Garden update: The bean plants are THRIVING. One strawberry bush has produced it's first normal-sized, perfectly juicy berry after producing some mini pea-sized berries. The other has yet to flower. My watermelons keep trying to shuffle off the mortal coil. My peppers...some are thriving, some are just barely still here. What I thought was a giant weed was actually a cherry tomato plant that just SHOT up while I wasn't looking, yaaaaay.

One grape vine is small but healthy. The biggest one seems...okayish? Some spotting, but no crinkly or dry leaves. The other I did an emergency relocation on and hopefully the extra sunlight saves his ass. Thinned out the radishes, carrots, and leeks today, gave the scraps to the ancient old goat.

Cucumbers and pickles...are still tiny, but alive, at least. Hopefully my tomato seedlings start to grow a bit more before I move them outside. I added more light and a tiny fan to help them grow stronger. I have so many tomato and tomatillo varieties, it's nuts. If even a fourth of them live and bear fruit, I'm gonna be drowning in yummy salsa.

My edamame and gochujang seedlings have very few survivors. Hell, I'm convinced the edamame have formed a group suicide pact, these should be easy to grow, but they barely break the surface then die. I have one freak that still lives.

Oh yeah, another major update that I forgot to put over here.

I'm back on my aunt's farm, but they're out in Florida since her health problems really are made worse by the altitude here. I'm living in what is technically a trailer...but it's a damn nice RV trailer, waaaaaaay better than the shitty room I rented for years.

Anyway, I'm here for probably another year, year and a half tops? Auntie is getting older and wants to sell the property, hopefully next year, get rid of a major mortgage and source of bills. At that time, I'm going to move out to Florida to be closer. She's getting older, and I trust her husband to look out for her...but I just miss being close to family. They haven't really been in town much since the beginning of the pandemic. I'll either be staying in this same trailer, just on their property, or they're going to help me get my own place, we'll see.

As for what I'll do job wise when I get out there? Who knows? Maybe I'll take a year off of service/retail and just like...go wrassle snakes and shit for money, idgaf. There's apparently a lot of caregiving jobs and such, but I don't know if I've got that in me. Maybe, if my fitness continues to improve, I should get an EMT certification? Maybe learn some Spanish? Farm fish? WHO KNOWS

I still got a lot more weight to lose and am definitely doughy and chubby, but I can tell I'm getting stronger because after a little rest, I was ready to go out and do just a little more work in the garden and planted a yam and broke up the soil. Not just one, but two intense physical tasks...after a day of work!
