shen ricky — solace.

one. rainy day

life of a high schooler revolves around one main thing; getting good grades. but should it be someone's whole world? the answer should be no.

teenagers should be allowed to have some type of fun in their life without constantly being nagged at by their parents about grades.

but for shen quanrui, it seemed like his parents were too much of workaholics to care about anything besides his grades. he did genuinely try his best, but it just seemed like his best was never good enough.

every test was the same outcome; they would always tell him to do better on the next exam even if he had already gotten the highest mark out of the class.

that's how he ended up in this situation. after studying in the library for who knows how long, the sun had disappeared and the rainy clouds covered the sky.

he stood there, not knowing what to do next. his parents were out of town and probably wouldn't do anything even if they were home and his only friends were probably busy tending to their own lives and families.

as ricky stood there, not knowing what to do next, he heard a faint voice behind him that started to get louder as the person got closer to him.

"shen quanrui!" the voice yelled out, causing ricky to whip his head in the direction of their voice, it was y/n l/n.

"what are you doing here this late?" y/n asked, standing besides the boy while looking at the pouring rain.

"i was studying," ricky answered simply, putting space between the two as they had never really spoken before.

"and you didn't bother to bring an umbrella?" y/n remarked, seeing that he was empty handed.

"i didn't check the weather," he admitted, lowering his head like he was being scolded.

y/n let out a small laugh at his antics, opening her backpack to rummage for something. "here," she stretched her arm out with an umbrella.

"what about you?" ricky lifted his hesd up to face y/n, hesitant of taking her umbrella.

"it's fine, i have to stop by the convenience store anyways," y/n assured, grabbing his hand to take ahold of the umbrella, "get home safely, ricky."

there was something in that moment, something that made ricky's face suddenly heat up. his palms started sweating at the sudden contact, seeing the expression of genuine care on y/n's face. no way, did he like her?

he watched as y/n took her backpack off her back and placed it over her head, waving at the boy for a moment before starting to run down the steps of the school.

once y/n had disappeared into the rain when she turned a corner, he felt a smile light up on his face at her sudden gesture as looking down at the umbrella she had gifted him.

strawberry soju

₊˚⊹ warning(s): drinking | inspo: jesse barrera, albert posis, michael carreon - strawberry soju

while ricky loves everything strawberry and strawberry-flavored, he can't seem to bring himself into liking strawberry-flavored alcohol.

the first time he tried strawberry soju, his nose scrunched at the bitter yet sweet taste. drinking was never ricky’s thing, though it was his friend's birthday, so he can't be too much of a killjoy. but to his dismay, they kept pouring more shots.

and when he came home to you, his cheeks puffy and flushed and words slightly slurred, all he wanted was to be in your arms. "you’re drunk," you laugh at his disheveled state, thanking his friend for dropping him off before closing the door to tend to ricky.

"and i was missing you the whole time," ricky responds as you help him freshen up. you smile, "but you had fun, right?"

ricky shakes his head, his hair getting messier, "of course not. i didn't wanna drink in the first place. i just wanted to get his party over with." he complains. you chuckle once more at his protests.

you pat him on the back, "you go to bed. i’ll prepare everything if ever you get a bad hangover tomorrow." to which ricky slightly mumbles, "i can handle it anyway," before walking off to your bedroom. you laugh once more at his behavior, watching him slowly disappear into your room and eventually hearing a muffled thud.

lying in bed, ricky craves your touch not even five minutes in, his face lighting up when he sees you entering. "i’ve missed you," he tells you, which you grin in response.

"i was only gone for a while?"

"still."

you get in bed, "fine, fine. whatever you say." you jokingly hold up your arms in defeat. ricky hums amusingly, hooking his arms around you immediately. the faint smell of vanilla still lingers on your clothes even hours after he hugged you goodbye to go to his friend's party.

as he watches you scrolling on your phone, the light radiating almost blinding (in your defense, it was at its lowest setting, dark mode too), he nestles his face in the crook of your neck to try and shield from it.

"you’ve been really cuddly tonight. did you drink that much?" you ask, putting your phone down. "they kept pouring more. i couldn't say no." he says, voice slowly getting softer the longer he talks.

ricky mentally curses his intoxication, not caused by the amount of soju he drank, but because he was drunk on you; the way your voice always softens at this time, the way your arms hold him at just the perfect amount, the way it's just you.

and when he slowly trails small pecks from your neck and finally a kiss on your lips, the taste of alcohol still present, you suppose you can take a shot as well.

and he didn’t notice it wasn’t his sweater

like ‘hey, that’s a cool sweater!’

but then he realises that you’re wearing hanbin’s clothes

‘wait a minute… i’ve seen that before..’

has a moment of confusion; whether to be jealous of hanbin or jealous of you 😦

in the end he just doesn’t care that much

“i forgot to return this to jiwoong.” he responded with a sheepish smile

“it was comfortable though..”

ricky immediately brings out his phone to buy you the same exact hoodie

as any cliché moment goes, gunwook wanted to wrap his jacket around you

after explaining why you were wearing it in the first place

you grab a part of the hoodie with a confused look “taerae..? i thought it was yours.. it’s comfy though.”

gyuvin’s eyes widen “wait, i have better hoodies.”

frantically starts throwing out all his hoodies from his closet onto the bed

forces you to change into his hoodie while repeating that he isn’t jealous

jiwoong immediately starts rambling how you looked very nice in the sweater

used his oldest card 😭

and convinced ricky into just giving it to you

and all those clothes are not his but the other member’s

so even if you did wear another member’s clothing, he simply wouldn’t care cause technically it’s HIS clothing now

hao barges into yujin’s room where you both were playing games 💥

“yujin, have you done your homework yet?” he asks, looking at the shirt you were wearing

hao knits his eyebrows together “isn’t that my shirt?”

although yujin tried to lie about ever stealing it, hao already knew his record of taking the member’s clothes

“i was looking for this everywhere! since when did you take this?” he crossed his arms, about to scold yujin again

SOPH — tysm for the two anons that requested this! sorry for the delay, i was trying to do a bunch of reqs at once but got carried away due to some school work </3 (yes i have summer hw im suffering). hope you enjoy these though!

