Criticism to the shifting community — we have to stop!
The shifting community has become one of chaotic, poorly structured ideas. Which can be dangerous if the goal is to help shifters (us) find proper information.
And no, not only on TikTok. Reddit, Tumblr, and Amino are a problem too. There's more stability and coherence here than in Shiftok, yes. But the same diversity:
misinformation disguised as information, or personal beliefs disguised as truths.
The first thing I can say is that we can’t affirm much about shifting and how to reach it, and people use this as an excuse.
Because, of course, the way to shift and achieve it (the path) will be relative to its nature:
• Maybe a kind of ascension to other dimensions for the very spiritual, achieved through deep meditation or rituals if they lean toward witchcraft.
• A "create your reality" for LoA believers, and it’s considered achieved if you act as if it’s already true.
• A change to another reality as a single decision for those who believe we shift with every choice we make, and we get there “through intention.”
And so on...
And when someone tries to search for a truth, criticizing or praising a theory, comes the one, the:
"Shifting is unproven, so all truths are valid"
All opinions are valid, but not all are correct.
If what’s correct defines a path —as I’ve shown— and steps that help us shift, then all opinions are valid, but not all are equally useful.
What is proven? The experience.
But it seems like the community prefers affirming things without considering direct experiences.
“Shifting is safe” —but some people may end up with maladaptive daydreaming, (habitual) dissociation, major lack of energy, trauma, or yes, in some cases, psychosis.
“Shifting is just intention” —but all intention is intention, even the tiniest one, so if so many people haven’t succeeded despite so many attempts this way with more or less intention, it means that it’s not just intention, no matter how much it might help.
“The double-slit experiment proves…” —No, scientifically the double-slit experiment doesn’t prove anything nor is it related to us changing or shifting realities with our decisions. If something scientific is used to explain shifting, it’s only fair to treat it scientifically, not to toss science aside when it’s inconvenient but then use it with misinterpretations to our advantage like a double standard.
“Shifting has no rules” —humans do, our mind is coherent, and so everything we experience must meet conditions that align with that coherence. Conditions are rules, and we experience shifting.
“Shifting is easy” —Out of all shifters, very few have succeeded. While it may be possible for everyone, ease will depend on the person, but commonly it’s difficult. The usual explanation for this claim often refers back to the previous ones, or to some poor interpretation or overly personal take that reduces shifting to something so simple it’s no longer true, ignoring direct experience.
And none of this is negative.
People take it, look at it, perceive it as a threat, and attack these ideas for being truths. And those attacks, as always, come in loud voices, driven by emotional impulse. They make so much noise in this community that they’re more convincing than the truth of personal experience. They silence with their screams ideas that could be useful because they are considered threats, ah, but "all opinions are valid" ("until it's not my opinion"). And we end up surrounded by misinformation and ideas that don’t help us in the process —even if some of them might be true, we can’t currently bet on that truth with the information we have.
The statements I’ve made don’t change the truth of shifting
—they may change the process or how it manifests, but they don’t change whether shifting exists or not. They don’t change your ability to shift, which is why we must try to approach the truth without fear.
Instead of randomly declaring things based on our view of shifting, our wishes, and using cheap excuses so anything we invent can be true, like “shifting has no proof,” as I mentioned earlier, we have a massive amount of shifting experiences that are observable, researchable, and allow us to understand shifting through observation —not free, individualistic interpretations. And this, regardless of your beliefs, is still true: we can better understand the phenomenon if we base it on what we can observe, not on speculation.
What can we say shifting is with certainty?
A completely tangible and immersive experience that differs from a usual lucid dream or what one would expect from it, with enough sensory characteristics for the idea of it being a total reality shift to be thinkable —though not affirmable.
How do you shift from this certainty?
In the experiences I’ve read, everyone agrees that people usually use a method. A meditation. The symptoms often indicate either the body falling asleep or an altered state of consciousness. Since in most altered states of consciousness in which shfiting is achieved, the body is asleep, we can agree that we need:
1. Sleeping body.
Here, the subjectivity of shifting doesn’t act as much, because it’s a repeated pattern across experiences. For the first time in shifting history, this step has objectivity within the practice.
