If you ever feel the baby moving he'll always put his head or hand to your stomach.

Whenever you go out he'll always bring a gun for protection. He doesn't want anything to happen to you or your baby to come.

He would be very tentative to your needs and try to support you in any way he can. He'd also be very physically affectionate.

When you first start developing a bump he most definitely will tease you a bit.

If course if you tell him it bothers you he'll stop with out question.

He'll try his best to cook you meals on the daily and when he can't he'll go out to get some of your favorite take out food.

Dolph

Dolph would be very tender and careful with you.

He's a bit afraid that you might over exert yourself doing something while he's at work and hurt yourself.

Once you two talk about it he'll a lot less concerned about you hurting yourself.

He would try his best to care for you and your needs but he won't be able to do everything.

Because he's so young he doesn't always know what you need.

Ibuki and self sabotage

There's one line in Beastars that I consistently have trouble understanding, and it's when Ibuki tells Louis that coexisting with other species isn't for him.

He says this directly after he reveals that he doesn't want to be someone who's feared by others, after deciding to save Louis' life, even if it's initially only for the Shishigumi’s own gain, caring for Louis' wellbeing, attempting to shield his innocence, and defending Louis' power as the Shishigumi boss, rather than just their figurehead. Sure, Louis is a special case in Ibuki's mind, but what else would you call Ibuki's past actions if not an almost entirely selfless act of devotion to someone of another species purely because he felt like a stronger person because he could care for Louis? Is that not the interspecies co-existance that he speaks of?

So then, what does Ibuki mean when he rejects the idea?

I've thought maybe he's just saying to scare Louis, maybe he's just using it as an excuse or a way to mentally prepare himself for what he's about to do. But I think the most likely explanation is that after spending half his life being told that he must embody violence and fear, his sense of self and self esteem has been eroded into nothing so thoroughly that while he sees himself capable of good deeds, he self sabotages due to the ideas drilled into him by the former boss, and as a result he can't believe himself to have the potential of ever being a good person.

Another year past means another year survived.

And survival is always worth celebrating.

Though some lions are more low-key about it, they all celebrate New Year’s Eve in their own ways.

On a whole, New Year’s Eve is seen as a more reflective time of year — you look back at the year gone and think on what you can do to make the upcoming year better for yourself.

Ibuki

He arranges a little get-together (not a party. It's an important distinction, to Ibuki) for the gang's inner circle.

Ibuki claims that it's to discuss the group’s upcoming criminal activities, but in truth ... he wants to spend the last day of the year with the gang's inner circle.

Life is never guaranteed, so it's best to appreciate your comrades when they are still with you.

When the get-together ends, expect to find him smoking on the shishigumi mansion’s roof.

He can't help but get all introspective come the end of the year.

If he doesn't spend New Year's higher than a kite, or emptying out Dolph’s liquor collection, then Free would go for a ride on his motorcycle.

The roads will be mostly clear, so he can go as fast as he wants, and really feel the wind in his mane.

Who knows? He might be able to convince Agata to go drag racing with him.

Dolph spends New Year’s Day much as he would any other day, and really planned to do the same this year.

But then Agata mentioned wanting to go see the fireworks, and Dolph found himself being dragged along.

Hino

He sleeps through Old Year’s Night, but wakes up bright and early January 1st.

He wanted to sleep in, but he would've liked to have seen the fireworks, still.

To make up for it, he watches the news reports of the event, all while promising himself that he’ll see the fireworks next year (repeat ad nauseum).

Dope + Miguel + Jinma

I think it would be really sweet if this little trio made a night out of New Year’s.

After Ibuki’s little shindig, these three would hit up the meat markets — something something “New Year’s barbecue”.

If they don't host a barbecue, they’ll be found clubbing (Miguel’s suggestion).

Sabu

New Year's isn't anything special for him.

He treats it like any other day — the most celebration you’ll get out of him is him helping Ibuki set up for the get-together.