— he seems the type to play it cool in a relationship but is actually a MESS. like what should he do? should he be flirting with you? should you guys be doing anything? besides that cool face, this mind is racking ideas of what he should do and what’s best for the relationship. anything for you!!

— i don’t think ricky could ever get mad at you. like maybe jokingly mad or being frustrated but that’s all. i don’t think he really likes conflict and tries fixing it. thing is, he may give silent treatment just so he could talk to myself on how to solve an argument between you two.

— now, ricky may forget a lot of things, but he never forgets anything about you! anyone can ask something about you, and he’s like a walking google about you. ik he whips his head if he hears your name come out of any of the member’s mouth. they can call him a simp for all he cares — he knows it’s true anyways.

— “you know ricky, you don’t know a lot of stuff of me compared to your partner.” “gyuvin yeah, cause you’re not yn.” “i get that but come on, how could you forget my favorite food?” “oh sorry, i forgot.” “ricky i’ll beat you up—” “yn!!!”

— he would get excited over little gifts you give him. he’s used to being the gift giver, so seeing you get him something just seems ten time more valuable than those luxury brands. probably shows it off to the others. “bet you don’t have this,” LMFAO hes so silly

— the type to send pics of himself or sweet msgs to you when he misses you. and he js plays it off with “i bet you miss me so here you go.” in reality, he just misses you and just wants to hear sweet things from you :( <3

— boy he LOVES strawberries. so he probably buys you strawberry items so that you can be reminded of him. let’s say his obsession can get out of hand, but who doesn’t love cute strawberry items???

— i feel like he would prefer a more private relationship?? but that doesn’t work out since he acts SOOO different around you. so when he announces that you two are dating, the others aren’t surprised whatsoever.

— pretty clueless so would ask you for help because it’s “you two getting along” he says. he would find any excuse to be with you at all times and just wouldn’t mind acting a little clueless.

— if there’s any language barriers, i feel like he’d try his best to communicate with you as best as he can. sure, he wants to give up at some times, but he remembers you, the main cause of his motivation. so he’d study really hard for you :)

— ricky isn’t always as open with his thoughts as he think he is. sometimes, he may isolate himself, just because there’s a lot on his mind. so that’s when you step in! give him comfort and offer to listen bc that’s all what he needs!

— secretly likes physical touch but won’t flat out admit it. he wouldn’t pretend he hates it either, he just lets it happen. secretly smiles when you suddenly become clingy around him. he likes you initiating it first because he doesn’t want to be annoying or a bother to you when he needs affection </3

— the longer you’re in a relationship with him, the more comfortable he is with you. and that’s a good thing! but he still gets flustered over small acts you do for him.

Actually he wasn't planning on going at all to prom lol

But hearing his friends say that they were afterwards going to see his favourite band in concert he changed his mind

He didn't need to go tho in order to attend the concert but somehow gyuvin convinced him 💀

However, he needed a partner (totally not forced by gyuvin as well)

So he decided to ask thr first person that entered the classroom

You so coincidentally appeared right by the door

So with all the courage he had in him he approached you slowly

Now why are we talking about courage now?

Well, he knew you were one of the few people that wasn't affected by anyone's rizz

Literally the most indifferent person on the room

So when you accepted to his request with a smile he was pleasantly surprised by it

You were not interested in him per se but you found him really attractive and hot and wouldn't miss the chance to go with him

(Okay maybe you did have a crush on him)

You knew he wasn't interested in you but It wouldn't hurt to just enjoy yourself for a little bit

He picked you up and let's just say you left him standing there blushing furiously 😳

You weren't one to be that influenced, but you were short on money that month, so you accepted

You guys picked the park near the place the event would be held as a meeting point because he didn't want to make it that serious

When you tapped his shoulder to make your presence known he had to stop for a while because his mouth was open wide

he should have warned you about a lot of things : like the fact that he was going to change overnight, without letting you see an ounce of the old ricky. shaking your head as you watched your hands nervously fidget with the edge of the blanket covering you, you couldn't ignore your heart which squeezed painfully in your chest.

« you should have warned me you were going to become someone else. » your voice, usually so shy, was now brimming with a certain assurance that didn't shock the boy beside you. he knew he was in the wrong, and trying to defend himself wouldn't change the fact that you were absolutely right. he'd only wanted to show you his good side, to make sure you liked him at his best and didn't go away from him — but he realized that making you discover his bad habits later was clearly not his best idea. you were slipping through his net, and he didn't like that at all.

« i didn't mean for it to happen this way, » he says out of the blue, trying to get your attention, « i promise i'll fix the mess i've made. »

but you were skeptical : how were you supposed to put all your trust on his shoulders a second time, when he'd already destroyed what little you'd managed to build? you didn't want a relationship rocked by secrets, you just wanted an honest and healthy one.

but despite your desire to put the cubes back in place all alone, you wanted to give him a chance to help you do it.

so you let your head fall against his shoulder, this simple contact causing ricky to turn his gaze towards you, silently observing your face in search of some kind of answer. you now had his undivided attention, and that's what mattered most to you.

