THREE TYPES OF LAW PROFESSORS YOU WILL MEET IN LAW SCHOOL
Sure ako na kakabahan ka because you may not be able to visualize kung anong meron sa law school despite your ideas and expectations in law school sa mga napapanood mo sa kdrama or minsan sa Filipino movies and dramas.
Siyempre first year at excited ka to meet and make friends kasi nga you are in a new environment, making yourself comfortable with the new avenue to learn and practice as making your own path in legal profession.
So I have prepared at least three types of professors you are about to meet in law school:
Mother Teresa
Heto yung law professors mo na ibaby baby ka during law recitations, will ask you to recite and will allow you to even read your codal while reciting such law or case. This type of professor is once in a million times na mangyari sa law school at kung mameet mo ito , then consider yourself lucky yet don’t be complacent kasi may times na kapag magalit yan , bye bye na grades mo. I have no wide knowledge kung sya ba ay smiling singko pero sana hindi siya ganyan.
Smiling “Singko”
The professor who smiles before you and upon shuffling the index cards/class cards on his table is the most and frequent professors you about to meet in your law school. Minsan cracks a joke inside the class and minsan naman asks you about your life activities yet never ever be complacent kasi yang professor nayan has flunked even graduating law students and cried mostly in the entire semester.
The Terror
A kind of professor that is ubiquitous and well-heard professor na once na maging professor mo sa isang subject, goosebumps talaga ma fefeel mo kapag tatawagin ka or while shuffling the index cards. A kind of professor that will ask you and presses you harder and harder just to pressured you and sometimes let you ask yourself how bad are you and how underperforming are you in the law school.  Iyong tipong mag ooral recitation kayo tapos he/she will ask you multiple questions besides nasagot muna yung first question niya sa’yo.
Now I shall ask you as a law or incoming law student, are you ready and have you already erased the expectations you have drawn on your mind with regard to the lives of law students in law school. My only advice to you as your fellow law student is to listen and study your codals and books kasi that will become your weapon in combatting against your professor during oral recitations.

Three things you have to let go of before you enter law school.
There is nothing more terrifying than being excited about getting yourself into law school, up until now I could not narrate what I endured before I got myself a seat in law school. But what I can only tell you right now is the three things before you get yourself a chance to be interviewed for admission to a law school you wish to join and make your dream as a lawyer.
Being a movie addict.
I know that people are hooked with kdramas, movies, Netflix, and other video streaming sites with astounding trailers and teasers of their favorite actors and actresses, you have to remember that you have to sacrifice your time and chances just to survive in law school and become your ambition as a lawyer. I am honestly saying that I am one of this kind since I got a seat in law school though. I have been trying to solve this addiction by myself, and here are the things that I got to endure this hell out; a. get a piece of paper and write this word “ I will give you a time self to watch your favorite series “ this one shall let you reminded every single day that you have some responsibilities to do before entertainment.  I know its hard but you have to discipline yourself about getting a chance to focus on your dream. Remove viki, viu, Netflix, or any other video streaming sites mobile apps on your phone, this action shall pave the way too much for your time to study. I know its getting harder and harder though but being finite to yourself is the best way to be productive. Finally, unlike facebook pages containing kdrama actors/actresses or movie/series that will hook you up to watch them and forget your task to do in that day. This may be helpful for you to take some time in arranging the cases assigned to you by your professor or beadle during class hours in law school.
Social Media
I know that you are being hooked on your phone and nothing you can’t do but to join with the trends today, social media is one of your problems and you have to prepare yourself to let that vanish gradually because that will not help you survive law school. This is what I totally heard from my professor during our orientation social media shall not bother any law student due to their excessive amount of time spent and not anyone’s book, codals, and other law students’ material. I have three things that will help you to solve this kind of problem of yours; deactivate your social media accounts and only open your messenger account active. This helps you to boost your time management and maximize your schedule of yours to spend it wisely and not on surfing the net. Remove facebook app on your phone before you get into law school, this might be unbelievable but it will help you to forget that you might have notifications on your phone, friend requests from your crush, or just annoying posts from someone, this helps you to focus in your subjects in law school.
Being “Magastus”.
Being “magastus” in law school is a hell experience once you got yourself studying in law, due to the number of books you have to invest for such as Persons and Family Relations, Civil Code of the Philippines, and more. Your money in your pocket right now shall be your life saver once you are about to recite cases, articles , etc. The solution is that remove shopping sites on your phone and save your money to buy books for your own good.
Now that I have given you three things that you have to let go of before you get yourself a seat in law school, due to the fact that entering to legal profession is not a joke and you have to prepare ahead before beating the bar and become a lawyer you wish and your family and loved ones wish for you to be.
I know that you are planning to hate yourself for doing things that you don’t normally do while you are in law school, you have to do so and after four years of torturing yourself and have beaten the bar will thank yourself and those people around you especially God for making you a disciplined lawyer with a mission.

Is Law School for Everyone?
Had there been a time during your younger years living on this planet an incident predicting your future career would be, events like you were appreciated because of how you deal with people, how you explained and argued with them in necessities, and motivated to be a lawyer someday? Well, that was the most appreciating part, nevertheless, everyone grew up with a finite way to build his career, some said that I chose this career because this is what I want to do since I grew up, and some said that this career had chosen by my parents and no other choices should be available.
Fast forward, graduated with your degree of choice or passion and asked yourself to decide whether to pursue a graduate degree or just work and earn a living. A yellow bulb appeared and eventually pushed oneself to enroll in law school.
Upon going to the preferred law school, numerous doubts and anxieties popped in on each mind and some thought of giving up getting a seat in law school, and some pushed through for the future career of their dreams, here comes the law admission test of the preferred law school, and the announced admission interview after the test.
Successfully passed both examinations ( Law admission test and the interview ), full of excitement, drawn gargantuan expectations, and even informed friends, and relatives that they have passed those examinations, and they are going to law school. Invested in books, codals, and bought school supplies and even gadgets as someone who is inspired to attend law lectures and case recitations.
During the week-long night classes, everyone is debating about their stands, defending of each decision, here come other professors who would scrutinize anyone and is infamously known as despotic inside the class as eavesdropped from seniors’ meeting in their rendezvous. This would be the time for decision-making process as everyone is deciding whether or not to quit in law school. Every single time everyone is swarming the classroom and attending classes, one classmate at a time left the room and telling the beadle giving up law school.
To answer the question, law school is open for anyone who wishes to study but anyone is expected to leave the premises drizzling tears off the floor as getting one’s backpack leaving the room swiftly without even reaching the second semester. It is a survival of the fittest in law school and whether you like it or not, you must like it and be used to it every single day.
Thank you for your time, please let me know about your experience in law school too.
