You know things are really messed up when one of the most outspoken LGBTQ+ ally bands (Carson Coma) has to explain that they appreciate the Pride flag a fan threw onto the stage, but they can't openly show it because they’re afraid of getting fined, or the venue getting penalized.
(They ended up putting the flag on the microphone stand for the last number, which was a pro-LGBTQ+ song called Pók.)
This happened in Hungary. The current government (FIDESZ lead by Orbán) has banned Pride events, claiming that they “corrupt” children (hence the so-called “child protection law”). Now, they’re also trying to shut down independent media.
If you attend Pride, you can be fined up to €497 — which might not sound like much, but considering the average Hungarian salary, it's a significant amount.
Don't judge or hate Hungarians. Most of us don't agree with the current government! We're really hopeful that next year one of the other parties will win, and after 15 years, we'll finally get a new government.
And just to lighten the mood, I'll add a song by the band I mentioned. They have songs criticizing the government, but this is the only one I found in English. And also I added the pro-LGBTQ+ song as well (which is in Hungarian, but I also added the English translation)

70s UNIT was already a paramilitary organization, sure. but they were using their government funding to stop the blorgons from eating people with, like, twenty dudes, one rocket launcher, and whatever they could get from the local hardware supply with that months budget. modern UNIT might as well be a tech startup that calls its employees "family members" and then buys them all beanbag chairs instead of a raise in comparison. yeah on the top floor theyre having pizza parties and shit. but do we ever hear from the theoretical physicists 50 floors down using taxpayers money to reinvent the fuckin Time Destructor of Rassilon or whatever other wildly unethical bullshit will save the day this week? no. you know those guys are under strict surveillance too. cant have them selling blueprints for our unmonitored rooftop death ray to the russians can we.

odysseus absolutely does present a threat to penelope if he perceives her as at all unfaithful, and i feel the unfairness of this, and i think people tend to undersell how much tension at least potentially exists between odysseus and penelope. but i'm also like. his reaction, all speculation aside, his actual reaction in the odyssey to her flirting with the suitors is delight, because he immediately ascertains that she is running a con. sorry that they're so in-sync in spite of the forces that try to drive a wedge between them, including their own misgiving hearts. sorry that they invented homophrosyne ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

"So what you're saying is that there weren't any 'time ladies' before YOU, a red pilled alpha like myself, invented time travel. When would you say women started to forget their place in Gallifreyan society?"