« don't be a stranger, okay? » you say softly. you couldn't see him, but you dared to imagine that a smile had formed on his lips at the very moment his arms slipped around you. your back was now practically glued to his torso, and you could feel his heart beating against your shoulder blade : it beat very quickly.

- okay first of all, as we all know, this man isn’t scared of anything so watching horror movies to him are a piece of cake, he would not flinch at all

- so when he’s with a s/o that doesn’t handle horror as good as him, he would find it adorable

- it’s a friday night and you’re comfortably laying on the couch of your boyfriend’s penthouse, warmly wrapped up in blankets and your head leaning against his broad chest

- ricky’s fingers pressed against the tv remote, flicking through different shows and movies, trying to find a movie for you two to watch

after compulsorily buying a meal for yourself so as to not leave the place empty handed, you slowly chew on your food, wondering where it went wrong

did he see a picture of you and decided that was it? did he hear a story about you that was just unflattering? what was it about you that made them turn around and away from the restaurant—away from you?

in the midst of all this, your phone emits a ding! sound. you’re not doing anything important, so you see it fit to check the notification

When you follow the voice (and the shadow), Ricky is standing next to your table, his phone in hand with the screen open on your text thread. He turns it off with a swift click of the power button, and he takes the space on the other side of the table where your date should have been.

You don’t know how to respond. You’re embarrassed; a second ago, you were alone at a restaurant filled with people, and now, your best friend has caught you lying to him about being at said restaurant alone.

“What happened?” Ricky asks as his arm makes its way across the table to your glass of water. He lifts it to his lips, taking a sip and placing it back down. He looks genuinely concerned, maybe even a little pissed, but all you can focus on is how your lipstick stain is on the rim of the cup, and how he drank from that same spot.

You shake your head. “I, um,” you pause, pursing your lips and trying to find a good enough (fake) reason. “Nothing. I didn’t like him, and he said he had other plans, so I just let him go.”

Ricky furrows his eyebrows at that. It’s a very visible sign of incredulity; he doesn’t believe your lie. Nevertheless, he simply shrugs it off. “He doesn’t know what he’s missing.”

“Thanks, I guess,” you reply, still dealing with the aftereffects of being stood up. You poke your fork at the food before you; a lost appetite and an expensive meal don’t mix well.

Ricky leans forward, letting his forearms rest on the surface of the table. He’s looking at you so seriously, analyzing your every move. “Why are you looking at me like that?” you ask, attempting to come off as teasing, but he only waves you off. “I just want to look at you.”

You feel yourself practically melt under his gaze, but you ignore it. This is Ricky, your best friend... nothing more. Right. This is Ricky—you should tell him the truth about why you’re alone.

“He didn’t come,” you admit. “I wasn’t super excited about this date, but I thought– I thought I would at least go on a date. This is... nothing. I was here by myself before you got here.”

There’s a pained glint in his eyes. Is he feeling sorry for you? Maybe you do deserve all the pity you’ve gotten today. He gulps, keeping eye contact with you while biting on a small portion of his bottom lip.

After a while, he sighs. “Come on.”

Ricky begins to stand up, stuffing his phone into his pocket before you hold him back by the wrist. “What?” you question.

from the moment his family moved in next to your house, with his bedroom parallel to yours

you could see everything through his window; who he was, what his hobbies were, what he admired, and how he acted with his friends

this all made him seem... unattainable. you felt like you were the audience for a show, and gyuvin was the actor

it didn’t help that you went to the same school, and to further that, he was immensely popular

it was obvious. how could you expect that someone like him wouldn’t be? he’s tall, cute, extroverted, funny and kind—the entire package, if you would say so yourself

you weren’t totally unpopular. you had your fair share of friends, a few social circles that you hung out with. but gyuvin seemed too out of reach for you, even if he was your neighbor

the singular interaction you’ve had was when he came over to ask for sugar. it went like this: “hi!” “hi?” “i was baking, and i kind of ran out of brown sugar. do you maybe... uh...” “oh, sugar? wait, i think i do, hold on.”

it was that awkward. so when your mother told you she became new friends with gyuvin’s mom and wanted to have dinner at their house as a family, you freaked

but it’s not like you can say no, so you found yourself at the kims’ door a few days later

“Hi! You must be [Name]. I’ve seen you around, and I’ve heard about you from Gyuvin, but you’re much prettier up close! I know who you get your looks from,” Mrs Kim says, winking at your mother.

“You’re too kind, your son is very polite, and...”

Your mom finishes it (whatever she was talking about) off with, “They’d be perfect together, don’t you think?” Mrs Kim nods vigorously, then pats you twice on the shoulder. “[Name], maybe you would want to go spend some time with Gyuvin first? I’m afraid dinner isn’t ready, there’s still a long way... I’ll call you both down when it is. He’s up in his room.”

You bow, excusing yourself and obligingly treading up the stairs. This is the second time you’re about to interact with him—you better not mess up.

On the final step of the staircase, you start to hear talking from one of the bedrooms. From where you stand, it’s not clear where its origin is, and so you try to listen for the voice. It leads you to a slightly open door, and holy shit—this is Gyuvin’s door.