Sabu might splurge on something nice for himself, but it’ll probably be related to the gang in some way: a fancy (yet reasonably priced) suit, some new shoes ...

Hcs about Agata's family?

We already know his family was less than ideal from the manga

I think His mom was mostly a stay at home mom who was always with Agata and his dad (from the brief drawing we saw of him) was probably an overworked salary man

When his parents were home, there was always a lot of arguing going on. I can imagine him not really wanting to leave his room just to get some peace and quiet

I feel like his parents were a case of getting married to be married. His mom doesn't like his dad and his dad just married someone because that's what they were expected to do.

And Agata was born from pressure to have a baby. Couples like these tend to be really toxic because again... this isn't a healthy situation. Having a baby not cus you wanted one but cus thats what people expected you to do.

I'm sorry these are so sad 😭I feel like from seeing his dad get berated, Agata has a lot of self confidence issues. Even in high school, he didn't think a lot of himself.

I feel like Agata is really smart and capable but because of hearing and probably being talked down so much by his mom AND a negative household situation, he never felt like putting himself out there and figuring out his full capabilities. And he tends to give up before trying because of this.

Idek where to start but I LOVE horror games. ATM I'm replaying The Evil Within and I love it.

I love the Resident Evil series too. I finally got all the games in the series on Steam so I'm a happy camper

I love the mario party series too. I get so competitive, like dangerously competitve. Same with Smash Bros. Oh and also fighting games like Tekken

I'm kinda into a lot of Nintendo series. Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing ... I don't have my switch so I can't remember other ones

I've been super into Magic the Gathering too, there's a hot lion in there and im obsessed with him

I'm gonna start off with games I don't think he particularly cares for

I don't see him as being much of a sports game player (think of 2K games), strategy games (So he wouldn't like fire emblem 😭),

I feel like he would be inclined to playing a lot of games where he could really express himself in since he's always been kind of forced to be in this toxic mold of how a male lion should be

So he really likes Minecraft, Animal Crossing, games like that where you can build a lot... I can see him having a really elaborate Sims game too of all the lions.

I can see him being into horror games too but they're not his most favorite. Funny you mention cuddling.. because horror games = perfect opportunity to cuddle!! He'd really like being wrapped up in a blanket together and playing a good horror game. He's super good at them too and doesn't really get scared (meanwhile, I start panicking once I hear the music change)

I don't think he cares for FPS games too. He thinks theyre boring

He really loves party games. Is crazy good at Mario Party and always wins. He's super good at smash bros too and plays as the cute characters (Peach, Kirby, Isabelle)

I think when it comes to fighting games, he likes playing them if someone else is playing with him. Doesn't care too much for them otherwise (meanwhile i spend a whole day memorizing combos on my own)

He's also a a beast at Mario Kart. I'm decent at it, but I know he would always win

He like's Pokemon too. I personally never got into it, but I can see him being a big fan.

I don't see him being too much of a traditional card game fan. I'd love to show him Magic the Gathering but it's very strategy based and I can kinda see him getting tired of it

Playing with him

I can see Agata wanting to have dedicated times to playing games as a bonding thing and also to relax

He would love playing creative games with you so you two can make something together. Making a really dedicated plan for your animal crossing town and then working on it togeher. Playing two player and fighting the monsters there and just building things.

This is a self projection LOL but he also likes playing silly roblox games together and also making funny avatars.

He likes playful competitiveness in mario party. It starts off as a versus between you two and then once one of you is in the lead, then you start rooting for each other cus you don't want the computer to win LOL. Sometimes you'll play on teams together vs computers and putting them on the highest difficulty so you have to really work together to win

When it comes to horror games, he lovesssss cuddling, especially if he's playing and you're watching him. He also just loves when you watch him play and he explains the game to you. He also really likes watching you play games he's not familiar with.

Louis thought he had it hard lion wrangling, then you came in.. now he thinks you do. Whenever your out you always have a lion or two maybe three with you, they all just want to be around you. They will give space if you ask but Free and Hino will still send you little love texts because they are attention whores.

