Plenty of biases (which I'll probably get to later), but Han Jisung ans Min Yoongi owns my heart (aka they're my ults), while Seventeen is my most recent obsession.

Hwang Hyunjin is a heaven-sent gift, you think.

This is the conclusion the last three days and two nights have brought you to, quite naturally.

Hyunjin is calm, patient, kind beyond all sense. He’s available, but never overbearing, seeming to possess some form of instinctual sixth sense in relation to the way you’re feeling at any one time. Couple all that with the very obvious—and somewhat devastating—physical appeal, you find yourself wondering what about him could possibly be wrong, for if any such flaw exists, it seems to elude you.

Indeed, you find it tragically unfair that he should be so perfect.

If nothing else, and at the very least, you suppose the time spent with him has confirmed beyond any doubt that he’s not actually a figment of your wistful imagination. He’s a very real, very present man in his own right.

Bundled up on the sofa, blanket over your lap and plush cushions at your back, you find more enjoyment in quietly admiring his stark side profile than in the film he’s chosen, playing out on the flat screen in his living room.

You’re unsure how much time must pass for something to be considered routine, but the recurring pattern of school, study, chilling and repeating certainly hasn’t been unwelcome.

You know well enough that’s only because of him.

When he’s around, peace comes effortlessly. It’s no burdensome task to surface from the whirlpool of anxious, intrusive thoughts that creep in whenever you give the reality of your circumstances the time of day:

You’re too close to home, they’ll see you. You’ll have to go back eventually. You can’t stay with him forever. You’re a burden. He just feels sorry for you. Your friends hate you for this. You have to text them back. You can’t keep avoiding them. You miss them. You’re a terrible person. They were just trying to help.

When alone, the cacophony drowns you, creeps up from the depths of your content and brings with it a momentary wave of ice that stills your heart with dread, brings you to a cool sweat. Breaths come lacking, too pitifully shallow to allow a calming lungful of oxygen, and with that, comes the inevitable panic.

Always, it’s Hyunjin that brings you back. A simple touch, an embrace, a tender skim of lips over forehead all that’s needed to return you to the moment, where you’re safe. Where you’re okay.

Still, you know this can’t continue for much longer; you’re not naïve to that fact. But for now, perhaps it’s not so foolish to enjoy it.

“You’re not watching this, are you?”

Hyunjin’s muttered question brings a dose of reality, but doesn’t startle. It’s gentle, soft, much like everything else about him.

“I went to all the trouble of picking out a film just for you,” he mumbles, “and you’re not even watching it.”

You smile absently, shrugging in your slumped position at his side. Amongst cardboard boxes and packing apparatus, the sofa comfortable beneath you, it’s a unique kind of contentment you’re used to now. One that doesn’t revolve around isolation or trust in yourself, but that shares in the warmth of another.

Your head falls back to the cushions, “I was watching. Just got distracted.”

“Oh? By what?”
