Lowkey obsessed with qijiuyuan where they all grow up as slave kids together. Qi-ge finds poor pathetic A-Yuan and can't say no to his face that looks so much like his Xiao Jiu.

SY did transmigrate but doesn't realize who they are until way later, after they become peak lords. He also unfortunately has some qualities of his OG body, so he's rather sickly as a child, so SJ warms up to him a little quicker but frames it entirely as pity, "who cares about you, pathetic!!"

Because they look so similar like siblings, share a surname, and SY is so pathetic, it actually ends up earning them some more when begging, too.

It also means Qiu Jianluo buys the both of them. SJ works harder so SY doesn't have to because he's so sickly, and instead SY gets "cared for" by Qiu Haitang. She mostly treats him like a little brother, much to his dismay. He starts to realize how things were written in the novel may not be exactly as they are, or maybe things changed? QJL still whips them both and is canon-typical scum, though SJ makes it his job to protect them both and takes the brunt of it.

SJ never mentions that he'd met with Qi-ge. He never tells SY who was unconscious fighting a fever, he doesn't want to get his hopes up.

SJ burns down the manor and tries to run with his sickly A-Yuan when QJL is making plans to marry SY to QHT. He won't let them be stuck this way forever. Forget waiting for Qi-ge any longer.

Except they reunite as normal, and are accepted into the sect per canon with Qi-ge's interference. SY is just about the right age, and SJ is a little past the ideal age.

By this point, SJ and SY consider each other to be all the other has. They're closer than friends, but don't consider themselves siblings or even anything romantic. They're just... them.

And then SY is nothing but happy to see Yue Qi again, and after many events and biting his tongue and anger, SJ confesses to seeing him during one of SY's fevers. Lots of emotions and yelling and crying. And reassurance, and reconcilliation(post becoming peak lords, when SJ hits a breaking point.) SY makes them talk it through, and they both learn just why YQY didn't come back.

SJ begrudgingly forgives him, and they slowly grow closer again, enough that SJ comes to him after SY gets wifeplotted for help. He could do it himself, sure, but YQY is stronger, his qi is more suited to SY. They both... "assist" him through it. Until it keeps happening.

One of the Shens gets wifeplotted basically every week. One or the other. It's like an unspoken thing that YQY will assist happily. YQY is not going to question it.

I just think they'd have such a situationship.

sorry this took me forever to answer btw he's my second favorite character and i'm so obsessed with him <3 he's!! like. he grows up being second his entire life and trying to mediate between a mother who lashes out at her children to take out the anger her husband ignores but is the parent he knows factually loves him despite that and a father who sees who he is inherently as something to fix and a shixiong who is just better than him at everything except being the heir and he still still still chooses to love him until he fucking kills their brother in law and gets their sister killed and and. he's so angry and full of rage and he's sparking and snarling and begging wei wuxian to fucking look at him and answer why? why did he choose the wen remnants over them why did he never tell jiang cheng anything why did he develop and use demonic cultivation why did he never meet him in the middle why did it all have to be this way? and he's so angry because what else can he be because everyone is gone and he's what remains and he failed in his duty as the heir when he gave himself up for wei wuxian and no one else will ever know because he will never let them know. he's causastic and mean and so so so lonely and he lashes out because it's all he can do and at the end of the day he still has his nephew and his nephew still has him and maybe he won't ever heal but at least now he has answers and that's more than he had before and. oh my god.

i have so many thoughts on him i'm so obsessed with him. no one ever trusts him to be the hero and they shouldn't because he would not but no one gives him the chance to prove that before deciding for them. his grief drips from his body and burns up with how he spits it out. he has learned to be sharp and be cruel and he has learned to pick himself back up and he is all that is left because everyone died around him. he loves wei wuxian so so much and he can't make himself hate him and why can't he make himself hate him and they're so intertwined they might as well share more than a golden core.

anyway uh. i think i also gave away most interesting dynamic here lol. chengxian. theyre so insane theyre brotherlovers they both fucking wish it was incest theyre always destined to meet as long as they're both alive they carved out their cores for each other and they will never never be the same ever again. they make me insane they make me want to throw up.

thinking about how all of the flashbacks in mdzs set up the idea that wwx can 'do the impossible' and jc can't, how jc, a pragmatist, doesn't believe he can 'do the impossible' and the expectation to do so is an immense burden on his shoulders so he works hard to overcome his misfortune and shortcomings, and in doing so succeeds in revitalizing his sect.

while wwx heroically does his best to 'do the impossible' but ultimately the wen remnants all die and he is killed by the backlash of his own creation.

at the very beginning of the novel, wwx admits to lqr that he hasn't figured out how one could utilize resentful energy without losing control and hurting people. and he never does. he tried to invent a new method of cultivation but he failed, and it killed him.

Okay so the original PIDW Qing generation never made it to ascension, most of them Just Died. But they fared much better in the new timeline, every last one survived, and with Bingqiu and Moshang in their positions, probably going to stay that way!

They are all supposed to ascend together but lbr, Shen Qingqiu and Shang Qinghua are not leaving their banned-from-the-Heavens demon husbands.

They talk it over! And ultimately, after a lot of back and forth, it's decided that the rest will ascend without them but with their blessings when the time comes. Decades later, it's finally time.

Luo Binghe is hyped, man, 90% of the people that take his husband's time away from him are leaving, Especially Liu Qingge! Shen Qingqiu is not hyped, these are his friends, Especially Liu Qingge, but he thinks he's come to terms with it, he's had plenty of time knowing it was coming.

So the other ten Peak Lords ascend, SQQ and SQH retire, and a new generation takes over, it's Happily Ever After time, right? ...Right?

Except Bingqiu find that Liu Qingge was maybe more entwined with their lives than they realized.

Binghe actually dealt with a surprising amount of his stress by picking fights and having stupid hunting competitions with LQG. And everyone else just kind of accepts that he overpowers them, LQG was the only person in his life trying to catch up. There was something grounding about that, in having at least one person that doesn't see him as an unreachable pinnacle.

SQQ has no idea where half his fan collection is, because LQG doesn't bring them back anymore. He still makes notes on beasts he thinks LQG would enjoy fighting before he remembers. He has half a box of LQG's favorite tea and he cannot bring himself either to drink it or throw it out.

Why the fuck did they think it was okay to let him ascend?
