Footnote Woodstock

Last year there was an event related to Woodstock. The event was on June 3, 2017 it was the 5th annual Spirt of Woodstock. The event took place in New York.  It was an award show that honoring kevin A. They also had another award for Alf Evers, but his son was get award on his behalf. Alf Evers was in Woodstock for long a time. This event was giving awards for the best of Artist of Woodstock. It was giving out awards to them. They were good performers.  During this October there also, Woodstock film festival that happen in the fall.

Rising the sun blog The article from rising the sun is used in a play that is set in Chicago. It is described a living room and how comfortable it is. It is telling us too many people living in this  room. No one has remembered about this room except for the mother. The time in place was discovery in world war II.  The place was in Chicago in the southside. The character in the act 1 are Ruth Younger, and Travis Younger, Walter lee Younger. Hughes is using this to describe to the negro color.

The culture Front

Denning explain is her thesis about the culture front. This was described by the first part of culture front, People in modern culture were arguing how the culture front was produced by artist. The second part of the culture front talks about novels, plays, and artist. The third part of cultural describe the forms of the cultural front. This part is describing about artistic forms and social location that is used in the cultural front. Denning explained the culture front in three different parts. In this semester I read a book called Black Culture Black Consciousness. This book talk about the culture during slavery. It shows how African American were in their culture. It shows how there were singing songs that was describe about slavery. It should their lifestyle in their culture. The difference between the text is that they were talk about two different culture.

In the preface I learned leavine want to learn about culture term. He saying these tales come across fastantics. Levine is try to present a theory. Levine realize some culture had to their lives. He is also see people as individuals. Slavery may change in many other ways. Levine says in the introduction that there is culture here and no one around is realize it.

Benjamin Franklin  autobiography

One thing I found interesting about Benjamin Franklin autobiography was his older brother James was already in the printer business when Benjamin Franklin wrote he his first paper. His brother ended up ruined it. This related to real life because many writers have the same issue with their mentors.  Later on Benjamin went on his own to publish his own newspapers in different places. Benjamin Franklin wrote a letter to his son William but send to public not in a private letter because he wants to show himself to World. William was Benjamin Franklin literary executor. The introduction was very broad because it was talking about Benjamin Franklin autobiography. It also introduces he great teachings he has done in America.

Jamestown project  It was made in year 2007.  It had 400th anniversary of Jamestown. one interesting i found was that   the one person from town told the king of Spain not worry about European settlers trying come to Jamestown because they people are trying come going to die because diseases. They will not be able survive.

African American studies

The article  about African American studies was based on American studies association group. The author describe how he became African American . The white and African American had a riots for right against slavery . The blacks studies program was first introduce in Detroit. The article is different from the other article on American philosophy because it talk what happens in life of  African American and the issue and problems they were facing. The similarities from the two articles is that it took place in 1970s and there were discuss both African Americans studies.