“They’re coming over today, and, ugh, I don’t know,” he rants. Is that about you? It has to be. Who else is coming over? You move closer to the door frame, nearly peeking your head in. “I just– I don’t know how to talk to them! Last time, I went over to ask if they wanted to hang out and...” he trails off, the regret evident in his tone. “I asked for sugar. To bake.” Oh my god. This is about you.

You take another step, risking the possibility of the door creaking. “I don’t even bake! I came home with sugar and my mom asked why and I just said I found some on the street.” He sighs, exasperated. You inch even closer, toying with the chances of him catching you eavesdropping, when... creak. At the same time, Gyuvin’s rant is cut short. “Gunwook, you have to help me, I can’t be an idiot in front of them��”

His head snaps towards the door, where you are, standing and staring at him like a deer caught in headlights. He quickly hangs up, bidding Gunwook a hushed goodbye through the microphone. “How much of that did you hear?”

You swallow the lump in your throat, flattered and shy at the same time. “I think... all of it.”

Gyuvin’s hand raises to cup his nape, and he gives you the most endearing yet bashful smile. “Would you, maybe, um, wanna hang out sometime? With me, of course...”

although you met a little over a year ago, he quickly became a constant in your life, especially because you saw him everyday at school

he would wait outside your class, eat lunch with you, walk you home (and sometimes to school in the mornings), help you with homework even though he’s always busy with all the extracurriculars he participates in, and additionally schedules weekly study sessions together

this led countless people to think you were dating, even though you’re really not

you deny it, making a gesture with your hands indicating the negative. “we’re just friends, he would never be my boyfriend,” you laugh it off. gunwook tenses up, and the corners of his lips suddenly become downturned. “yeah, we’re just friends...” he agrees, sounding somewhat unsure

that’s what happens every single time someone mistakes you for a couple. you’re the first to refuse that assumption, while gunwook just follows your lead

you thought, “hey, maybe he’s just shy around the topic of dating.” and so you don’t push it, or even ask about what he thinks of the rumors surrounding you two

at this week’s study session, which he scheduled at his house, he can’t focus

repeatedly tapping his pen and running his fingers through his hair—doing anything but his homework, really—he doesn’t even spare you a glance

and so you take the responsibility upon yourself to ask. “is something bothering you?”

Gunwook sighs, looking as if he’s internally debating the pros and cons of unloading his baggage onto you. His eyes dart around his room, from the door, to the desk, to the bed, and finally to you, before he swipes his tongue between his lips and lets out a breath. “Can I ask you something?”

You drop your pen. Why does he seem so conflicted?

Readjusting your position on the bed to face him, you lean closer to Gunwook as you shove your school books and other materials out of the way. “You can ask me anything,” you say, determined to comfort your friend.

He visibly hesitates, biting his bottom lip. He’s still not looking at you, and not so much as a second is allotted for one glimpse. “Do you...” he pauses, trying to muster the courage. “Do you really think of me as just a friend?”

The question almost makes your jaw drop to the floor. What does he mean by that? Sure, you did have a short-lived crush on him when you first got acquainted, but it faded instantaneously. You didn’t know you could be anything more—you thought you had no chance with a guy like him, so your feelings were trivial to you.

Tilting your head, you reply, “I’m not sure what you mean.”

Gunwook shrugs, also following your actions and pushing all his textbooks away. “I guess– oh my god, this sounds stupid, but,” he groans, “I’ve liked you since last year, since before we even became friends. And whenever someone asks if I’m your boyfriend, you just– you immediately say no.”

He... likes you? You’re dumbfounded, eyes wide and mouth actually agape this time. You’re certain your cheeks are red, judging from the heat you feel rush up to your face.

At your silence, he continues. “I know it’s stupid. I didn’t just become friends with you because I like you, it’s more than that, but everytime you say I could never be your boyfriend or something like that, I hate it.

you didn’t know when you started liking yujin, you just did

maybe it was when you would watch him play soccer after school, with him alone on the field practicing and you doing your homework on the bleachers

or maybe it was when he bought you a drink that one time. you were thirsty after running to school because you were on the verge of getting an offense on your permanent record if you were late one more time

clicking a few buttons on the vending machine, the solace provided by strawberry milk was nearly yours—until you open your wallet to find that there’s only a thousand won inside

“maybe next time,” you think, “i don’t need to drink anything right now.”

but before you can leave, someone sneaks their two thousand into the slot for you, and the milk drops down into the small metal box below for you to claim

when you turn around, you’re met with yujin

and then a switch flipped. since then, you’ve noticed han yujin wherever you went

you stumbled onto the soccer field on a hot day when you were assigned cleaning duty, and you found that he was the only one there

deciding to repay the favor, after spectating him practicing for a while, you go to buy a drink for him too when you buy your own

you leave it next to his bag with a note, saying: “you’re really good! i bought this for you, make sure to get some rest ♡”

and so watching him practice while doing your homework became a regular occurrence for you, even if you weren’t 100% watching all the time. it was like background music, and your interest in him (caused by him buying you milk) became a full blown crush

Following the steps of your daily routine, you hurriedly arrange your books in your backpack, ready to go see Yujin—the best part of your day—when your teacher stops you at the door.

“[Name], I’d like to talk to you about tutoring someone,” she says, a soft smile plastered on her face as if she wasn’t actively ruining your day. “You’re one of my best students, and one of your classmates really needs help.”

As hard as you tried to get away, you got stuck in the classroom for the rest of the afternoon, discussing possible tutoring times and the topic outlines where your “classmate” needed further explanation. Not only were you annoyed you missed some time to see Yujin, but when you got to the field, hoping he would still be practicing late into the night, he was gone.