While we are talking about texting. There is one big group chat with all the lions and you in it, just so everyone can stay up to date with who your with at that time and future group dates. The group chat is… chaos…Agata is always sending memes in the group chat, the older lions have no idea what the hell they mean. Sabu almost never talks but sometimes sends emojis. Hino is openly hitting on you hard in front of everyone, Free chimes in making dirty comments here and there. Ibuki is always correcting everyone’s grammar and Dolph is telling everyone to shut up.

Group dates are chaos as well but it’s always fun and leaves you tired. Like one time the Shishigumi rented out a restaurant with a dance floor, so your night was spent eating and dancing away with everyone. (But Miguel he don’t dance, he just slowly hold you close and sways with you) by the time you all returned to the mansion everyone was tired, which lead to a cuddle pile in the living room watching a sappy romance movie even though everyone fell asleep with in minutes. Yeah… you’re not going anywhere with massive felines pinning you down.

Free managed to roll off the pile and on the other side of the room.. somehow.. Sabu is old and his back was hurting so he is on the sofa, Agata is clinging around your legs like a child and the others are all just curled around you. Don’t ask Louis for help they are your problem now, his only suggestion is making you all go out again so he doesn’t have to wrangle them as often.

They all try to get together with you at least once and month.

Let’s be honest at first they weren’t too keen on sharing you, the first few weeks to months is going to be rough but as long as you don’t give one to much attention over the other you all will be fine. Just a adjustment.

You also now live in the mansion, with your own room but obviously your welcomed into any of the lions rooms alone and they are welcome in yours. If any lion can’t sleep they will come into your room and cuddle up with you. I promise you will wake up with lion holding you like a teddy bear, sometimes more the one!

The best thing is the many types of boyfriends; Hino will help you with outfits and go on shopping trips with you. Free is the loud, crazy boyfriend that you should put a leash on. Ibuki is your classic romantic with candle lit dinners and flowers. Sabu is the scary boyfriend who scares everyone off but is the sweetest man to you. Miguel is your health nut making sure you are healthy to stay around with them for a long time. Jinma and Dope are very similar with careful planning and always doing whatever you want but Dope can party more, Jinma can’t. Agata is the sweetest gamer boyfriend but will beat someone up for you. Dolph is the most serious always watching for danger and most likely to pull a gun at a stranger, so he prefers to just stay home and cuddle.

All holidays and birthdays are filled with a lot of gift exchanges. Especially towards you, no matter which lion it is you always get something you want. It may be personal or just a goofy little thing, they give it to you with their heart.

They had to install a new room just for the amount of trinkets and such they get you.

You saw a post online about domestic cats responding to “pspspsps” so you tried it on your wild cats. It was just a simple semi loud “psps” and they all came walking in questioning what was that and why they were all here. Maybe you should try more domestic cat tricks on them?

No matter what, you will always have somebody to go to. They will all listen and shoot a bitch if they need to, your safe with them. Nobody will even dare to touch you in the black market.

Since Agatas the older brother, the younger sibling defintely always looked up to him no matter what

When they got yelled at by their mom, the two would be there for eachother to confide about how they were feeling. Unfortunately, Agata would still hold back because he thought he needed to be the strong older brother for his younger sibling

Even though he feels that way about himself, he would try to make the younger sibling realize that they don’t need to follow this way of thinking and they can be any type of lion they want to be. 

I feel like Agata would show them a lot of the things he’s into. This is kinda taking directly from mine and my brother’s relationship but any of the games he was into, he would play with me too. Agata would do the same

When it comes to him joining the Shishigumi, he would try to hide it from them because he doesn’t want them to follow in his steps. He would just say he’s been doing some things with school and isn’t home as much

When he does leave, he visits the younger sibling before and doesn’t tell them directly that he’s leaving to join the shishigumi but implies that he’s going to leave the house for good.  

