     He’s not close to Shinka. Which is unsurprising. But despite this, he considers her just as much a friend as he considers anyone else. (which is a lot of people, honestly, making the thought fall just short of a compliment) He notices more about her than she probably realizes — the way she’ll beat herself up needlessly over little things. He simply chalks it up to some sort of natural intuitiveness; a trait he’s garnered over years of having it forced upon him. When he pays attention, he can see. And though he might not understand the whys, he feels he understands just enough without having to pry. Something he’d never dream of doing (on purpose) without permission, lest she pull away more. If possible. So when he runs into his elder in the hallway, he smiles and without much warning gives a firm pat on the back. A friendly, what he hopes to be comforting, gesture.

13. a kitten

   It is not unusual in any way for Seto to grow absurdly attached to the strays that may wander around the academy grounds. It isn’t right for him to keep any of them, of course, as much as he would like to. At best he might bring them in for a night or two (when he can avoid watchful eyes) until they’re fed and happy and ready to be released again. But this kitten, small and alone, desperately needs a home and try as he might, he can’t get a single soul to take her. He walks around with the small thing in tow all day, until he runs into a familiar face and the tiny animal begins to brush up against Miss Loki’s legs. 

   ”Looks like she likes you… You can take her home if you want, sensei!” With his best puppy dog eyes. He’s not too proud to beg, if it’ll come to that.

But it doesn’t matter, really. He beams down at her. "It’s okay." Ruffles her hair and pulls her in for a little side-hug. "Don’t worry about ‘em." He knows very well how nervous she can get around people, but he’s here. And as long as he’s here she’ll never have to be afraid.