Although you were displeased at the thought of having to tutor your male classmate every day of the school week, you had no choice. In addition, he was at least paying you, so it wasn’t like your hard work was for nothing—just that now, you would have to sacrifice your time with the boy you like.

You started to tutor him after school, and going to see Yujin became a rare possibility. Your tutoring was yielding good results, however, and your tutee received high marks on almost all tests after being taken under your wing.

He runs up to you, showing you his paper with a big red ninety-eight in the corner; he got an even higher grade than you did. “[Name]! Thank you, look at this! I’ve never gotten a grade this high!” You nod, but everything he’s saying is going in one ear and out the other. Since he technically doesn’t need your help anymore, maybe you could go watch Yujin today.

You cancel your session for the day, with permission from your advising teacher. After two and a half weeks, you’re finally back at the field—but this time, he’s the one who isn’t here. You let out a deep breath, deciding to power through and do your homework like normal.

You’re in the middle of trigonometry when a cool sensation is pressed up against your cheek, water beginning to drip down your skin. Flicking your head towards the perpetrator, you discover it to be Yujin holding a strawberry milk for you. He giggles, handing you the small box and sitting down beside you. “Here. I haven’t, um, seen you in a while. Why’s that?”

You take it from him, detaching the straw from the back of the box and poking it through the designated hole. “Yeah,” you say, sipping on the milk for a few seconds after. “I started to tutor Jiwon, so I couldn’t come the last few weeks.”

- early in the morning, zhanghao would always be the first one to wake up

- since you were a deep sleeper, you would literally still lay like a dead fish even if zhanghao rocked up with his loud vocals

- zhanghao was scared of nudging you because it would hurt, so he resorted to planting a million kisses scattered all over your face

his warm, rose-tinted lips started to kiss you from your forehead to your nose, cheeks and lucky last, your lips. the warmth and strange feeling made your eyes flutter open.

seeing you toss and turn from the ticklish sensation made zhanghao giggle softly.

zhanghao’s smile instantly made your cheeks red, filling you up with serotonin.

“goodmorning, did you have a good nights rest? wait here, i’ll go make you breakfast, sleepy head” 🎀

zhanghao gave you one last kiss before he scurried off to make you breakfast. little did he know, he left your heart racing, urging for more 💗

- being a light sleeper, it was easy for a birds chirp or a small snore to disrupt ricky’s sleep

- prior to meeting you, he actually had trouble waking up and was a sleepaholic

- in this case, your light snores caused ricky to jerk up from the bed. today was saturday, so he thought he would let you sleep in a little

- suddenly, he remembered that you two had a date planned today. ricky wanted to wake you up, but didn’t know how.

“princess, wake up”

- ricky tapped on your shoulder, but it was no use. you were completely blacked out due to being so tired, so absolutely NOTHING was gonna wake you up

ricky laid on top of you and started giving your bare face light kisses, embracing you. he traced his fingers around your nose and soft features, admiring your natural beauty.

“baby, wake up please”

- his soft-spoken voice wasn’t enough to wake your dreaming a$$ up

contemplating if he should do it, he realised that you were his girlfriend.

- he smashed his lips onto yours, making you jolt up in surprise. let’s just say, you gave him a huge beating after that for waking you up… even though 8 hours ago you asked him to so you wouldn’t be late to your date !

A/N: Happy ZB1 debut day!!! At this point I haven’t seen the comeback yet. This reaction is a call back to Say My Name era on Boys Planet in a unique way! 🫶

Zhang Hao

He saw you as the more distant person among his acquaintances and didn’t bother you as much because of it. He respects your space and if you’re not comfortable enough to talk to him, he’d rather not push you.

One day you found a really funny meme and decide to show him. “Zhang Hao, look at this!”

“Hm?” He’ll ask with raised eyebrows, his heart moved by your attention to him after all this time.

You hold your phone out to him, meeting him by his side to watch his reaction. You get the cutest giggle out of him.

“Oh, then I have something to show you too.” He adds before searching for a funny post he recently liked that he thought catered to your humor.

You two bond over your sense of humor and exchange phone numbers before his schedule whisks him away.

Sung Hanbin

You took one of his classes when you were on the lookout for a new hobby. You had such a good time even though tutting isn’t easy.

Swamped with work again, it takes you awhile to sign up for another one of his classes. In the midst of your busy schedule, you think you see him in a store you frequently go to.

“Sung Hanbin?” You ask carefully hoping you’re right and didn’t make a fool out of yourself.

He turns his attention away from a display and smiles politely. “Yes?”

That’s when it clicks. He probably has no idea who you are. A lot of students attended the tutting class.

“Ah, I’m Y/N. I took your tutting class at your studio. I guess I wanted to come say hi and thank you for leading such an engaging class. Dancing is my new hobby.” You ramble on but manage to say everything you meant to say.

He smiles and nods through your immense gratitude for him, his eyebrows furrowing at particular parts that he thinks praise him too highly. Our humble king. “Ah, you’re lovely. I remember watching you try to perfect every hand movement in the mirror. I’m glad I could provide you with a new hobby! Will I be seeing you in class again?”

“Of course!”

Seok Matthew

Matthew was the saint that was always there when you were having a hard time. He held the elevator for you who was sprinting to make it inside, offered you a ride home when it was pouring outside, listened to your advice and opinions on things when others weren’t, and called you his friend when you least expected that title.