Even though he leaves, he does his best to try and keep contact with his younger sibling.  It’s hard to do with being part of the shishigumi because he doesn’t want to draw suspicions

Unfortunately, he ends up forgetting after some time from the shishigumi work. The sibling is left wondering what happened to their older brother. It hurts at first but then they move on as well

The sibling eventually finds out where Agata was when the Shishigumi got caught. They end up visiting him in prison and he explains everything to them and apologizes to them for leaving. But because of their original closeness, it was like Agata never left. 

If Agata stays in prison, they visit him regularly but if he’s able to get out (pls paru make a spinoff with them and louis) then theyre always spending time together and just catching up on life.

Thoughts on a Beastars swap story where Juno is the main protagonist and Louis is the one who gets ambushed by her at the fountain?

I've never really read a swap story (I skimmed a popular one, didn't connect with it, and subsequently ... stopped reading beastars fan fictions haha), but this one sounds like it could be interesting!

THE FUN THING ABOUT SWAP STORIES

The fun thing about swap stories is that they're great exercises in character motivations (or at least, that's how I see them). Juno and Louis, to me at least, are more similar than dissimilar to each other.

They're both competitive, consider their group as superior due to past trauma (Juno dislikes herbivores due to constantly being bullied by them, Louis dislikes carnivores presumably because of his time spent as livestock in the Black Market) and most importantly: they both want to be the Beastar.

MAIN CONFLICT

In my head, Juno's beliefs differ from her reality. That is: she believes that she wants to become the Beastar in order to create a better world for carnivores. In actuality, the truth is more like she wants to spite the herbivores who bullied her -- Juno's success is her revenge.

And unlike others, Juno is wiling to misrepresent her intentions to others: befriending herbivores and making herself more palatable to them. To become the Beastar, you need to show that you can act as a bridge between carnivores and herbivores, so, this tactic makes sense.

Though, Juno would have spent time crafting her approachable reputation, it's all still very, very fragile. If word were to get out that she almost committed a predation, it would be enough to sink any hope she has of becoming the Beastar. But her near-predation also has further implications for carnivores: if even a Beastar candidate can't tame their instincts, who is to say that a regular carnivore could?

Juno wants carnivores to be proud rather than ashamed of themselves, and she is willing to go along to get along to do so.

As for Louis ... I see him as the type of character to exploit others. Juno is his rival for Beastar, and really, he could easily knock her out of the running (since no one wants a Beastar that's attacked someone).

I think there are two main directions this could go in:

Louis and Juno decide to become Co-Beastars (there's no better publicity than a carnivore and herbivore working together), with a 3rd party trying to expose the truth of what happened by the fountain. OR:

It becomes a back and forth between Juno and Louis, with them trying to subtly sabotage each other.

EXPANSION ON #1

I think it would be very fun if the 3rd Party mentioned is Legoshi investigating the incident. It'd be even more fun if Legoshi's investigation becomes well-known, so that when the truth does come out, the reader is left to wonder if it would've been better if the truth remained hidden.

CONCLUSION

I feel like a swap story done with Juno and Louis would be very captivating: both characters are strong-willed and willing to go to great lengths for their goals.

He does it without realizing. If they’re alone and he’s walking up to them he always come up with a head bump. Because his head is so big it pushes you a bit but then he’ll put his arm around you and basically just squishes you.

Even in public if he’s especially happy to see them he’ll give them a head bump, everyone kinda gives him a little chuckle but he enjoys intimacy so he’s like idc lemme get the snuggle.

The slow blinks happen when him and his s/o make eye contact unintentionally and just end up staring at each other and he starts the slow blinking after staring and not blinking for a while

When him and his s/o get into an argument, he’ll start slow blinking at them to show that he doesn’t mean harm and just wants to talk to them. It’s really calming seeing him blink slowly

He’ll also slow blink at you if you’re feeling stressed to help calm you down, kind of like how you slow blink at other cats to show them you wanna be their friends
