jaiden animation video about chiikawa did make me read all of the chiikawa manga and if your only frame of reference are the plushies of the mascots i really can't overstate how shocking it is to find out that those little guys basically live in hell. like yeah slice of life and friendship and good food and hobbies and cute outfits but also demons and monsters and cursed objects EVERYWHERE. cute moe blob animal guys getting kidnapped by evil birds four times their size or getting arrested by goblins or getting tricked into almost erasing each other out of existence with a magic camera. they just live like that.
