I'm so happy that Oda let Robin fight Summers. I was somewhat worried after last chapter since she doesn't have haki, but Oda managed to find a way for Robin to successfully stall Summers enough to buy time for Scopper...

...who was able to cut off Summers arm and stop his regeneration!!!

I'm assuming this is an application of conquers haki, which would mean at this point Luffy, Zoro & potentially Loki are the only ones who can stop them regenerating. - We'll likely get Scopper teaching Luffy & Zoro how to apply this technique...I also hope Sanji is revealed to have Conquers this arc too.

And I do still want the other strawhats to have some type of haki befire the story ends - this chapter has proven that they don't all need to be experts in each type of Haki, since Robin wasn't useless against Summers. But It would be useful for each of the crew to specialise in at least one form of Haki. Usopp & Nami could excel with Obs (I know Usopp already showed this in Dressross, but it still seems like he's unaware he has it), Robin, Brook & Chopper could really benefit with Arnament. Jinbe already uses Obs & Arnament and if I'm being honest Franky is the only member who I think can hold his own in the late game without any Haki thanks to the powers of science!

I know a common argument against this is that Luffy has the grandfleet to deal with strong haki users in the late game --- Now, this might be a basic opinion, but I would prefer to see the main characters of a story defeat thier final opponents and not have side characters take the spotlight in the final battle. One of my main criticisms of Dressrossa is that in order to build up the Grand Fleet members as significant characters to care about, Oda had to sideline half the crew.

& considering all of the Tobi Roppo had haki, I would imagine all of Shanks & Blackbeards crew will use it too. If the Strawhats are supposed to beat either of those crews, they'll need more than 4 haki users. & as I said above, I think only Luffy, Zoro & Sanji should use all 3 types, with the others focusing on the type that would benefit thier style of fighting the most.

Rokushiki Robin UPDATE 4/15/18: Winner of the contest + 4 new illustrations!!

Hey guys, Shinjojin here and I’m finally back with a new Rokushiki Robin update!!

First, I want to announce the winner of the “Hana Hana no mi + Rokushiki” fanart challenge celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Rokushiki Robin project but before I do, I want to take this time to deeply apologize for not updating everyone about who the winner is for the past few months after all this time. I had to deal with a bunch of RL issues as they’ve sucked the passion out of me and I’ve ended up forgetting about it. Now it’s time for me to make up for it all.

Anyway, I want to also tell you all that after some serious consideration, due to the loss of interest of making that super special video for the time being, I decided to instead announce the winner here and also in a form a journal/blog post at other sites.

Now that FINALLY got that out of the way, time for the update to the project itself! I have four new illustrations for you guys, compliments of the talented @sleepysketcher from Tumblr! Here’s three Shigan ones with two of them being revolved around how to utilize a sprouting shigan on enemies that block a lot (although actually, the first two were from some draft sketches that he made while attempting to draw the third one which is the complete illustration that he intended but truth be told, I actually liked them a lot so I think they are worth sharing as well).

The top and bottom illustrations are based on this sketch of mine that I made for a multi-page document of my project that I created and sent to Oda back in 2013:

And now here’s the fourth: a Rankyaku one, which is of the Kaika Rankyaku Harinezumi Buzzsaw (Hedgehog Buzzsaw) attack straight out of the movelist doc! ;)

It was drawn using my old sketch of the technique that I gave him to use as reference:

And that is all for now! I’m still planning on finishing up that one drawing with the Hair shigan eventually once I’m in the mood so hopefully these should satisfy you guys for the time being. ;)

Quick question

Okay guys, need an opinion real quick. Which one of these version of the Tetsuhana “Marigold Shield” do you think is better?

Or maybe I should do a version of the pose that utilzes the best of both? The reason I ask is becuase I spent most of the weekend trying learn how to edit models in Blender just so I can use the extra arms as completely separate models in order to make hana hana-enhanced technqiues more authentic.

Something about Soru that a lot people tend to overlook when comparing it to Ceurpo Fleur.

This is related to the responses to the Hana Hana no mi + Rokushiki" concept questioning that i did a few months ago.

A while ago, I come to realize that while both allow you to “teleport” to one spot from another in some way, there is another aspect that soru has that Ceurpo Fleur doesn’t have that people didn’t take into account, and that is to enable you to attack at higher speeds and greater power (and possibly greater focus) while the technique is still in effect thanks to the small couple of seconds of increased blood flow and metabolism that the user gained from the 10 ground kicks that the user did to execute the technique. Seriously, this is one of the primary aspects of the technique that Luffy’s gear 2nd form was built upon, where instead of kicking the ground multiple times to build up power, Luffy, thanks to his rubber body that his devil fruit gave him, pushed down his legs to pump the blood flow and metabolism in him, allowing him to maintain the enhanced speed and strength for a longer amount of time as long as he has nutrients in his body (this is before the time skip where he mostly no longer needs to do the “pushing his legs down” method to activate the form btw).

