Kellogg’s promotional art for Corn Flakes, starring Superman.
In the first few decades of his existence, National Periodical Publications (DC Comics) did everything they could do imply that Superman was a “real” person, or at least, “real” on the level of Santa Claus, in the heads of children. Bud Collyer didn’t get credit on the radio show, the Man of Steel was listed in the credits as “Superman, as Himself.” One aspect of that attitude persists to this day, in that there’s always a preference for Superman to be played in media by an unknown actor.

The only Transformers ever released. Hope somebody does a live action one someday! That would be neat.