The difference this time was that you were going to take him by surprise for a change. That’s what his kind gestures have led up to. While you were used to saying “thank you”, you never really addressed him by his name. It was nameless appreciation.

But when he takes some of the items you were clearly having a hard time juggling to hold in your arms…

“Thank you, Matthew.” Is what you say.

As if his dream came true, his face brightens up and he gifts you with one of his shy smiles.

“Haha no problem Y/N.” He responds lightly trying to keep calm though he’s screaming on the inside.

Ricky

An extremely handsome guy enters your cafe during work hours and he takes you ABACK with his aura. You’re suddenly so glad someone traded shifts with you. Your somehow unphased co-worker takes this man’s order before handing it off to you to make.

You feel his gaze on you for a moment—until it drops to his phone to check something on it. With his head down, you can hardly take your eyes off him as you prepare his order. Unfortunately you may never see him again, which is why you call his name with the utmost enthusiasm.

“Ricky?!”

He peers up at you and greets you with a cute smile before grabbing his order. “Thank you~”

Your eyes remain locked on each other a couple seconds too long for just a meaningless encounter.

“Y/N.” You point to your name tag assuming he wanted to know your name.

He hums and nods. “Y/N, thank you. Have a good day.”

Little did you know he would become a regular just for you <3

Park Gunwook

You had been window shopping today and came across a busking event as you walked around the city. Music along with someone’s talented rapping voice echoes down the street.

You approach the crowd to get a closer look. That’s when you catch a glimpse of a guy you frequently sat next to in school one year. You talked sometimes, but you weren’t really on a first name basis.

You decide to cheer along with the crowd, remembering his name as it used to appear on his school uniform. “Park Gunwook!”

The sudden unique cheer throws him off and he looks over in your general direction. You can tell he’s flustered in the face when he spots you but he keeps going until the end of his verse.

Once his performances are over, he rushes to come see you before you decide to leave. “Y/N!!”

You smile at each other and applaud him again for his charismatic performance. “By the way, did I scream a little too loud?”

He shakes his head all giggly, flashing you his big smile. “I remembered your voice, plus I don’t go by Park Gunwook when I rap.”

“Then what do you go by?”

“TopGunz.”

You can tell he’s not joking.

Kim Taerae

You went to a gathering that people you knew were going to be at. You really were not enthusiastic about going, but you were curious and felt guilty since you had a track record of skipping events like this.

To your surprise, you have a good time up until the host initiates a game of truth or dare.

Sitting in a circle that looks more like an oval, you’re eventually the next person to ask.

“Y/N, truth or dare?”

You scan the room but it’s no use. No one gives away what they’re thinking through their facial expressions. This was a 50/50 question.

“Um…dare.” You choose.

“I dare you to hold hands with someone for the rest of the night. Who will it be?” The host instigates with the help of an online list of dares.

“Kim Taerae.” You say in almost the same second that the question into the air to be ‘oooh’ed at.

The called-out young man perks up not expecting you to call his name one bit. “Me?” He can’t stop smiling as he gets up to be beside you.

When your fingers lace together, you notice his hand is warm, some callouses adding to the nature of his hand.

“You’re allowed to switch hands, but you can never let go of each other.”

You two would never let each other go. A lifelong dare meant to stand the test of time.

Kim Gyuvin

You were sitting on the bench at a bus stop when a familiar acquaintance sat on the other end of it. You end up locking eyes and you laugh in unison.

“Hello.”

“Hello~”

Minutes go by and without delay, the bus arrives. You two get up to board it and end up sitting in rows across from each other.

The ride is quiet besides the couples of people to the front of you and behind you having their own conversations.

The bus stops at some photoshoot place and the tall male gets up to leave the bus, accidentally leaving his jacket behind on the seat beside where he was.

“Gyuvin!”

He turns around in shock at the sound of your voice.

“You forgot your jacket.” You get up, scooping up his leather jacket and handing it over to him.

He gives you a sheepish grin and bows politely. “Thank you, Y/N. I’ll um see you again sometime?”

Kim Jiwoong

As a staff on the set of a drama, not only do you get to service the actors, but you also get to peek in at the production occasionally.

The scene being filmed today requires several touch-ups to the actors’ makeup, so you have a closer look at the acting on set.

You make sure to run up to Jiwoong, your assigned actor, to reapply makeup as requested by the director between takes.

He is nice and friendly to everyone apart of the project while his character unironically contrasts so much in front of the camera. His character is cold, confident, and assertive.

Still not completely out of the emotions of the character, he has a somewhat tense look on his face.

“Relax your face for me, Jiwoong. You’re doing great.” You sneak in a compliment being thoroughly amazed by his dedication to the drama.

He gifts you with a small smile before relaxing. “Thank you Y/N, I have to work hard because you work hard too.” He responds in a similar tone as his on-camera character, which makes you hot and flustered inside.

“Still in-character?”

“A little~” He whispers cooly and it takes everything in you not to bolt out of the set area.

“Wow, you’re crazy Mr. Jiwoong...” You tease as you finish up his makeup and take a step back.

He winks at you before taking his place and resuming filming again.

Han Yujin

There is an internet cafe that you frequent since it’s merely a 5-10 minute walk from your house. You’re embarrassed to admit it but almost everyday, you come over to the pc room to play an online game that’s had you hooked.

The game is popular enough that you can easily play with others local to you. While you may have thought that was cool at surface level, you never really gave it a second thought.

You grow fond of a few players and “friend” them on your gaming account. You all start coordinating times to play as a result.

