As part of the redevelopment and rebranding of the Miami Science Museum to the Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science in Miami, a massive near-2 million litre Gulf Stream Tank Aquarium was built as its new centrepiece. 

Visitors will see three-dimensional animations of these elusive and rarely seen creatures in these waters, including those that are not normally kept in aquariums.

Risk and Maintenance


Pay attention to the safe use of the projector. The projector needs to be placed in a safe place. Place the table where it does not block the road. Pay attention to the safe use of the touchpad to avoid electric shock.

Equipment:

Projector: a traditional projector at an affordable price, the best is a small projector, which does not occupy space and is easy to place. The focal length must be very long and a certain distance is required. Note that the placement of the projector does not block the road

Screen: Black screen, quick-fit event screen (4: 3) diagonal 100 inches 2.032 m * 1.524m

Lights: The surrounding lights need to be dark

Table: width 80 ~ 100 cm × thickness 80 ~ 100 cm,The table is used to introduce the work and place the touchpad

Touchpad: Initially decided to use the touchpad on the computer, or tablet, placed on the table

Screen

By touching the touchpad, you can display the shape of the wings on the screen, and leave a track, and the degree of expansion, size, and orientation of each wing are different. The position of touching the touchpad is different, and the trajectory left in the screen is also different, which depends entirely on the user. This work is fully interactive and random.

It can be seen from the comparison that the fiery red wings are particularly prominent on a black background, and the wings are properly expanded and closed.

Wings

Here are some samples of the wings I designed on the screen. After many different colors and the design of the lines of the wings, I initially determined that they are red wings. This wing is the first design that needs to be determined. I have invested a lot of time in designing the appearance of the wing because I want to prepare for the interaction later.

Target audiences

Families: For families,There's a good chance to take the kids to the gallery. parents want their children to get involved, get some educational things, and do some parent-child interactive games, they can tell the children the meaning of this wing, and encourage children to plug in the wings of dreams, choose their own The way to go.I need to think about the educational significance of my work to help children grow up

passerby:For this kind of people, Have a small chance to visit.inadvertently attracting them is particularly important. Stopping to watch the work, hoping to see interesting things happen is what this kind of people want. They may go forward to try, maybe feel waste Time goes away, depending on how attractive the work is.

teens:For teenagers, There's a good chance to take the kids to the gallery.their characteristics are hyperactive and will be easily attracted to the front. Teenagers can do some interactions by themselves and plug them in the wings of dreams. At the same time, teenagers are also willing to share their own interesting things with other people. For this group of people, it will be the largest audience for this exhibition.I need to think about the communication in my work

Record

when people are creating wings, they will want to use their phones to record what they have made – ideally with them in front of the wings.Through reference the wings scuptutre in Changi Airport, Singapore. I decided to point the touchpad right at the screen so that the user could record what he or she had done.