This post isn’t to define these objective steps —to do that I’d need surveys and experiences in front of me— so I’ll leave this as an example and won’t keep listing. But there you have an example of the search for global, objective steps that we must reach despite the relativity of shifting to each person.
Listing them by studying these kinds of experiences helps to give us a clear path that shifters can follow to shift.
Otherwise, people are forced to do constant “trial and error” until they try all possible paths before they find the one that lets them shift, which is what’s currently happening in the community.
Your beliefs and interpretations of shifting don’t matter here. What we all agree on is that to discover the steps to shift, our safest option is experiences —meaning the greatest contact we have with shifting: direct observation.
We need to stop needing shifting to be easy, because it not being easy doesn’t mean it’s not possible.
We need to stop using the excuse “you’re making shifting too complex,” because complexity is subjective and most of the time that complexity comes from real elements that make up shifting (steps), and ignoring them makes shifting harder.
Ignorance gives happiness but knowledge gives freedom.
Again, shifting is possible, and whether or not you understand the concept doesn’t change that truth (because that’s what makes it a truth). However, it can help us see these objective steps that we can take to shorten our process. But no, the difficulty someone may have understanding it —because for that person one theory or another may feel complex— does not change whether or not you will be able to shift.
And no, "everything is possible” isn’t true either, because that phrase is paradoxical, and I’ve already explained the part about experience and conditions. Even in the multiverse, there are rules. That doesn’t mean there aren’t infinite possibilities even just in our reality. Because rules are limits, yes, but those limits don’t have to be small (and they aren't! The vast amount of technology we have only in one reality proves it) In many cases, it’s these rules that cause order which allows things to be possible in the first place, because things have causes and consequences, an order that comes from rules and makes the phenomenon happen. Shifting needs rules, and rules aren’t our enemy —they are what allow this to exist. If any of them didn't exist, shifting would fall apart.
Shifting can be scientifically proven simply because we experience it, which implies tangibility, because you yourself are tangible. Tangible things have at least consequences or reactions that are, in principle, measurable. Even if shifting in its general idea isn’t tangible, it connects with the tangible, meaning those reactions and consequences occur and are observable.
And much more! These are just examples.
So I think as a community we need to breathe and restart, begin separating ourselves and our beliefs from the practice itself, and turn Shiftok, Reddit, Tumblr, and Amino into something far more coherent and useful than they are now.
The End

The interrupted shifting method - Altered states of consciousness
I recently discovered that I had serious problems trying awake methods: I fall asleep. I also can't do asleep methods because they cause me insomnia. So I made this method.
Index
Important data about the method
My 3 days of experience with this method
The method
The specific way I did this method
Important data about the method
I've been meditating during nap time for a long time. And many of those times I've had OOBEs, or lucid dreams. Not all of them, and I hadn't experienced it for a long time.
Most of these things happened to me because the nap was the perfect time between being able to fall asleep, but not being tired enough. That is, my sleep was interrupted or did not occur at all, allowing me to be in a state between wakefulness and sleep more often.
Unfortunately, I often ended up falling asleep, waking up too late, etc.
So, I have predisposition to this method. But interrupted sleep associated with these experiences is quite common, so perhaps the method will be useful for you.
My 3 days experience
First day (I did it in the nap time, after eating). I ended up in a lucid dream, then floating, I was floating on the edge of lucid dreams until I decided to wake up
First day (night) At night, for some reason, the methods keep me awake instead of working, and I abandoned this one before finishing it because the same thing was happening to me and I wanted to sleep. I quit at 2:15 a.m. At 2:40 I woke up with sleep paralysis. I would have used it if I hadn't realized it too late.
Second day (nap time too). I ended up in the pre-void state, in complete darkness, floating, with no external noise, but on the edge of lucid dreaming.