One day, you sit down to meet your online friends in-game using a mic and headset as usual. When you are successful at a specific mission that had you and your friends stumped, you can hear loud cheering from next to you.

There is a small delay between what you hear in your headphones and what you’re hearing beside you. You could’ve sworn you heard your gamer tag being uttered from both, saying the same thing.

“Ohhh! Amazing! Wow, you totally carried us, (your gamer tag)!” Seems to echo in-game and in real life.

The outburst, or outbursts, take you off guard and you push your left headphone off your ear wondering if you were just hearing things.

“Guys guys, let’s go heal up! I took a lot of damage.” The guy beside you says grinning ear to ear, eyes glued to a screen running the same game as yours.

“Wait…Yujin?!?!” You say overwhelmed with shock and kind of excitement. You poke his shoulder repeatedly and of course you scare the life out of him—he’s screaming bloody murder over voice chat.

He soon recovers and it’s clear that you’re the only one who has put two and two together given his bewildered expression.

“I’m (your gamer tag)!” You clear up quickly before he thinks a crazy person suddenly spawned in real life.

His eyes go wide as he recognizes who you are from your computer screen. He then leans far back in his chair letting out a heavy sigh. “Wahhh! It’s really you?!”

You laugh along with the rest of your friends—who are absolutely dying of laughter listening in online—and nod at Yujin.

“Sorry for startling you, you startled me! Don’t worry, I’ll buy you a meal.” You say to Yujin while the others “ooooh” over voice chat.

✿ 𝚂. 𝙷𝚊𝚗𝚋𝚒𝚗 -

• Hanbin likes to make coffee for you and his members in the mornings.

• If you're not already with him in the dorms but he knows he will see you, he will make one in your own special to-go cup.

• You both have one and you decorated them yourselves.

• They're filled with cute stickers, doodles, and sweet nothings.

• When you are in the dorm you can count on being wrapped around Hanbin's waist as he drags you along whilst making coffee.

• If or when he makes food, you are his professional taste tester.

• If Hanbin is in the kitchen, chances are you will be too.

• Hanbin is obnoxiously a morning person.

• Like I mean this man is up and ready to go in 10 minutes whilst you and all of the other members are still waking up.

• And so if you get too sleepy Hanbin will sit you on the counter and come over to cuddle you whenever he gets the chance.

✿ 𝙺. 𝙹𝚒𝚠𝚘𝚘𝚗𝚐 -

• Being the oldest of the group, when everyone orders takeout, you and Jiwoong sometimes take responsibility of ordering food when Leader Hanbin isn't available or just to help him out.

• You basically tag-team it. One person finding out and writing down orders and the other ordering the food on the phone.

• Most of the time, it goes smoothly.

• Mother and Father moment.

• When everything has been ordered, you proudly smirk at eachother and share a smooth high-five.

• The 04s watch and commentate on it like a sport. When they know food is about to be ordered they gather, tell you their orders first and watch it go down.

• Gyuvin narrates what is happening and Ricky adds a comedic remark here and there.

• This also means you and Jiwoong find yourselves swatting them away when something doesn't go according to plan.

• Almost like a military operation. Theres a lot of hungry people waiting and a lot of food to order. It's of utmost importance!

J: "Okay, is that everything?"

Y: "I am 98% sure."

J: "We don't need 98% Y/n we need 100. Can you give me 100% certainty?"

Y: "Yes sir!"

G: "It looks like our players have a bit of a mixup on their hands. They're rechecking the orders. A recount! Will they make it in time?"

J: "Yah Gyuvin! Out!"

R: "Oooh and Gyuvin strikes out!"

Y: "You too Ricky!"

R+G: "Fine..."

J: "Wait... Should we ask again?"

Y: "Babe. I'm sure it's right."

✿ 𝚉. 𝙷𝚊𝚘 -

• Sometimes when you get to the ZB1 dorms, finding Hao is difficult.

• My guy tells no one where he is off to.

• Which is fair because if he wants privacy, it needs to be that way.

• However, chances are that when you can't find him, he will be somewhere playing his violin.

• His violin is a way for him to relieve stress.

• You are another.

• He instantly calms down when you are around.

• He says you help clear his head and help him get his thoughts straight.

• He thinks more rationally when you are around.

You walk up behind Hao. He is sat on a stool facing out of his window, his hands skillfully playing a chorus of notes on his violin. As you reach him you carefully place your hands on his shoulders and a gentle kiss on his cheek.

"Hi baby." You say lovingly, your hands moving further down his chest, leaning fully on him, as he lowers the instrument.

"Hello my love." He responds with a sweet smile.

He sighs in content as he holds your arms and closes his eyes, resting his head against your shoulder.

"Long day?"

"Mhm."

"Want to lay down and talk about it?"

"I think I'd rather just lay down with you."

"We could also do that."

✿ 𝚂. 𝙼𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚠 -

• You and Matthew are the couple that always have one show that you are watching together.

• Whether it be a soppy K-drama or a cringey YA series, you both are addicted.

• I'm not kidding, everytime you guys meet in one another's house, you have to watch at least one episode.

• You often shush and shoo away people who intrude, not wanting to miss important scenes.

• You also often disagree on situations in the show.

M: "I'm telling you, she's gonna end up with ___"

Y: "No! But ___ is so good for her! They'd be great together!"

M: "Yeah, I get that, but he likes ___ and so he's gonna get with her."

Y: "No, you're wrong, that's what the show wants you to think!"

H: "Hey, Matthew, have you seen my-"

M: "Shh! He's confessed!"

