“We (humans) torture and kill two billion sentient living beings every week. 10,000 entire species are wiped out every year because of the actions of one, and we are now facing the sixth mass extinction in cosmological history. If any other organism did this, a biologist would consider them a virus.” – Philip Wollen

Although I am perpetually drawn to solitude in my daily life, my awareness of belonging to the worldwide community of conscious humans who actively strive for truth, beauty, and justice has spared me from feelings of isolation.

Asking vegans to respect speciesists–or those who actively support/pay for the abhorrent suffering that is imposed upon hundreds of millions of the most vulnerable non-human animals every nanosecond (trillions every year) on this planet in the name of "food", "fashion/cosmetics", "entertainment", etc. on account of the omnipresent "human superiority complex"–is equivalent to asking feminists to respect sexists, asking racially-discriminated-against people to respect racists, and asking homosexuals to respect homophobes, etc. It is ludicrous to think that difference in opinion warrants mutual respect, especially when the opposing opinion in question appropriates torturous suffering, defends oppression, encourages exploitation, condones rape, and funds murder.
(A paraphrasing of Felix Sampson’s words)
I WILL RESPECT YOUR OPINION AS LONG AS YOUR OPINION DOES NOT DISRESPECT ANYBODY’S EXISTENCE.
...And now to address the “vegan superiority complex”... I do not feel superior to non-vegans because I am vegan. The truth is I am vegan because I do not feel superior to any other living being. In fact, the ultimate superiority complex is believing that a fleeting taste/texture sensation, that which is not imperative to your health/survival (rather detrimental to it in the long-term) but that you irregardless have been conditioned (and therefore can just as well decondition yourself) to habitually enjoy, is more valuable than an innocent, sentient creature’s right to his or her life.

Something very beautiful happens to people when their world has fallen apart: a humility, a nobility, a higher intelligence emerges at just the point when our knees hit the floor.

Feminism means equality between the sexes, and the moral/ethical capacities of women and men are not exempt from this equality.
“…In his attempt at taking a stand against the patriarchy, Moore placed women on a pedestal, suggesting that women are, by nature, on higher moral ground than men. But by negating women’s ability for moral failure, it also effectively negated their human complexities and their capacity for choice — even, perhaps especially, the bad ones. Women have not held positions of power for as long or as frequently as men have. But, as Ellis valiantly pointed out, that does not mean they struggle any less with morality than men do — women are, after all, human too…”

Nobody today is normal, everybody is a little bit crazy or unbalanced, people’s minds are running all the time. Their perceptions of the world are partial, incomplete. They are eaten alive by their egos. They think they see, but they are mistaken; all they do is project their madness, their world, upon the world. There is no clarity, no wisdom in that!