I invite you to try it
Remember that many times when we end up falling asleep instead of meditating, it may be because our body is prioritizing other processes that need rest. If you don't shift because you fall asleep and it could be for something related to that, I recommend you sleep and try the method when you are in a suitable situation.
Method
Duration: 1:30h less or more depending on you
Recommended background music: theta waves, waves that are predominant in altered states of consciousness. Thought I would like to try also gamma waves in the last part of the method.
Method:
First you are going to set an alarm for 13 minutes.
The phone has to be at your feet, you have to sit down to be able to remove the alarm, not just move your hand.
What you do next is up to you, but I'll tell you what I do. So, you lie down, and you meditate. For the first few minutes, get comfortable, change your position, move around a bit, and then you can talk to yourself to calm down. At this point I like to pretend I'm in an area of my mind specifically dedicated to meditation, and I give myself affirmations that I am in a safe place, I run my mind through my body to relax and let go, I become aware of constant things: the feeling of my body. Etc.
At the end of this part, I usually start having little spasms in my body, which is the first state of sleep, when your body is starting to fall asleep but you're still awake. I may also feel like I am "spinning", "falling", etc.
These are all symptoms of that first part of the sleep cycle, not shifting specifically, so don't get distracted!
Then the alarm sounds
Now you set an alarm of 18/17 minutes. Usually, is adding 5 min (10-15-20-25...). But I put 13-17 to have minutes to prepare and recover from waking up dramatically.
Now you have to do exactly the same thing as before. It will take less effort to get back to the state you were in.
Usually at the end of this stretch of meditation, I tend to be distracted. Almost asleep but not quite asleep.
The alarm sounds
Now, If you inevitably fall asleep in your methods, in a dramatic way, I recommend going back to a 15-minute meditation, or adding just 5 minutes. But in my case, I'm going for 30min.
At the beginning of this meditation I try to maintain the meditation, but without it being very intense, letting go of the voice in my mind that was guiding me and that is when I begin to observe even more how my mind wanders, things get mixed up, and stories begin to be woven. This is a good sign for me, because it means I'm entering the next step of sleep, and it's a kind of hypnogogic state. I try to watch it without falling asleep completely, but when the next alarm goes off, I've already fallen asleep.
The alarm sounds
Fortunately, just as I'm falling asleep, my alarm goes off, interrupting my sleep. I sit up, gaining consciousness and waking up a little, and fall back into bed. At this point I want to sleep more than meditate, but since I recently woke up and interrupted my sleep, My body falls asleep before I do, so it's easier for me to return to my previous state while remaining awake. When the alarm interrupts my sleep so drastically, and I turn it off quickly, it gives my consciousness time to exist, but not my body time to fully emerge from its previous state. Or at least, that's what happens to me.
It is in these 30 minutes when among all the distractions, the attempt to keep meditating but my body winning, and my body trying to fall asleep but me fighting, that I suddenly find myself in an altered state of consciousness.
The specific way I did this method
In my case 10-15-30-30 is ideal. But if you reach a deep sleep state faster, you might want to do 10-15-15-20-30, more interruptions, less time for your body to take over, but more moments of awareness so you can prioritize wakefulness.
This method is very malleable, because it is based mainly on interruptions that you can vary, and on meditations that you can shape. You can fall asleep at the end, or you can continue for as long as you like. There's no fixed duration either.

Shifting and genetics | did I shifted?
The script of my next video (I haven't uploaded it yet)
Warning
Beliefs that can go against this (however, I invite you to read it, no belief is directly discredited or mentioned):
"Shifting has no rules"
"You have all the power over shifting and there's nothing conditioning anything"
"shifting is only intention"
"The body and consciousness are not related, and the body does not affect shifting."
Small previous description:
I'm going to address a less important topic about whether I'm shifting, and the main one (perhaps a little more dense) is about whether the body can affect, alter, hinder or facilitate our shifting process. Something that makes it more than purely will or mental, of course. I'm talking about specific genes, neurodivergences, the functioning of serotonin or serotonin inhibitors, and how all this shows that the body and DNA affect shifting and shifting goes further than a simple intention.