Hmm, now that i think about it, it’s known about the Hana Hana no mi that what effects the limb replicas will effect the user (which has been shown plenty of times already). So i wonder if the user has a pair of sprouted legs (especially ones sprouted out of a decently sized object like a box or something) execute Soru without having the user using his/her own legs to execute it, could the user’s body still gain the heightened speed, strength, and focus attributes of Soru, which in turn will even allow the user to attack with said extra attributes while standing in place?

Fufu, I’m smelling some new insane strategy, tactic, and technique ideas coming out of this concept already!! >:D

More movelists of Rokushiki utilized with other devil fruits + another “kilo kilo no mi + Rokushiki” update!

I finally got around to getting some techniques down for some of the other devil fruits that people in this forum (and other forums) have listed. There is not much at the moment but at least it’s something. I have composite all of them (including the Buggy and Mr.5 ones) into a document which you can check out here.

However, I’ve added 8 new techniques to the “Kilo Kilo no mi + Rokushiki” movelist document (which you can find here) with four in the Shigan section, one in the Geppo section, and three in the Soru section, along with updating some of the already existing ones with better descriptions and finally giving names to some of the techniques that some of these new additions are either a follow up from or a more powerful version of:

(Note: the first three are the updated techniques while the rest are the new ones)

Tekkai “Zō” (Statue) (HBW)(H) - Basically using Tekkai “Go” (used by Blueno and Kumadori) with the user’s body being at the “10,000 Kilo kilo” state, resulting in the body becoming heavier and sturdier in order to remain in place while using Tekkai. Can be used with Busoshoku Haki “Koka” for maximum effect!

Senkou (Flash) (LLW or LBW) - After making their lower body or whole body lighter than their normal weight, the user’s Soru becomes much faster than usual. However, when used at the “1 kilo kilo” state, the user becomes so fast that he/she ends up surpassing the speed of sound, even to the point where even enemies with the most well trained eye will be unable to track the user’s movements, thus resulting in looking like they were instantly teleporting from place to place rather than just moving at vanishing speed.

Shigan “Shiragiku” (白菊, White Chrysanthemum) (LAW)(H) - By making the arm lighter, the user’s Shigan Ouren attack becomes faster! It’s even possible to activate this during a regular Shigan Ouren to gradually increase the speed.

Shigan “Maelstrom” (LAW)(H) - Same as the above technique but with Both arms.

Kyoku Shigan “Bougan” (Extreme Shigan “Bowgun”) (LBW)(H) - A powerful Shigan technique where the user will first go into a “ready and aim” stance and then propels himself/herself straight ahead towards the enemy with Senkou (1 kilo kilo variation) and pierces the target with shigan in one instantaneous thrusting motion. Thanks to the propelling speed and power of Senkou, this shigan is so fast that it is almost virtually impossible for the enemy to react since he will be struck before he even realizes it.

Kyoku Jusshigan (LAW)(H) - Same as the above technique but with all ten fingers instead of one, making it a lot more powerful.

Gekko Jusshigan “???” (HBW)(H) - A more powerful version of Gekko Jusshigan (the “Geppo + Jusshigan technique originally used by Jabra) that utilizes the DF’s “Weight increasing” aspects at its maximum. It starts off with the user using Geppo to get himself/herself into the air and to subsequently avoid his/her foe’s attack, then uses it again to launch themselves towards the airborne target in a vertical drop. And finally, as they’re dropping towards the target, the user immediately increases his/her weight to the “10,000 kilo kilo” state. The extra added momentum from the weight increase, along with target being vulnerable in the air, makes the following Jusshigan far more effective than a normal Gekko Juushigan, and nearly impossible to avoid.

Mach Speed Kenpo “Rugokoushou” (Log stiff palm) (LBW)(H) - A high speed Palm strike with great precision.

Mach Speed Kenpo “Gungnir” (LBW)(H) - A powerful and deadly hand thrust using all five fingers of the hand.

Mach Speed Kenpo “Million illusion kick” (LBW)(H) - A flurry of rapid firing kicks that are near instantaneous.

Geppo “Zeihō” (勢砲, Rebound Cannon) (from HBW into LBW) - This is a very risky technique that requires precise timing in order to work. In a couple of seconds before hitting the ground while falling in the “10,000 kilo kiko” state from very high up, the user immediately goes into the “1 kilo kiko” state and quickly uses geppo to bounce right back up at the very last second, resulting in a sort of a “explosive” spring or recoil effect that causes the user to skyrocket upward at speeds so intense that any rising attacks done in this state will have an incredibly more powerful impact than it normally would (like a rising uppercut for example). This is a very good technique for fooling people who were able to avoid any of the user’s “10,000 kilo kilo” dropping smash attacks by getting high above them, only to end up being surprised at the user rebounding right back up for a counterattack from below.

Not only that, but I even made a concept sketch of two of the techniques from the document with more on the way! Unfortunately, it’s in cam-quality at the moment but I will post a direct scan later on.