Y: "Wait it's a cliffhanger?!"

M: "Oh my god! How could they do that?!"

H: "Nevermind..."

✿ 𝙺. 𝚃𝚊𝚎𝚛𝚊𝚎 -

• Many times Taerae has tried to teach you how to play the guitar.

• But to no avail.

• Instead he offers to play an acoustic version of your favourite songs for you to sing along to.

• He provides excellent backing vocals.

• He sits on one end of your bed, watching you sing.

• He thinks you look beautiful whilst singing.

• When your eyes flutter shut, how you scrunch your face to reach the high notes. Your laugh when you forget the lyrics.

• He truly is your biggest fan.

• When you get tired of singing he will serenade you.

• Singing cheesy love songs to make you blush.

• Not only will he sing to you for fun. He will also sing you to sleep.

• You lay next to him, Taerae resting on his elbow looking down at you as he gently brushes hair out of your face. He quietly sings a slow song as you fall asleep.

✿ 𝚂. 𝚁𝚒𝚌𝚔𝚢 -

• You and Ricky love going out and exploring the city.

• Whether you go shopping, find a new café, or just walk around or take pictures, you both love it and have so much fun.

• As the night gets later the temperature gets colder, and eventually it is so cold that the two of you can see your breaths in the air.

• A lot of the time you get much colder than Ricky and he ends up giving you one of his jackets.

• You and Ricky usually decide to find a few street food stalls to walk around, both for the food and the warmth they would provide.

• If your hands get cold so he offers to feed you so you hold a heat pack or put your hands in your pockets.

• Ricky always gives you the last bite.

• You buying something you found interesting such as a new drink or a new food and giving him a sip/bite.

• Watching his face either light up as he smiles and nods, or as he scrunches his face because he doesn't like it.

• A lot of the time its the latter.

• He may love food, but he is picky.

• Video gaming with Vin.

• Loves to tease you.

• Tries to grab your controller when you're doing good in a game against him.

• If you're not against him he cheers for you very loudly.

• Most of the time he wins. Mans lives on his ps5.

• But there are a few that you are better at, and he hates it.

• You pretending not to know a game and them him whining when you actually end up being better than him at it.

• You sitting between his legs, his hands on your hands holding the controller as he teaches you the controls of a new game.

• Him getting excited for new game news/releases.

• Going to conventions together.

• Your halloween costumes are always video game characters.

• Y'all are geeks fr.

• But its cute. 🩷

• Likes to cuddle whilst you watch youtube in your first language.

• He is the little spoon during this time. Always.

• Falls asleep 90% of the time.

• If he does get a lil too sleepy and realises before he actually falls asleep he will turn around and bury his head in your chest, wrapping his arms around your waist.

• Often you will go to the boys' dorms to hang with Yujin.

• A lot of the time this is to play video games.

• One of Yujin's favourite things to do is to watch you play video games.

• He likes to sit you between his legs whilst he hugs you from behind and watches you play Animal Crossing on the switch.

• Snacks are also a necessity.

• He will feed you chips one at a time whilst you run around your island keeping everything in check.

• The members have often walked in on this and think you two are freaking adorable.

• But like actually it's something so adorable to witness.

• Sometimes Yujin will fall asleep on your shoulder and it's something that you just have to capture because omg this absolute sweetie. 😭🩷

• His head is on your shoulder, eyes closed, slight smile still on his lips, his arms wrapped securely around your waist.

• You would want to stay there forever if your legs werent going numb...

another touchy boy right here. won't hesitate to hug you death or squish your cheeks

loves to bully (tease) you! will act smug about his height everytime you ask him to get something that is out of your reach

he'll even tease you if you don't know a meme that he shows you

but the moment he sees you get sad he'll hug you tightly and pat your back mumbling sorry for like a million times!

he loves holding your hand and presses kisses on it just to hear your giggle

he'll end up teasing you again if he finds out you like cheesy things. BUT, mark my words he's gonna make a mental note of it and try something cheesy just for you

if he sees you eat messily he'll make disappointed noises. not even a minute later he'll use a tissue and wipe your mouth for you

he loves braiding your hair for no reason! although the braids might seem uneven and messy you love it!

hair dries your hair for you saying it's fun and later teasing you how you're such a softie.

while gunwook might seem like the type to goof around a lot I feel like he might often get into deep convos with you. he feels good to know that you enjoy these convos rather than finding them boring.

he shares all his true feelings with you and even takes few advices from you

every little gesture of his holds a deep meaning

even his poems are so meaningful

he writes on different topics but somehow ends up correlating all of them to you!

your deep convos are either when you go on night walks and sit in front of river under the moon or on voice calls.

his voice is very calm and soft when he speaks. his thoughts– they flow endlessly and you often wonder how many things does he have bottled up

yujin loves playing games whether it be online or in the parks

he loves being competitive and winning ALL the games

but the moment he sees you frown or get sad he'll purposely lose the game just to let you win and see that smug grin on your face

you both have a weird and a very platonic way of expressing feelings

you're sad? don't worry! yujin got the latest games on xbox just for you both to play all night long!

other than games you both help each other in homework which often ends up in a debate on who's answers are right

yujin might now physically show how much he cares for you but he will keep in mind your favorites, your problems, and he'll listen to you calmly

there's a problem at school? worry not! yujin has been taught by taerae to be confident in himself and stand up for others!

you both go to the same school so he has a habit of picking you up from your place and then the two of you cycle race to the school grounds

poor cycle gets abandoned anywhere