Presentation
Welcome back to ShiftCuriosity!
In this video (and I’d ask that if you’re going to comment against it, you watch it in full first), I’m going to address the most liked or controversial comments from my last video —whose script is not yet uploaded to tumblr—, presenting my perspective despite the arguments (about shifting, genetics, and whether I have shifted) and offering evidence —which I will link to on Tumblr later—.
I want people to understand that I’m not trying to impose my point of view on anyone but rather to understand shifting so that it can be made easier for all of us. My videos are not attacks or emotional attempts at anything—they are meant to share coherent information that is, yes, usually well-argued and well-defined. That’s why I don’t filter comments unless they are direct attacks on someone—because if I’m here to inform, I want to do it right, and discrediting perspectives without prior debate doesn’t contribute to that.
When I said in my last video that everyone has freedom of speech in the comments, I meant it so that opinions could be shared with respect—not as an excuse for attacks or censorship against anyone for having an opinion on something as subjective as shifting.
Whoever you are, I want you to know that your freedom of speech is yours. You don’t have to stay silent out of fear that people will jump on you for having an opinion. At least, not on my account, whose goal is to find answers that make the process easier and avoid the issues that happened in 2020.
And remember, you don’t have to believe in shifting to watch this video—you can take it as fantasy or just curiosity.
[minutes]
Did I shifted?
The first question, or the reason why—Not much, because most of it was support—I've been discredited, is that I haven’t shifted. And this is true, I have no intention of denying it or hiding it. If you follow me, it's fair that you do so knowing all the information and under your own critical system. But shifting doesn’t imply knowing the internal processes of shifting. Just like walking doesn’t imply knowing which muscles you’re moving, how many you have, or how protein is metabolized. I’m sure many shifters who have succeeded can confirm that doing it doesn’t give you complete knowledge of the cause, especially considering the subjective experience of each person. It should be known that experience does not give you knowledge of the cause unless the experience is directly of the cause, and not of the reaction of the cause (shifting is the reaction of a cause, that is, an internal process, which indicates that your experience does not give you knowledge of the cause, only of the reaction).
I will never talk about something I don't know, I won’t say that when you shift you will “feel” X or Y, because I don’t know, but I can learn, research, and understand the internal process (the unseen, how it works). Something that isn’t consciously experienced at first.
That’s why I haven’t made a video about symptoms yet—though I’ve thought about it—I plan to do so when I have enough visibility to conduct surveys.
However, I’ve been studying shifting for a long time and contemplating it. My hypotheses and beliefs, despite being only that, aren’t without foundation. And I’m not closed off to them; I’m open to counterarguments or the possibility that they’re incorrect—I don’t feel any attachment that limits me. That’s why I believe my account is a contribution, because if there’s one thing you can trust, it’s that I don’t say anything lightly, I’ll admit any mistakes, I won’t prevent you from speaking or silence you, I’ll always seek the truth, and you can debate with me.
Shifting and genetics
The basic explanation is in my previous video, stating that the body and mind are undeniably connected and that the body is (also undeniably) in contact with and built according to the blueprint provided by DNA. But today, we’re going a bit further.
First, I’ll talk about the connection between consciousness, the mind, and the body. Then, I’ll discuss the relationship between DNA and how the brain functions, including how the way the brain works—or DNA itself—might interfere with shifting. And yes, I’ll include links to studies in the description.
You should know that shifting would be an innate and unchangeable ability of consciousness. The influence of DNA on shifting doesn’t affect whether it’s possible—it only alters your process.
Consciousness, body and mind
The mind is composed of thoughts, emotions, sensations, our identity, and, in general, everything that the observer (consciousness) is perceiving.
Drugs affect brain chemistry—starting with something physical—and influence the state of consciousness you are in, which already establishes a direct and inevitable relationship between the body, the mind, and then consciousness.
To this, we add antidepressants, some of which work by blocking serotonin reuptake in neurons. This means that when a neuronal connection occurs, before the neuron reabsorbs the serotonin, the reuptake is blocked, allowing serotonin to remain for a longer time and increasing its amount. This leads to an improvement in depressive states, among other effects—showing the connection between mind and body.
