve it or 'good' if it suits your taste ?❜ ( While he says these things playfully, an ounce of seriousness lies somewhere in his words -- a very d e e p question to ask, really. Philosophy wasn't Robin's best subject, but to say he didn't have moments of random enlightenment would be a lie. ) ❛You are the one who wants it, remember.❜ ❛It doesn't matter what the reward is, it matters whether or not you would take the risk.❜ ( Or in other words, would he put his [ greed ] above the danger he could be walking into ? )

‘ who says i claimed anything — ? maybe it was just a statement of fact. ’
❛I could be offended by that !❜ ❛⁻⁻ But since it's not at all true, I could hardly do such a thing.❜

Headcanon #3 : family ties
Given that Will Scarlet is Robin's nephew, and his last name is different to Robin's, it's clear that Robin had at least one sister whom married a man by the last name of Scarlet. She will have died while Robin was away in the Holy Land and he returned to find she had starved to death because of the Sheriff's rule. This is another reason why Robin fights for his cause ; because the Sheriff caused the death of Robin's only and older sister. She would have been at least 17 or so years older than Robin, as Will is only a couple of years younger than him. In between Robin and his sister, there would have been a brother, but since Robin became a noble and gained rule of Locksley at a young age, he was more than likely still born, or died a few months after birth. Which would mean that his parents would have needed time before trying for another child, and probably only did so because they needed a male heir to take charge of Locksley. So, he would have been around 5 at the time of his sister's death, and about 10-15 years later his parents would have died from old age, or perhaps starvation from looking after the rest of his sister's family at around the age of 55. ADDITION: Robin's mum died during childbirth, generally because of the fact she's already lost one child. His dad then died trying to provide for his family by himself.

' i never said you couldn't,but do shut up, robin. ’ she is thankful for the reassurance, however ;; she knew he could look after himself, but she doubted that he could look after himself right now. she knows that he’s the best archer she has ever met, and she knows that he has truly cheated death so many times before… but she can smell death, so close. she knows its quaint scent. death is a F R I E N D — but she is not willing to give robin up. so she squeezes his hand once more, before she allows herself to focus upon what she is about to do ;; the image of the small wooden box he speaks of, which she thankfully has seen before, in the hollow beneath the great oak fills her mind, and she takes in a deep breath as in to steady her frantic heart. she seems to be drifting elsewhere, as if she herself had left robin to go out to fetch this box — but she knows she hasn’t. her hands still remain tightly latched to his. she opens her eyes ;; and when she does, the box lies in her hands. she is so amazed and shocked that it worked that she nearly dropped, but thankfully, she did not — letting go of robin’s hand, she opened the box, and with trembling, — bloody hands, she searched for the needle and thread. ’ i can do this, ’ she keeps whispering, ignoring the fact she had just performed magic in front of another human being, an act she has never done before. it feels almost forbidden, but she is so very focused on saving robin’s life it does not truly matter! she knows he won’t point at her and call her a D E M O N ;; and so it doesn’t matter. he accepts her for what she is, demon or not. & that is why she has to save him.

( She had not left his side, and yet she was already in possession of the necessary equipment. Perhaps he would have been surprised if t'was not for the disorientation and nausea settling in due to the loss of blood -- vision slightly blurred and wavering. Well, perhaps the people had not been wrong when they had accused her of sorcery. But he did not much care. Whether she may be in league with sᴀᴛᴀɴ or not did not matter to Robin, for she was his friend. ) ( They were very much in the same boat in this sense. A witch and a HERETIC. They could both be burned at the stake for that, though any punishment or sentence Robin may ever receive would likely be a lot slower and more painful than just a f i r e. ) ( He watches her retrieve the needle and thread in silence, as she had demanded silence of him. Yet, whether or not his gaze may be concentrate doesn't matter -- spots of darkness clouding his vision, perspiration on his forehead and his palms ; the clammy touch of death that he's itching to avoid. And hopefully he could do just that. ) ❛⁻⁻⁻⁻⁻⁻⁻⁻⁻ ʸᵒᵘ ᶜᵃᶰ❜ ( He has confidence in her, of course. Maybe confidence was the only thing he really needed -- because he has plenty of that to go around. )