Additionally, this brings us to emotions and chemicals: serotonin is linked to happiness, dopamine to pleasure, noradrenaline to alertness, GABA to reducing neural activity… among others. Here, we see an even stronger connection between the body, the mind, and therefore, consciousness.
I don’t want to leave this unfinished, so I’ll continue. Stress and cortisol keep a person in a state of hypervigilance that prevents deep sleep, leading to interrupted sleep, lucid dreams, and sleep paralysis—states of consciousness directly related to shifting.
Then, we have situations like digestion, where blood accumulates and prioritizes that process, potentially causing drowsiness because it doesn’t reach the same blood flow to the brain—in other words, something that connects sleep and lack of mental energy with the body.
And finally, I include fatigue issues, which affect the brain’s complex cognitive processes by reducing them. This can often be summed up as: if you try to meditate while lacking energy, you’ll end up falling asleep instead of shifting. Consciousness observes, alters and is composed of what exists in the mind, and as we have seen, the mind is composed of physical chemical processes that occur in the body. And this is something we can experience even while drinking tea, coffee, alcohol, medications, and more.
Genes y el cerebro
This is a complex topic because it is not entirely biological; external variables can influence how your genes are expressed—or whether they are expressed at all. There are probability-based studies that associate certain genes with physical traits. That this happens is undeniable; the complexity lies in understanding it.
DNA is intricate enough that we talk about probabilities rather than absolute facts, but that doesn’t mean probability ceases to exist. If you and another person are in the same conditions, but you have a gene that (for whatever reason) worsens your stress management, then in a stressful situation, you are more likely to struggle with handling stress. And as I mentioned before, stress can lead to interrupted sleep, which can result in a state of consciousness—sleep paralysis, lucid dreams, etc.—directly related to shifting.
Something far more visible is neurodivergence. Not all, but many neurodivergences are influenced by genetics (it’s not uncommon for a parent to discover their child is autistic, has ADHD, or is gifted, only to realize they are as well). Neurodivergence specifically affects (among other things) how the brain processes information. Of course, it would be harder to focus on a method if you have ADHD! Or to relax during the process if you are highly aware of the texture of your clothing due to autism. Or to keep your mind calm if you are gifted—or even all of these at once.
Genes such as FOXP2, DUSP6, and SEMA6D are said to increase susceptibility to ADHD. DDX53 and CPEB are genes that might be linked to autism. They are not causes, of course—both neurodivergences are far more complex than just genetics—but this is yet another way to show that DNA, the body, and the mind all influence shifting.
For example, while no specific genes have been identified as direct causes of autism, research strongly suggests a genetic component. About 75% of the risk of developing ADHD is genetic; dyslexia is also genetic; Tourette’s syndrome is heritable (though heavily influenced by external factors), as are dyscalculia and giftedness.
There are genes that influence how we react to stress, our risk of developing PTSD, depression, and more.
Again, this is a complex topic with many variables at play. DNA is not a barrier, but it definitely has an influence—sometimes more, sometimes less. I’ll leave a link in the description to a kind of Wikipedia for genes and their possible influences.
Shifting and DNA
The fact that shifting has not been scientifically proven does not mean it is unrelated to things we do understand. If that were the case, no one would believe it to be more than mere fantasy. To make something real, we have to connect it to something that is already real—that is how most learning works when it is not based on simple assumptions (beyond memory).
Moreover, we know that shifting involves processes that have been studied, such as meditation and different states of consciousness. No, I cannot offer scientific proof of the existence of shifting, but I can provide scientific evidence of the elements that directly participate in shifting and have been studied.
As I mentioned before, DNA is intricately connected to the body and even more complexly to the brain, but that connection exists. The relationship between the body and the brain is undeniable. There is a certain relativity in how each person’s brain functions, which might make the body-mind connection seem less direct, but some aspects—such as brain chemistry—are objective.
It is your brain that carries the weight of emotions and memories, that does all the work. So yes, if your consciousness, mind, and state of awareness—like I explained in the first point—are connected to your brain and physical factors, then those physical factors will affect your process. And these physical factors are influenced (not solely caused, but heavily influenced) by your DNA or unchangeable traits.
Things like an irregular sleep schedule, insomnia, etc., can make it harder to meditate for shifting. After intense physical activation—whether from stress, adrenaline, anxiety, etc.—the body experiences a drop, leading to drowsiness, and once again, the same issue arises.
A mind trying to process too many things can reach a state of mental fatigue where the body needs to rest; and as mentioned, if the body needs rest, it will take it, no matter what we might prefer.
There are many other connections between the body and shifting, reinforcing the idea that physical and mental states are deeply intertwined in the process.
Conclusion
The body, DNA, and shifting are directly connected. They are not obstacles.
And this information is not meant to discourage you—it is an invitation to understand yourself better and create a personalized shifting routine. Yes, DNA (or rather, the body) can make the process more challenging, as can external factors, but it does not make it impossible.
By acknowledging this truth, it becomes much easier to design a shifting process that works best for your specific needs, rather than attempting to shift blindly.
Goodbye
I hope you enjoyed this video! I know it’s a bit denser than the previous one, but given the circumstances, I thought it was necessary to discuss this topic within the shifting community. Remember, my DMs are open for debates, questions, or emotional support if you're going through any issues.
In the link in my description, you’ll find a video proposal form, a drive folder with links to scientific documents, and a link to a folder where I’ll upload the scripts for my upcoming videos before releasing the actual video, giving you early access. Tumblr media
Welcome to my account.
In a brief introduction, I'll say that my content is usually in long videos, but since I want to share it further, I have decided to also share the scripts of my videos.
I am not looking for any controversy, or to emphasize any of the "misinformation", nor to impose my point of view on anyone, but rather to make use of my freedom of expression, my judgment, my internal logic, and my love of questioning things, to understand shifting more deeply and facilitate the processes. And yes, I'm informed, so you should know that if I say something contrary, it's because I've already deliberated it. And I don't use emotions to base my conclusions.
I would like you, before attacking me for any opinion that may be contrary to yours, to be open to a debate and know that my ideas are usually carefully thought out. In the same way that I invite everyone on my account to share their opinion of shifting without fear, because I consider that being a subject so little studied and susceptible to unstructured beliefs, flatly denying any statement without solid arguments is what is misinformation, not the content of the information itself as far as shifting is concerned.
My videos are on Youtube and TikTok, my approach to shifting is based on the multiverse, and I don't usually hide my belief (my friends and family know I'm a shifter). Usually when I meet someone new, I explain it to them by saying "We are constantly moving forward in time, and shifting claims that we can also move horizontally (without getting rid of the force that moves us forward) something more diagonal", which usually is better than "You can go to Hogwarts right now." (that information comes later). This improves their understanding because it makes them see the undeniable: that we are already traveling in time in some way, although, of course, shifting consists of many other variables and complexities.
Important
I want to be truthful, and to that end, you need to know that there are some things I don't agree with. I don't think shifting is "easy" nor do I think that "we change reality with every decision." I have reasons for this, and I think both statements are much more complex than they appear (especially considering that the "difficulty" of something depends on a large number of variables, and that "we change reality all the time" from a scientific perspective, is often misinterpreted) .
You might think this is misinformation, just my opinion, or both, but it's what I believe to be true after careful consideration. I think that, at least, makes it valid.
Beyond that
These are not the only topics I'm going to cover, and whenever I make a statement I'll explain it. And above all, I won't do so without a foundation; in many cases, there is usually scientific evidence that corroborates certain issues related to shifting (not shifting directly , sure) (such as meditation, altered states of consciousness, mind and body, quantum physics...). No one is obliged to believe my words because they are not attacks, I will never claim to have the whole truth, but whenever my opinion can be considered, even if it is to strengthen a contrary opinion through seeing more possibilities, I am happy.
